Interesting response when I mentioned chiro care to another mom

They cited an article from LA times previously about the practice coming from ghosts and such. And now they cited an article about a 32 year old woman who passed from arterial dissection.

Can anyone speak to some of this? I’m not a chiro at all- just a strong believer in the practice. I never said cure - I said my daughter’s ear infections and fevers never came back after years of suffering. Because we know when the nerves are able to flow freely without being pinched, the body can heal by itself. But I don’t even know where to start or even bother with this person.

TIA!

How do you decide on a design plan for full mani?

Do any of y’all have any tricks you like to get jump started or inspired or make decisions? Do you start with a full plan or do you start with one choice and keep making it up as you go?

Just got some new stampers I was really excited about! My last order was my first and I liked the ones I bought, but hardly want to actually use them. So this felt like a more informed order.

But I am still finding myself staring and contemplating. One layer, mixing plates, accent nail or two, or designs on all.. it feels scattering even tho I’m excited haha.

Expiration once is juiced?

What are your rules of thumb on when the juice needs to be drank by once it’s juiced? I used to go by 5 days or less, but not if you didn’t have to push it that long . But I’ve seen things now that say don’t even go past 3 days…

What are y’all’s thoughts??💭

Morning lemon water

As I start my LW routine, I was curious what y’all’s favorite quick, easy clean-up way for juicing your lemon is? I know there’s a variety in styles so what have you been loving? 😃

PS has anyone ever heard the info on waiting 30 mins after brushing your teeth before drinking something acidic? 🤔

“Chronically reactive lymph nodes”; any relief? Others experienced this?

This is the conclusion I found with ChatGPT (I’ve spent many years running around the conventional medicine route, if I let it end where they led, I’d just be using steroid cream as the only treatment for the eczema symptom.) I’m going to try and spare some details to avoid a story book.

So through lots of info dumping, “we” realized the lymph nodes in my jaw and neck were swollen from initial major reaction occasions 8 years ago and never shut off.

One thing we found was getting a CT scan since I connected the chronic rhinitis symptom. Turns out I have LPR and my son broke my nose with a head butt about 5-6 years ago (tantrums at 1-2 yrs old) and it left one nostril barely open and the other too open. So there’s inflammation at the top of my nose as well as a pocket near my sinus to lower the turbulence in the other nostril.

The dr concludes these are most likely the cause keeping the nodes turned on. Solutions are surgery, a bed wedge, low acidic foods.

The reason I’m hoping there’s a 1 in a million chance someone understands more about lymph nodes than all the drs so far is because I found out I was pregnant shortly before the CT scan. And surgery has to wait. I’ve had a bed wedge for over 3 months now and low acidic foods, and there isn’t any change in symptoms.

Is there any way to get relief? I wake up itchy but the biggest things is - It’s summer and I want to be outside and at the lake with my kiddos - but the sun/heat makes my neck and arms (nodes?) SO itchy :’( (There’s something about heat and heart rate, bc labor/working out does it too)

Car sickness remedy?

I have been googling and hunting off and on since last year when I had to take my kiddos on a 9+ hour road trip and they both puked at least once, and were nauseous most of the ride. Granted it tuned into winding roads and mountains, but even when that’s not the case, they are still pretty uneasy. They are now 3 and 7.

I feel like there’s gotta be a remedy on the natural side (no Dramamine for example) but haven’t found much. Maybe an essential oil blend rubbed on their wrists and behind the ears? Has anyone actually tried the acupressure bracelet for car sickness? Please help! TIA!

The long, lost sleep training program

Hey all! I was hoping you could help me track down a program I found when my little guy was about 1 or so. He is now 7.

It was a pretty simple website. And the little online handout costed $8 or so. Super simple but so powerful. I used what concepts I remembered for my next kiddo who is now 3, and it worked but I really want a full refresher for our baby on the way.

It was a no-cry method. You said goodnight once; the verbal stuff, lullabies, kisses, whatever your routine is. Then you lay them down. For the rest of the night you don’t say anything. Trying to not even do “shushing” besides a quiet one here or there if they are distraught. But you always offered presence as soon as they cried. You pick them up; bounce lightly, hug, and (I believe) once calm, you lay them down. You can let them get sleepy, but you don’t let them drift off. It’s important they are still in the state right before, because it teaches self-soothing or something.

Ring any bells? Is it not a thing anymore? I may have it a little wonky, but this is generally what I remember.

TIA! 🫶

Storing cilantro - fresh vs freezing?

I’ve read this trick years ago for keeping cilantro fresh, and it’s worked really well. Now that I’m getting into HMDS, I have to buy at least a week’s worth bc the store is an hour away.

Has this been effective for others? And secondly, does anyone freeze theirs and then blend when needed?

I was reading through old threads about storing, and someone mentioned freezing it. We’re a little crunched for fridge space as well as cutting time off our routines wherever we can (especially mornings!). I am pregnant with our 4th kiddo and we both work full time.

Appreciate your feedback!

Gauging down - general and conch specific

I have quite a few lobe and helix piercings, including forward helix. Others are a traegus and conch. I mention this for context bc once healed, I always opt to gauge down smaller for my profession and for a daintier look. So my lobes and traegus are 20G and helix are 18G.

My conch- almost two years ago- was pierced at a 14G and after about 9-12 months, I went to 16G. It’s healed and doing great, and I want to go further to 18G. But I can’t find information to pros and cons of piercings and gauge sizes, maybe even specific to thick cartilage piercings.

Any reason to not gauge down? I also hope to create some consistency in gauge sizes.

Thank you in advance!

Workout recommendations - pregnancy friendly

Context: I am about 22 weeks pregnant, and have a little belly going. I’ve gone to the gym for years, but only a few times a week or so. I still weight train and cardio (lighter loads and easier pace now with preg.)- but mostly walking the track for a mile or two.

Request: My legs struggle a little to stand back up if I crouch down for anything; grab out of low cupboards fix things on low shelves, etc. Are there workouts I can do to help strengthen those specific muscles that shoot me back up to standing? I’ve been doing calf and different leg work outs, but not sure if they are activating what I need. Any suggestions? TIA!
