Just to confirm, one of these stamps is good for a post card to mail internationally? There’s no price on the stamp but it says ‘2020 Global USA Forever’.

Order got ruined because of a dog!

Y’all I can’t believe this happened 💔 I ordered a dress from Depop and the seller just messaged me saying that their dog got into the shipping box and tore the dress. First of all, that sucks for the seller because she’s not getting my money. Second of all, that sucks for me because it was such a cute dress for a great price! I’m upset.

She refunded me & apologized and I messaged back saying “it’s okay” but boy I’m holding back so much I wanted to say “Maybe you shouldn’t let your destructive dog around your orders next time”. Just ugh.

It made me think of how destructive dogs are in general; I don’t know why, but every book and movie I’ve been reading/watching has featured a dog causing chaos or destroying something, and it’s never seen as an issue, they just scold the dog like it’s a child and move on. Can’t even escape dogs in media. I don’t know why our society has normalized these creatures.

Finally tried pork for the first time 🙌🎉🐖

Guys I’m so happy! I’m 21 years old and for the first time I ate pork.

Now, I’ve consumed gelatin in gummies before but that doesn’t really count since idk what the meat tasted like. For context, I’m kinda a picky eater especially when it comes to meat - I don’t like lamb, turkey, fish. I mainly eat chicken.

I also still live with my parents so unfortunately I can’t buy pork to eat at home, I have to secretly eat it when I’m with my friends at a restaurant.

So I went to this Japanese place with my friend and I ordered pork dumplings. I was SOO nervous because I was scared I wouldn’t like it and I would have wasted my money. But I took a bite and really liked it, honestly would have thought it was chicken! I felt so free lol. That was just an appetizer so I went ahead and took a big step to order pork cutlets. It was sooo freaking good, succulent texture and the taste wasn‘t unpleasant unlike some other meats, again it’s quite similar to chicken.

Next up for me to try the next time I hang out with a friend: Bacon 🥓

Still haven’t tried pepperoni, chicharrones, Jamon Iberico, Italian sausage, and prosciutto. Not to mention all sorts of East Asian pork dishes.

I got a whole world ahead of me lol! It’s such a huge restriction when I think about how popular pork is in most regions - Europe, Latin America, North America, and East/Southeast Asia. Would love to explore local foods from these places with no restrictions.

Please help guide us on what region to move to in Virginia!! 🙏

Hey guys! I live in Arizona & I’ve been wanting to move out of this shithole for the past 10 years. Grew up in upstate New York as a child and I miss the east coast but that’s besides the point. I’m trying to figure out what area of Virginia to move to with my family.

  • Don’t want it to be somewhere too rural and sparse, but not too urban either. Definitely don’t want to live in the southwestern region. Not sure if I’m attracted to the idea of living in NOVA as it seems too dense & expensive.
  • Charming with nice things to do, not just grey parking lots and Walmart.
  • Should be a friendly safe area and a good place to raise a family w good public  schools.
  • A place where you can buy a 2 story home for a good price, budget is probably $600k max, but up to $550k would be most preferable.
  • I think Charlottesville looks lovely (and I love how you can take the train to NYC) but not sure if it fulfills all of these? Maybe it’s too expensive? There are SO many different regions in Virginia and it’s making my head hurt to research each city one by one. Hoping a native can help.

Can’t find anything that sounds like La Petite Fille De La Mer

To me, La Petite Fille de la Mer evokes dreaminess, the color lavender, nighttime air, moonlight, a lone white unicorn, nostalgia, and slight melancholy. I love the twinkly, lullaby-like sound. The CLOSEST song I can find to it is Invadable Harmony’s Once Upon A Dream. It also has that twinkly sound, sounds like nighttime, and is slightly melancholic. Both are beautiful instrumentals.

But seriously La Petite Fille de la Mer is just perfection, I can’t find anything as dreamy as it. To me it sounds like this: 🦢🌜🕯️🪻✨🌠🎠🌊🌫️

the name Lucifer.

So, my son is due in October and I am so stumped with names.

I really REALLY like the name Lucifer. the sound, the original meaning "light-bringer“ or “morning star,” the fact that its so unique. But, this name still obviously has a horrible stigma around it. Based off of threads I've seen from a few years ago, people act like its a horrible parenting decision to choose this name, like its child abuse or something. I personally don't think fellow parents from my generation (Gen-Z) or their children would react as negatively to the name as previous generations. I would of course give my son the option to change his name/go by something else (like Lucy) if it really became a problem and began to bother him.

I myself am not Christian, I'm a noahide (non-jew who believes in the Torah), but my entire family is Christian as well as my husband's. If we decide to name him Lucifer, we are only expecting negative reactions from them but that's not a huge concern. We are more concerned about how he will be treated by others, especially adults. I also don't want it to impact his ability to get a job or anything in the future.

I guess my question for everyone is, how would you react if you met a kid named Lucifer? How do you think your kids would react? Is it really that big of a deal?

If you want to try to convince me to pick a different name for him, these are the names I was originally leaning towards:

-Lucas

-Lucien

-Lucius

but I don't like these as much. I was considering "Lucius" as a compromise but it just doesn't feel right I guess. I also was trying to avoid common names. I had a lot of earthy names picked out if I were to have a girl, so i really like earthy names as well but I can't find any boy ones. I'm trying to avoid single-syllable names as well.

I feel bad for saying this, but spending thousands of dollars on medical care for your dog is lunacy.

My dad had a customer who was crying, telling him about his dog. I think the dog was really sick or something? Point is, the customer said he spent $10,000 (TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS) on medical expenses at the animal hospital and is now broke. And, the dog is still not well.

Now, I found this to be absolutely ridiculous. This is the type of money that you’d spend on your HUMAN family like your parents or kids. Why would you spend that amount on a dog? If the dog is ill, well, as cruel as it sounds, just let nature take its course. (Unless you’re rich and can afford to spend $10k...)

Like, it’s a DOG. They only live 10-13 years. They’re not humans with long lives. I get it, you love your pet, but are they worth going into debt for?

This is the type of dog nuttery that we talk about on here. It’s like when people talk about how they don’t know if they would save a dog or baby. People have forgotten that dogs are just ANIMALS, who don’t even live for a long time, and are not the equivalent of your human loved ones who should live decades. Again I get it, you care for your dog, it’s sad that he’s ill, but come on.

What EXTREMELY common name would you use if it wasn’t so common?

This is different for every country, and of course some people on here might not care how common their kid’s name is, but I know a lot do including me.

For reference I live in the U.S.

So for girls I would love Emma and Sophia. Emma is just ridiculously common, genuinely so many girls at school and public figures have this name, but I dunno I do really like it. It feels classy and feminine, but at the same time can fit all sorts of personalities. Sophia is slightly less common but still quite popular. I like the way it flows, and I love that it means wisdom. Also, I do like Amelia but I meet so many little girls with this name.

For boys I would love Alexander and James. I just loveee Alexander. James sounds so nice to me, and kind of soft, plus I like the nickname Jay. Additionally I love Lucas and it’s one of my top 10 contenders for a boy, I like that it means “light”, I just hate how common it is.

World cup sounding song?

I don’t know if this is actually a world cup song, but it is a very recognizable, global song. I think I’ve heard it play over a soccer/coca cola commercial on TV.

Description:

- Male singer

- Possibly Spanish or Portuguese but could be English

- It goes like “Da da daaa da, da da daaa da, viva la da, lalalala”

I tried searching for world cup songs and it seems to be none of them, it’s not We Are One by Pitbull.
