Does anyone know what % of calories go away when you purge?
sorry if this question isn't allowed or has been asked a lot, but I haven't found any actual source for how many calories get absorbed vs get purged. I just want to calculate my total calories consumed for the day accurately
Also, does metabolism affect how quickly calories are "cashed" by our digestive system? (idk how else to phrase that but I hope it makes sense).
The only actual research paper I've found on this topic is This, but it's from 1993 and the abstract seems to contradict itself ("While caloric consumption during binge eating has been measured, it is not known how many of the calories are retained in the gastrointestinal tract after vomiting." While also stating measured calories from before vs after purging). The full research paper is also paywalled, so I don't know how they measured it, when they purged, and if the type of foods they ate altered the purged calorie amount.
Idk if this question really has a definitive answer, but if it does or at least has an approximate answer I'd rly appreciate it!!!
