Engagement ring appraisal

Hey all! Just got proposed to recently and now I’m looking to get the ring insured. This is all new to me so I’m trying to figure out where to go to get it appraised, or at least some trusted options to choose from.

I live in Hyattsville so any recommendations on DC or MD are welcomed! 🙏🏾

New ring dos & donts

Hi all!

I just got engaged last week so not only am I new to wearing an engagement ring, I’m also new to rings in general.

So just looking for general advice/tips/suggestions on things I should avoid or should try to do now that I’m wearing this big ol expensive rock everyday lol. No tip can be too obvious I promise.

Some details in the ring incase it needs special care:
- 2.5 ct princess cut
- 1.5mm (maybe 2mm?) platinum band with diamonds
- tulip basket

Also any specific tips on keeping it from spinning would be great too. I’m pretty sure it’s my size because I have to put in effort to take it off (unless my hand is wet) BUT it does spin pretty freely while on my finger.

Lunch and dinner

Do people typically make lunch and dinner reservations while on vacation here? Or at least pic out where they want to eat in advance? Or do you just go with the flow??

I ask because from what I’m reading it seems to be different then the many places I’ve been to in Europe where (at least for us) always making dinner and usually lunch reservations was a standard.

But I find here not only is it harder to make reservations, but there are also much more options in a small area; and again, it just feels like most people don’t do this here.

Just curious to see how most people planned out their meals when visiting Tokyo and Osaka.

Two people using TikTok account

Me and my bf share a couples account. Thus far I’ve kept it only on my phone and done everything there. But now I want him to get more involved in posting videos as well

Might it cause us some problems if we log into the same account from two different phones? We live together so the main location would be the same, but we do work in different areas though.

Would it make a difference if we made sure we were never using it at the same time?

I see lots of posts of people getting shadow banned or denied from joining creator programs so just wanna make sure we’re not doing anything that could hurt us in the long run.

Rooftop drinks without a reservation

I'm trying to find a few places to get drinks after dinner that have an outdoor rooftop view in Tokyo or Osaka but every place I've found seems to require a reservation, some that are already booked up for next month.

Any recommendations for nice rooftops to grab a drink in the evening (or any time of day at this point) in Tokyo or Osaka where I don't need to make a reservation in advance?

Is this a normal start?

Made this account almost exactly a week ago, and minus the one outlier (LOL idk) melt of my videos are getting views in the 100s-low 1000 range. I get a decent amount of likes relative to views.. I think? But I don’t feel like I’m getting many followers.

Just curious if this is a normal start in regard to views, likes, follows, etc. Or am I moving slower than expected for being a week in?

Wait for Classic release or try current game?

I used to play Maple Story heavy around 2010 for a few years and then stopped and never went back. I recently got the urge to start playing again randomly but after some quick research it seems like the game is VERY different from what it used to be.. and I still cant tell if it’s for better or for worse lol. But then I also saw some reports that theres a Classic version supposedly coming out that is supposed to be very similar to probably the version I was most familiar with.

So I’m debating whether I should just wait for the Classic version to release… at some point, or should I just jump in and try this new current version? I’m just afraid this new version is gonna be TOO different from what I remember and it’s gonna turn me off, and then I wont even be interested anymore when Classic comes out.

How big is the difference between this current version and the old school, and would an OG player be able to adapt, or even enjoy it?

Shorts for men in a bodysuit cosplay?

My bf is doing a beast boy cosplay but the bodysuit is pretty tight and revealing in the private area lol. What types of shorts do men typically wear with these types of cosplays to hide themselves a bit? Or are there options better than just shorts?

Patient tracking log

Hello!

I work in an outpatient clinic and have been asked by my department chair to start keeping track of the patients I see in clinic. I wasn’t given any specific parameters to include but I assume something along the lines of: reason for visit, clinical interventions, and main indications would be sufficient.

I wanted to see if anyone has an excel (or other) template that they have been using that they could share with me? I’m not too great (aka horrible) with excel and i’m actually months behind on patients lol so any help or advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks :(

Should I repurpose an old account, or start fresh?

I’m looking to start a TikTok and IG account for anime/gaming/travel. I already have old accounts that I used for investing/finance education that have a few followers but little interaction because I stopped using them a good while ago.

Should I just rename these account so I start with at least a tiny following, even though the content is different? Or is it better to start from scratch?

Trying to finalize my Tokyo & Osaka itinerary for August

Hello all!

Reddit has been super helpful to me thus far in planning this trip, but hopefully this is the last time I'll have to post about it lol. Help deciding between Osaka hotels

I have narrowed down 1 trillion great hotels to 4… but now I’m stuck lol.

It will be 2 people per room. We would like a hotel that’s very close in walking distance to not only the train but also a short trip to bars, restaurants, shops, etc… basically near the liveliness. Room size matters in a sense, but as long as it’s not a literal closet size, I’ll be okay.

The final 4 hotels feel very similar to me, even within price so if anyone could share personal experiences or opinions that would be super helpful so I can finally book 🙂
- Bridge Hotel Shinsaibashi
- Fairfield by Marriott Osaka Namba
- Hotel the Flag Shinsaibashi
- Dotonbori Crystal Exe Hotel

Also… separate, but kind of related? Any recommendations for restaurants in/near Namba or Shinsaibashi that actually take reservations lol?

Calm lowkey bottomless brunch?

I love bottomless brunch, but sometimes I’m not in the mood for loud music, dancing, and party vibes. Sometimes I just wanna drink and eat alot while having a conversation where I don’t have to yell. Im more than fine with music, just not at a deafening level or in a party atmosphere lol.
So Any recommendations for places like that in/near Hyattsville?

What color lips for a formal wedding?

I’m wearing this dress to a formal wedding next weekend which is dark blue with sliver / light blue shimmery trimmings throughout. I’m doing silver/white gold jewelry as well as some with baby blue stones. My heels are a satin light blue.

I don’t wear makeup but I do wear lipstick and never shy from a bright color. I’m really struggling with what color lips to do with this though.

Navy blue? Might be too dark as it’s a summer daytime wedding.
Baby blue? Might not look good on my lips
Neutral? Dark or light? Kinda boring but maybe a dark blue lip lined? Idk.
Something else I didn’t think of?

Feedback on Osaka itinerary

Going to Japan (Tokyo & Osaka) in August and working on my itinerary. My Tokyo itinerary is coming along nicely but I feel like I'm struggling a lot more with Osaka so looking for some opinions/guidance. Would also appreciate any recommendations on hotels (or at least neighborhood to look at) based on this itinerary.

My and my bf are early 30s and are very big into anime and gaming, and also want to go out to some clubs/bars while there. I'm also a big shopper and we of course love to eat.

I recently posted my Tokyo itinerary in r/japantravel and got some helpful feedback that took me back to the drawing board a bit. So before I finalize that and get started on the Osaka part of my trip, I wanted to ask some question to help me out a bit.

  • If we're planning to spend the nights out drinking and at clubs, would it be better to do dinner while still out from the day then go to the hotels to change and go out for the night? Or does it make more sense to go back to the hotel after being done with the day to get ready to go out for dinner and nightlife at once?
    • Do most places required reservations for dinner?
    • What is the typical attire for dinner at restaurants and out at clubs/bars?
    • Since we're gonna TRY to go out mostly every night while we're there, I've been thinking Shibuya or Shinjuku would be the best areas for a hotel, any specific recommendations?
  • As far as just regular everyday attire while sightseeing, are casual anime t-shirts and gym shorts (knee length) fine? I've heard modesty is big there but I also know how hot it is in August so I'm hoping shorts are fine.
  • Any particular landmarks (shrines, tourist spots, or even areas, etc) that are better at night vs the daytime?
  • Any whisky, sake, or wine tasting tours/experiences anyone could recommend?
  • Any official half day (or less) tours or excursions anyone’s done that they strongly recommend?
  • Any areas or stores I should check out for handmade arts/paintings? Looking to add to my walls.
  • I love a high skyline view so I have a ton (probably too many) of options in my itinerary, any help narrowing down which ones I should go to vs those I can cut out?
  • Is Mt Takao doable as just a half day visit from Tokyo? Does it make more sense to book an actual tour/excursion or is it pretty easy to just get a train there and walk around and get some views/fresh air?
  • I'm planning to book a sunset cruise that leaves from Hineda Pier. Is there anything in that area to do (sightseeing, shopping, eating/drinks, fun activities) before or after or cruise to pass time?

Oops this ended up being more questions than I anticipated lol, but even just answering one would helpful. So thanks in advance!
