Best GO finds today in San Diego!
The chips will either be really good or really bad lol 😂. I’m most excited to try the spicy Korean noodles, but not in this insane heat! 🔥🥵

Considering moving to this area of North Park from PB. I only moved to SD a year ago so wasn’t familiar with specific areas at the time. Sick of the constant noise, everyone on wheels blowing through stop signs, and generally just feeling too old for PB. I also feel like I’m missing out on general neighborhood culture and experiences. It just seems like bars and drinking here, unless I’m missing something? I know now, big ole college area.
I’m a single, 44 year old female with two small dogs and a cat. I work from home so I value quiet, but also wouldn’t mind taking my laptop to a coffee shop every now and again. I love to ride my bike, take my dogs on adventures, wine bars, stand up comedy, live music, great restaurants, and artsy anything to scratch my creative itch. And I really want to meet more people in my age demographic. I also love paddle boarding and know I can just drive to wherever I want to go.
Can ya’ll please advise…does North Park sound like the right neighborhood for me? I just don’t want to move away from the beach and regret it. However, I literally hate my current living situation and my overbearing landlord who lives on the property.
TIA! I know my fellow Redditors will keep it real with the comments, advice, feedback, etc.✌🏻😀🚲🐶
They certainly prefer calmer water! 🌊🐟
Denise: “You were a fashion victim from the womb.”
Kenny: “Thank you. I’ve gotten better since then.”
Denise: “Yeah, if you need to fit a family of five in your pants!”
I (female) went there for the first time last Saturday. It was busy but my friend and I found a spot at the bar. We ordered burgers and that came out in a decent amount of time and tasted pretty good. The bartenders were friendly and made a great whiskey sour.
My male friend went out to smoke a cigarette then out of nowhere the younger guy sitting next to me at the bar turned toward me and just randomly bit me hard in the arm! I told the staff immediately. I was rightfully upset and it seemed like they believed me because the guy that did it wasn't exactly denying it. And his friends were acting dumb like it was a funny joke.
I was looking to the staff to say or do something because they kind of just stood there, and told them to look at their security video if they didn't believe me. I had nice and friendly interactions with the staff while I'd been there so I assumed they'd take it seriously. I also showed them my arm, which showed a very visible bruise from where I was bit. And I told them I heard them say his friends dared him to do it, which is crazy!
About 10 minutes later the female bartender came back up to me and said "we found it on the video and saw him bite you." At that point I thought they would've kicked the group out of the bar but they didn't, which was disappointing. My mind was kinda blown because is this somehow acceptable behavior?
It was nice to be validated and believed in the end. But I had been adamant the entire time, and also, who makes something like that up? I do think they should’ve taken assault and battery more seriously. I definitely left after that!
Don’t know why, just giving a head’s up. If anyone knows why, I’m curious. Tariff’s? 🤑
My OG Flip 4 got run over by a pickup truck a couple weeks ago. 😮 I found exactly one link on Amazon for a new Flip 4. I figured hell, let’s replace and get another to bring to the beach and have personal stereo session x 2 with this beast.
I think they’re real but what say you? They’re both sealed in the box with no misspelling or blatant fakeness. This is my absolute favorite JBL speaker I’ve ever had. IYKYK.
Summer just got better or I’ve been had. 😎🔈🎶🎸
Update: They work! They don’t hold a charge out of the box. Al said to charge for like 10-12 hours bc their battery has been sleeping since 2017. Plugged in for two hours and almost fully charged! Yay! 😀☀️🔥✨🎸🎧
It just feels right on top of my fridge. Swapped my One (Gen 2) for this. On top of the fridge, will the sound fill the room? It’s a pretty small kitchen and I plan to Trueplay it tomorrow.
Or would I benefit more with vertical placement? I love the size too. It’s not too big or heavy, and I like that fits like a glove up there.
Anyone with a Play:3 got any tips, tricks, settings, songs, etc you recommend to make the experience more awesome and enjoyable? I heard this one is the GOAT so my expectations are pretty high. So it’s now 9 speakers and a sub for me. Definitely didn’t need it but I wanted it lol. 😂
I actually passed on the Symfonisk picture frame speaker on Sunday at IKEA bc it was so heavy and bulky. I had a feeling that was a sign that I’d find the Play:3 I’ve been looking for months and it only took two days! 😀✨🎶🎸🔈

Long overdue but here goes. He’s still an inconsiderate prick. Has friends over past 1am then F’d some girl until 1:30am. Walls paper thin so heard her moaning but the kicker was the literal slamming of the bed frame against my wall. I guess he’s a doctor and needs his sleep until he wants a piece of ass. Happened 2x. When I asked the landlord why it’s ok that he does it but I can’t, I get some half ass excuse like “oh I didn’t hear them.”
He also constantly blocks the side gate with his damn bike so I have to literally squeeze through. After he leaves for work I always have to move the damn heavy thing over so it’s not blocking the already narrow path. I also got sick of him blocking the gate that goes into the patio area. He’s an idiot and wouldn’t just pull his massive pickup truck up against the bumper so I can clear it when I get my bike out. Be confronted me and told me I should’ve just asked him to move it. I did ask him to move it and I showed him that my very large beach cruiser can’t clear it and it was like talking to a brick wall.
But he told me he was being accommodating by switching spots in the driveway. Since nothing was done I took my original spot back. He said he gave it to me so he was being nice. Or I could’ve just asked him. Um, I did ask you. You kept parking farther back. Like I guess he didn’t understand what pulling all the way up means. So I get a lecture from him one day about how I’m the problem. Um no, when I have asked you to move, you ignore me.
Landlord lives on property and she’s a joke of a landlord. He can do no wrong, even past the time we’re supposed to have people over and be allowed to make noise. She was like “oh it’s ok, it was a housewarming.” So rules apply to me but not him I guess. She definitely treats him like a saint. I see this coddling with him, but to her I’m just a complainer, I’m loud (I’m not, and wear headphones after 10pm too), and I’m “difficult”. She also lied about the size of my unit on the Zillow listing that I unfortunately never saw in person. She said it was 550 square feet interior space on the ad. It’s actually 388, which is the size of an entire bedroom.
All I get from my landlord is a giant Ahole who tells me I’m just complaining. Mind you, she hates me bc I told her to stop looking in my windows and through my door. She has no boundaries and doesn’t respect my privacy. She thinks she can come in any time she likes. She accused me of “ruining her place” bc the old ceramic kitchen sink she reglazed has normal wear and tear. It’s a ceramic sink and there’s a plastic placemat down inside, but she accused me of ruining it bc I literally use it.
She swears at me constantly. She is in her 50’s with an old school mentality (Eastern European). The last tenant moved out bc she refused to pay his medical bills when her dog bit him. She doesn’t care that I have to work, doesn’t respect me, my privacy, and is overall rude and nasty all the time. She’s never ever respected the 24 hours notice rule.
She blames me for the “plumber” that she hired and didn’t even charge her labor for ruining the pipe bc I guess he didn’t know how to fix it. He even told her he’s not a licensed plumber. So I’m to blame bc he couldn’t fix it when he said he could? I didn’t hire him, she did! She’s so F’ing cheap and won’t fix anything in my unit. She was forced to when the 20 year old water heater went out two weeks ago.
I stopped doing my laundry in her garage bc she was constantly touching my clothes and I won’t give access for me to do it on my own. I’ve never met a bigger control freak in my life, and honestly hate it here. It’s ironic she calls me miserable bc I’m like yeah, I’m miserable bc you won’t leave me alone and give me privacy that I’m entitled to. She said I should be grateful she fixed the water heater. Umm, what? You’re F’ing supposed to! That’s what I pay for!
She hates me bc I told her to leave me alone, respect that I WFH and have to be on calls, that I don’t want her looking in my windows and doors. I keep everything shut now. I blocked her on text bc she’s always a rude B and she was pissed bc I didn’t answer (bc I blocked her!), so obviously didn’t get the messages. The same night I got home from walking my dogs and she comes outside and says “do you know how to read?”
I’m tired of this harassment, verbal abuse, constantly trying to control me, etc. She said she hated me and told me verbally she’d let me out of my lease early bc I’m “ruining her property”. I’ve never ever been treated with such distain by anyone. I guess the previous neighbor was a pushover, did her favors like picking her up from the airport and dogsitting her dog. She hates my guts bc I stand up for myself and tell her no, and exercise my rights as a tenant. According to her, that makes me miserable. I don’t understand why this person is a landlord. I think to her that means she gets all the control.
Conclusion: I’ll be moving out early once I find the best place for myself and my 3 animals. I am not putting up with these two pieces of 💩 much longer. I hate her SOOOO MUCH! I have MANY MORE stories about her craziness so chat me if you want to hear even more ridiculousness!
My aunt and uncle coming in town tomorrow for a week. They are in their mid-60s. How’s my starter list of fun stuff? Trying to mix in local stuff with a little touristy but only the stuff that is worth it. They can’t walk obscene amounts so chill spots with a view. Unfortunately they aren’t the types to ride bikes.
I know it’s super busy with a holiday week so I also want to be realistic with them about crowds. And maybe make changes on what’s worth it and what’s overrated. I am also driving them around so they won’t have a rental car. My uncle only wants to do two specific things, and my aunt says she just wants to eat and drink lol.
I want to ensure they’re happy, not too tired, and that they have fun! Thank you! 😊
Liberty Public Market - taking them here after their flight
Whaley House (Uncle pick) - best HH margaritas and food?
USS Midway (Uncle pick) - best seafood waterfront dining with a view downtown?
Coronado Island - Hotel Del Coronado, shopping
Mission Beach - near their hotel
La Jolla - watch hang gliders and see coves
Little Italy - walk around and dinner outside (we are Italian - would love a dinner rec with handmade pasta, awesome calamari, and amazing wine)
Chula Vista - My uncle is on dialysis and will be getting treatment 3 afternoons here. Will have some time to kill in the afternoon with my aunt for about 3 hours. Any good lunch, cool shopping including thrift and mom and pop shops, wine/beer places to kill time? Maybe pop in for lunch somewhere in downtown SD?
*Disclaimer - I myself have only lived here since last October and I haven’t even done the most of the touristy spots.
I can only find information about a livestream from previous years. Anyone know if there is one this year? I wanna see Duran Duran!
