Should I replace alternator?

We’ve been out of town for a week and our cars have been sitting. My wife has a 2015 jeep compass 2.4L and when we first got home she used it to go 10 miles or so. About an hour later I tried to move it to mow and it was completely dead. I’ve had to use a battery charger on it each time to start it since and this morning while returning rental it completely died as she was driving. I had to keep charger connected and hood open on top of it to get home. Went to obd2 test it and as soon as I take charger off battery car dies. Advance tested battery, said it’s good. Everything points to alternator, but it was just changed in April 2025. I just hate to tear into the car and pull alternator if there’s a chance I’m missing something, if you’ve ever changed an alternator on a jeep compass you understand why.

09 Silverado 1500 park light won’t flash

Hey guys, need an inspection sticker and my park light on drivers side won’t flash. It stays on when headlights are running or park lights engaged but it won’t flash when I hit signals or hazards…i tried swapping bulb and didn’t help, put a complete light wiring harness on 2 years ago, it still looks solid, the wiring harness it connects into doesn’t look new and there was a black wire that had a bare marker I I retaped but all the wire was there and didn’t look burnt…fuses were good, but there has to be something I’m missing…. the bottom turn signal flashes, so usually I’d just go with it, but the park light on passenger side flashes with signals and hazards so feel pretty sure they’ll deny me…. Any tips or suggestions would be much appreciated!

Hardscaping around garden

I’m using some concrete blocks to seal off our small garden, about 46’ total. On the front side (not pictured), the ground was kinda wavy, high low high low, so I dug a trench to give me even ground. On this back section, there’s about an 8.5”-9” difference in level from the near side of building to the far (mickey) side over about 12’. Should I dig down the high side and build up with stone or would it be okay to just lay it up the incline as is. Only going about 3 stones high and it’s a home project, not paid job.

New radio doesn’t have sound

Friend at work has an 05 Camry se with built in jbl sound system. He bought a new head unit off Amazon and a Chinese wiring harness. He connected wiring harness and had power but no sound. The wiring harness has an amp in wire off to the side that wasn’t in use, so we assumed that’s why he had no sound. We snipped his blue amplifier wire from the cars wiring harness and spliced it with the head units amp wire and still no sound. Anybody have any ideas?

Milwaukee m12 3/8 cordless ratchet

Anybody have experience with this? I have tons of tools, plenty of ratchets, but I like to invest in better/newer tools. If you have one, do you use it often? Is it worth the buy. I’m not a mechanic by trade, but I do most of the work on my families cars. What’s some other Milwaukee products you guys really enjoy? I have a lot of kobalt and dewalt since I only have a lowes in my town, but looking to start picking up Milwaukee tools…thanks for any input!

Bought a lawnmower, was sputtering and wanting to quit, especially with blades engaged. Cleaning carburetor and there was some black stuff under the bowl. Once I cleaned it I noticed they were leaving indentions on carb under bowl. Assuming it won’t affect the way it runs as long as it doesn’t leak?

My wife has been wanting a bike to ride with my daughters, as well as riding on her own to replace running some days. I would like to get her something nice, wondering if there’s any suggestions. Riding will be done mostly on paved roads, probably no more than 6 miles at a time in a place with a lot of hills. Have looked at a couple retrospec and there’s a schwinn admiral 700c 7 speed that she likes as well. Looking to speed 300-500. Small town, so not a lot of bike shops in our radius, kind of wal mart or online shopping.

Bought this mower at a really good price, but wouldn’t start. The starter solenoid had fallen into the belt pulley and came unplugged. I have it up and running, but where is the starter solenoid supposed to mount? I have it mounted right behind the battery, is this good or should I move it?
