Beyond Meditation: What brought you most joy, peace, or resilience?

Besides meditation, what practices, ideas, or experiences have helped you most? What brought you the most joy, ease, peace, harmony, resilience, or anything else you deem desirable??

For example: specific therapy types (CBT, etc), favorite musicians, unusual hobbies, physical activities, life philosophies, relationships, books, podcasts, or videos—really anything?

Surprising foods that mitigate spikes

Besides the obvious "fiber, protein, and fat," what specific foods, drinks, herbs, or supplements materially improved your spikes or consistently lowered the post-spike baseline—especially surprising ones?

Personally, I suspected that these might be helping at various times, but unfortunately, I did not see consistent results with them: psyllium husk, allulose, glycine, mushrooms (especially shiitake), okra, ginger, chestnuts, feta, and cheddar.

Statin experiences among cyclists: effect on cardio adaptations and endurance

If you take statins, how have they affected your progress?

I recently started a low dose (1 mg) of Pitavastatin for long-term prevention. It is entirely optional for me, not an immediate medical need. My performance has plateaued lately, which made me wonder if the medication is a factor. Of course, the plateau could stem from my training program or simply hitting a natural ceiling.

For those on statins, has it impacted your cycling progress? Do you do anything specific to minimize potential side effects beyond regular training and proper nutrition?

To be clear, I am not asking for medical advice—I consult my doctor for that. My physician agrees that statins are optional for my situation.

I am simply weighing the pros and cons and want to hear about your experiences. Most published literature focuses on sedentary populations rather than serious endurance athletes, so real-world feedback from riders is incredibly helpful. I'm leaning toward continuing for now.

Please also mention which statins you are taking at what dose as the impact may be different.

Muse Headband: Helpful tool or unnecessary crutch

Has anyone used the Muse Headband for meditation?

I’m skeptical about relying on external tools, but I want to hear your firsthand experience. Did it help your practice?
