What’s something some you do/did for others as a small act of kindness type thing?
Last week I was helping out on a response shift(police). My core role doesn’t see me doing very much traditional police work at the moment.
Anyway I got to be dealing with a guy who was in a bit of a mental health spiral for various reasons, so I went into my “emergency” stash of food and gave him some sweets and crisps and stuff, nipped back to the station for some tea and coffee and a couple porridge pots.
The youngster I was working with was shocked, completely unaware you could just give someone a bag of Haribos.
Should your socio-economic background be considered amongst other characteristics when measuring diversity?
For starters this isn’t a bad faith right wing question. I am very much in favour of organisations being proactive in their recruitment strategies in order to have a workplace that reflects society.
That being said I do wonder if a bunch of middle class men and women from diverse racial backgrounds kind of misses the whole point.
We need working class white/black/gay people to be represented in places as well otherwise it’s not really that reflective of society.
Don’t be pissed off if I’ve worded this poorly, like I say I’m not making any anti-diversity comment I’m asking a pro-diversity question.
For people that have traveled a lot of China, where would you consider is the most chilled? Really want to see the slower paced side of China.
