Favorite music for working out (lifting and/or cardio)?

What's one track/song/piece/album/artist/band you truly enjoy working out to most?

Please indicate if you use it for cardio (e.g., stationary cycling, treadmill running) or strength training and whether you find ti best for low intensity workouts, high-intensity intervals, or PR lifting sets.

Please feel free to leave multiple comments (the more the merrier!), but only include one song in each, so others can upvote.

The most transcendent, awe-inspiring, chill-inducing, inspiring, audiophile music

What's one track/song/piece you'd describe this way?

What would be worth listening to with eyes closed using the most powerful audio system to get completely carried away by the music?

Greatest awe-inspiring, chill-inducing, truly soul-touching and (metaphorically speaking) ego-transcending songs/compositions/music pieces of all time that transcend what's possible with music and elevate, uplift, and inspire.

Please feel free to leave multiple comments (the more the merrier!), but only include one song in each, so others can upvote.

Typo: "chills-inducing" (not a native speaker).

Favorite non-distracting "lock in" music for Anki flashcard reviews?

Favorite non-distracting "lock in" music for doing Anki reviews? Obscure recommendations?

Favorite playlists, artists, or albums?

The more specific, the better. Obscure and unusual suggestions are especially welcome!

I enjoy: brown rain, deep techno (Yagya, Deepchord, etc), space ambient (Solar Fields, Carbon Based Lifeforms, Brian Eno, etc), instrumental guitar (think Khruangbin, Arc De Soleil, Tommy G., etc), piano, and other electronic music (Tycho, etc). Occasionally, intelligent drum and bass.

Skip creatine to maximize VO2 Max gains?

What's your conclusion from the meta-analysis that showed that creatine supplementation confirmed a lower VO2max in the creatine group compared to the placebo group?

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34859731/

Do you skip it altogether or continue taking? I personally take it on strength days and skip it on cardio days, but I doubt it's a good strategy. What do you do?

Worst bloating offenders

If your primary issue is/was bloating, can you please respond with a trigger (e.g., fructans or sorbitol) or a specific food (e.g., garlic or Granny Smith apples) that you determined to be the worst or one of the worst offenders for you personally?

In other words, eliminating which ones yielded the biggest improvement?

If there are multiple major triggers, please post separate comments, so others can upvote individual items, and it's easy to see the overall "ranking."

Impact of resonant breathing on HRV

If you do resonant breathing (for example, breathing in for 4 seconds and breathing out for 6 seconds) and use a heart rate monitor to track the impact on HRV in the short-term and another tracker to track the long-term impact (for example, overnight HRV measured with a Garmin/Fitbit):

  1. How much improvement do you see during the session and the night after?
  2. How much improvement have you seen long-term?
  3. What is your breathing cadence and the exact technique (especially if it is nonstandard)?

The best myofunctional exercises for snoring

For those whose snoring improved significantly from myofunctional exercises, which one or two specific exercises do you think helped the most?

Context: There appears to be uncertainty and disagreement remain about which exercises are actually helpful, neutral, or even harmful. For example, see this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RDE2sHZnVg

I'm also curious if you've seen studies that compare individual exercises against each other (vs as a group). Ideally, separately for snoring vs UARS vs apnea.

Beyond Meditation: What brought you most joy, peace, or resilience?

Besides meditation, what practices, ideas, or experiences have helped you most? What brought you the most joy, ease, peace, harmony, resilience, or anything else you deem desirable??

For example: specific therapy types (CBT, etc), favorite musicians, unusual hobbies, physical activities, life philosophies, relationships, books, podcasts, or videos—really anything?

Surprising foods that mitigate spikes

Besides the obvious "fiber, protein, and fat," what specific foods, drinks, herbs, or supplements materially improved your spikes or consistently lowered the post-spike baseline—especially surprising ones?

Personally, I suspected that these might be helping at various times, but unfortunately, I did not see consistent results with them: psyllium husk, allulose, glycine, mushrooms (especially shiitake), okra, ginger, chestnuts, feta, and cheddar.
