Month three of trying to get a pair of sunglasses

First, I ordered a pair of Maui Jims. They arrived broken in box. I had a terrible experience with customer support so I vowed to never buy from them again. Decided to go with a pair of Smiths. They arrived broken in box, and they refused to refund the shipping; only the price of the sunglasses. My third purchase was from Oakley, and they were seemingly destroyed in the shipping process; never saw the box and nobody notified me this happened, I had to reach out to see what was going on. Every pair was ordered from their respective official website.

How can I successfully get my hands on a pair of sunglasses?

Also, I am still waiting on my refund for the first two pairs.

Cream-Filled Eggo Swirlz

I was full blown addicted to these. My mom regretted ever buying a box because it’s all i wanted to eat. It got so bad that she had to taper me off of them, and then eventually they were never seen on shelves again.

They were little cinnamon swirls, filled with cream, and there were four swirls attached to each other to make a square, fitting perfectly in the toaster.

These weren’t available for very long, probably for good reason. They will have a warm place in my memory forever.

Any Shoe Recommendations?

I’m going for the light tan/plum color scheme to match my bike. Does anyone have shoe recommendations? I might just settle for white since there are many options, but maybe there is something good out there that I’m missing in light tan

Helmet: Specialized Propero 4 - Metallic Sandstone
Sunglasses: Maui Jim Hookipa - Maui Rose lens
Jersey: Rapha Core - off white
Bibs: Rapha Pro Team Powerweave: plum/quartz
Bike: 2025 Cervelo Soloist

This map is so good for practicing corners

I started using my analog stick differently for turning and now i can accurately drive through corners

Maui Jim Frame Warped

Bought a new pair of Hookipas since I like the original pair I’ve had for a couple years now. I just unboxed them today (tortoise frame, green “HT” lens) and they are noticeably warped. The pics attached are my two pairs sitting side by side, the black frame/bronze lens being my old pair.

At first l thought maybe the frame design had changed over the past two years, but when looking at just the new pair, they are uneven; the frame on one side has a sharper angle from the other side. They are not symmetrical.

Has anyone else experienced this with Maui Jim?

I have a RMA request in.

Wahoo elemnt bolt 3 Re-route

Is there anyway to re configure the reroute method that this device uses? If I go off course on any ride for even just half a mile, the reroute wants me to back-track to the spot that I left the route to continue, instead of realizing that I am now back on route.

For example, last night I was doing a 40 mile route. About half way though, I took a 2 mile shortcut that slit me back onto the route after the shortcut. I had to mute the gps because it kept beeping like crazy telling me to turn around. By the end of the ride, while I was on the route, the gps was still telling me to turn around and ride back to the point where I took the shortcut, adding 40 miles to the ride.

It sucks for group rides that I host because if the device thinks I dropped off the route for a fraction of a mile, or we decide to ride through the left side of the parking lot at a food/drink stop instead of the right side, the gps is basically fried. The last 3 group rides I hosted with my friends I was not able to use the gps after about 5 miles and had to continue based on memory and looking down at my screen every 10 seconds to make sure I’m not missing a turn

Anyone else have problems with the zipp rear hubs?

My soloist came with the reserve wheelset and zipp hubs, but after about 2000 miles, the rear hub has a lot of resistance in it (a lot). If I spin the rear wheel forward on a stand, the resistance causes the pedals to move with the wheel and the wheel quickly comes to a stop. Even with the rear wheel off the bike, and cassette off the wheel the same thing happens, massive resistance on the hub and it does not spin for long. I’ve removed the hub body, cleaned, regreased and same thing. It’s starting to annoy me because my old wheelset with Chinese bitex hubs spin 10x longer. Kindof at a loss here.

Terrible experience with Xbox elite series 2 controller

I bought this controller a few months ago for a couple games I play on pc that I prefer a controller on. My intention was to get an upgrade from the previous controllers I’d been using. Within a couple hours of use, the left stick had stick drift that covered 10-15% of the stick travel. Thankfully it’s not a big deal with the games I play but still kindof annoying that a controller this expensive would have this issue so early on. Continued using it for the past few months.

Fast forward today I put it on my lap to text someone and it slipped and fell into my carpeted floor. Visually there is nothing wrong, but both triggers are now stuck and cannot be pressed in. This is pretty ridiculous to have happened from such an insignificant drop.

Short legs/long torso

Im 5’8 with a 28 inch inseam. I switched from 170mm to 160mm cranks, and it feels much better. I have around 350 miles on the 160mm so far. Currently this fit feels really good, have done a couple 4 hour rides without any pain or numbness. Im curious how my saddle height is. People have told me it’s too low, and it does feel like it could be higher but I’m not sure.

Need shorter/longer stem?

I switched to 160mm cranks sense I have short legs, and it feels a lot better but I feel like there’s still something missing with my fit. I don’t have any pain and am comfortable on the bike, but at times I feel like I could benefit from longer reach

Do I need more/less reach?

I’m planning on switching to shorter cranks in the near future (currently 170mm) because I have shorter legs and longer torso than normal, I and I want to dial my reach in at the same time with a new stem if needed.

I don’t really have any problems with my current reach/don’t feel stretched out, but when I get into a lower position I feel a little cramped, as if a slightly longer stem would help, but I’m not sure. My bike came with a 100mm -8 stem.

To me it feels comfortable and I’ve done a few 50-60 mile rides on it so far with no issues, but I’m still not sure I have the right size. I have slightly shorter legs/longer torso for my height so I feel like like my fit is never perfect on any bike.

I rode in every position I’d find myself in on a long ride, the first two being the most frequent

I have a shorter inseam than average for my height, so after testing many bikes ranging from 51cm to 54cm, I found most to either be too cramped or have a more upright position due to needing to sit lower on bikes in my size. I landed on a 54cm soloist and dropping the stem, which feels really good so far after about 300 miles. Is there anything that should be changed? I’m thinking about going from the stock -8 stem to a -12, but I’m not sure yet.

Even when the app is closed, permissions fully restricted and while not riding, the app is decimating my phone battery to the point that my phone can’t even manage to get a full charge while charging over night. Phone goes from 80% to dead in just a couple hours while not even using it and every app is closed. The only fix is deleting the app. But with the Bolt3, the app is required to save and upload rides (also had problems with uploading rides)

I’m saddened because I really like using the bolt on my rides and I like the way it displays information and gps, but with not being able to upload rides half the time and it decimating my phone battery, I am considering returning it and trying something else.

Does anyone have a fix for this?

Trying to upload a ride to strava in the history tab. Ive tried restarting the app, restarting my phone, deauthorizing and reauthorizing strava connection, elemnt off/elemnt on. nothing works. Does anyone know how to fix this problem.

Oh yeah, tried to transfer the fit. file via usb to my pc, but apparently that feature has been discontinued even though it is advertised within the app.
