I’m sorry mods, but I need to inform people of a beware scam since I think some people here don’t realize there are beware posts in reddit, just horimiya and stuff

Alright now that I have your attention

Beware of a Scam going around on reddit, if an account accuses you of sending suspicious links or something illegal that you haven’t do anything wrong, you have to ask if they really got the right account, if they sent an account that doesn’t exist, type the specific username the account sent, if it doesn’t exist when you click on it,, it’s a scam,

To be more specific, ask if they reported you, and if they said yes, ask for the report ticket, if the report ticket listed a discord ID, an example: benjblok188 or benjblok67, it’s a scam, do not fall for it, why would a social media contain information of another social media, I’m aware of discorddit but they don’t use the real discord usernames of the people who actually use both discord and reddit

REMEMBER! I fell for it because I never reported anyone and I was scared I did something wrong, I don’t wanna get banned again so I was scared to get banned for something I didn’t even do

(MUST READ ALL) Someone recently accused me of sending suspicious links that turned out to be scam, when I asked them if they got the wrong person, they did, but by then it was too late, they reported me and now reddit refused to listen to them despite telling them they got the wrong person, my user is different, I don’t have a 3 in my user, im afraid I could get wrongly terminated for something I never did

The only links I sent were the link to my story and even then it links to reddit stories and not a random website

u/kenjiehere my user, u/kenjieher3 the scammer’s user, which they likely deleted, because when I first made my account I changed my username once

According to Reddit, you only edit your username once, which means I ran out of username edits the second I hit click, meaning that account is not mine nor have I ever even knew that account existed

And worse, when I clicked on the impersonators account, it said nobody goes by that name on reddit
