My personal reasons for wanting a child

I thought you guys would appreciate this!!!

  1. This is the biggest one for me: I am very happily married and I adore my husband to bits and I can't wait to have a child who is a living, breathing manifestation of our love.

  2. Since I love my husband so much, having a child that is 50% him, 50% me and 100% the both of us is so beautiful

  3. My husband unfortunately won't be around forever, and God forbid when that day comes, at least I will have our child which will look like him to comfort me. A part of him will always exist. Vice versa if I pass first.

  4. Building on the third reason, the only evidence of my existence that will last is my child and my grandchildren and my great grandchildren. I will live on through them

  5. The emotional value of raising a child with my husband. Telling him I'm pregnant, seeing the happy look on his face, doing a maternity photoshoot, seeing him hold our baby for the first time, seeing him play with our baby, having our baby smile at me, hearing them say dada/mama, when they are older I will tell them all about how much I love their dad and about how we met and how he was when he was younger, showing them our wedding pictures, going on vacations with them etc

I had a talk with a Christian woman today and it was mind boggling

So, I'm not sure where the conversation started but we got onto the subject of children. I mentioned how terrified I was of pregnancy and birth, but I'm still going to do it once so my husband and I could be parents. And at first she was empathetic and even admitted she was terrified of pregnancy too and her husband also said she had a very difficult pregnancy and he hated to see her in so much pain. And then after a while she started being super dismissive of what I was saying, saying that pregnancy and birth wasn't that bad and even started insulting me, saying I was a demon and satanic and saying that feminism is cancer. Which is insane because I never even mentioned feminism???

Like, of course it's someone's choice to have however many kids they want but don't act like pregnancy and birth aren't extremely painful, and don't act like women are bad for not wanting 10 months of torture.

Any common fiance visa tips or mistakes you can avoid that you'd like to share?

Hey guys, so I've applied, we are in the process of uploading documents, and my biometrics is next week. Would anyone like to share any small tips or mistakes that I should avoid? I just want to make sure I'm not missing something obvious haha.

I've applied! Now, am I missing anything for the biometrics appointment?

Hello everyone! I applied yesterday (finally!!!) and I've booked the bio appointment for next Tuesday. I've printed out the UK document checklist, the VFS appointment letter (the one with the QR code) and I'm obviously going to take my new and old passport. Is there anything else I need to carry? (I'm going to be uploading all my documents on the self upload so I don't need anything scanned)

I'm in Kenya specifically if that's relevant.

Why I don't buy the whole only child sob story shtick

First of all let me say every feeling is valid, and I'm not here to criticize only children who feel lonely, but I don't like it when people say you should have multiple children because only children complain about being lonely, because guess what? Every person from every single sibling order complains!

Oldest children complain that they have too much responsibility on them
Middle children complain that no one pays attention to them
Youngest children complain that everyone sees them as spoiled

So, no matter what order you are in your family, you should try and see the positives rather than the negatives

I love my nephew

So, my sister has a 4-month old nephew and is currently pregnant with her second child. And because of this, she is staying with me for emotional and physical support. I love being able to take care of my sister at this critical time, and while it was a hard adjustment, I love caring for my nephew. He loves me so much, he has this huge smile whenever he sees me. There are times when he's crying and I pick him up and he goes quiet. When he's awake, I sing songs to him, and he loves 'Daisy Daisy'. He's so cute and loving. He loves doing tummy time and I read stories to him. He also sleeps for long stretches in the day and almost throughout the night so I still have plenty of time to play videogames and watch my shows and listen to songs. He's such a wonderful baby.

I'm taking care of my 4-month old nephew and it is heaven

I know I'm not a mother yet but still wanted to share some positivity. I'm taking care of my 4 month old nephew because my sister is pregnant again and she needs the emotional and physical support. I'm blessed to be a housewife so I don't have to work and can help her out. It's very easy and fully cemented my decision to be one and done (I was already planning on being one and done before this but this experience helped out a lot) he sleeps almost all the way through the night (maybe wakes up only once) and sleeps for stretches of time during the day, so I have more than enough time to do my hobbies. When I'm burping him or just caring for him we sing songs together and he loves 'Daisy Daisy'. My sister and I also play Uno together and I hold him or she holds him. During tummy time, I read him nice stories and sing for him as well.

Honestly, I feel like this would have been way worse with a toddler. The toddler would likely have been waking him up. Of course I'm not disparaging two+ kid households but it's not for me personally.
Now, I know a lot of people will tell me I might change my mind after I have my own child, and that might be true, but for now, my OAD future looks bright <3

Questions about proving financial evidence

So, my fiance uses NatWest bank, and put aside 25k for the savings requirement on February 11. NatWest gives out monthly statements at the end of each month (at least for us) so we have that for End of February, March, April, May, June, and July. But we need to show he has the savings up until August 11. I thought we would still be able to show the list of transactions. My solicitor is also saying that we need to get them signed and stamped but they are online PDFs? So does my fiance need to print them out and get them signed and stamped by the bank? Here's what I'm asking

- Can I apply with a list of transactions on August 11 with a list of transactions or do I need to wait until the end of August to apply?
- Do I need to get them signed and stamped as well?
- If I apply on August 11th, but the biometric appointment is at a later date, say at the end of August, will the letter from the employer (signed on July 22nd) still be valid?

For those who did fiance visa, how long did it take you to get your marriage certificate?

I'm getting married on March 27th 2026, and I'm planning to move on Nov 10, that would give me about a month and ten days to get my marriage certificate and apply for spouse extension. However I've been thinking of moving on Nov 1 instead which would only give me 1 month. I want to make sure I meet the timeline of giving notice (10 days to live there + 70 days to give notice)

Do UKVI accept NatWest's list of transactions as financial evidence? (for fiance visa)

So he's the situation, we would like to apply on August 12, around 6 months after my fiance, who uses NatWest, placed 25k into a savings account on Feb 11. We have the end of February, March, April, May, June, July bank statements, but because NatWest doesn't provide interim bank statements, we instead can download the list of transactions which looks almost identical to the bank statements except that it doesn't have his name on it, but it has the same account number so I'm sure they can tell it's him.

Is it okay to submit this or should I wait until I have the end of August statement?

I started getting into reading thriller books recently, and out of nowhere my husband built me a mini bookshelf!

My husband is a machinist and has experience making furniture. Recently, I've been reading some thriller books (Alice Feeney and Freida McFadden) and my husband, without even being asked, built me a mini bookshelf and painted it for me! He's such a loving, wonderful man. Happily married 2.5 years!

Financial requirement savings question

Hello! So my fiance earns 28,500 a year, which is 500 pound short of the financial requirement, so we opted to put aside some money to use as cash savings evidence, we would need around 17,250 so we set aside about 24,000 in a cash savings account from February. However, for a couple months the amount went down to 21,500, but when we apply (Aug 12) it will be around 25,000 in that account.

When, in the application they ask you how much money is in the account should we say 25,000 (the amount currently) or 21,500 (the lowest amount it's been in the past 6 months)?

Anyone tradwives here who are one and done or who plan to be one and done?

I love my husband dearly but I do not want more than one child. I'm quite traditional in other aspects though.

When they ask 'When did you first meet your partner' do they mean meet IRL or either online or IRL?

Reason I'm asking is because I met my fiance online, begun a relationship online, and then met him IRL 6 months later, so I have to put my date of meeting as October 2023 but date of beginning of relationship as March 2023. Is that okay?

Is this enough to show that interest in giving notice?

I took a screenshot of the enquiry message before I sent it. Is this enough or do I have to wait until they message me back?

Is this enough evidence for a fiance visa?

Hey guys, I'm sorry I'm posting here a lot, I'm just really anxious about applying in a couple weeks. Is this enough evidence for genuine relationship and intent to marry? We have been together 3 years 4 months and have met IRL four times.

Genuine and subsisting relationship

Relationship timeline (Meeting online, trips, engagement etc)
20 pictures of us together (including with his father, my mother etc)
Flights, hotel bookings, visas and passport stamps that show my fiance has visited me 4 times and his dad has visited me twice
27 phone call screenshots from 2023 to 2026
20 message screenshots from 2023 to 2026 including 2 from our family group chat
2 screenshots from my Instagram account showing him in the photo and tagged
Engagement ring receipt
Letter of support from his dad

Proof of intention to marry
Letter from me detailing our relationship and our intention to marry
Letter from him with the same
Email between me, my fiance and the vicar of the church we will get married at, including the date we intend to marry
Reception hall deposit
Wedding photographer deposit
Wedding cake maker deposit
Wedding rings receipt
Picture of me trying on a wedding dress

Anything else we should add?
