Late in 2025, I had Eyesight drop out a few times. It would self-clear upon restart. I took no action, the problem seeming self-fixing. In early 2026, a random stranger dropped a big rock off an overpass, destroying my windshield. Since my insurance is liability, not full damage, I paid about $1K to have the glass replaced with non-OEM Fuyao. The new glass calibrated fine, and I drove the car 4 months with zero issues.

Then Eyesight began to drop out more consistently, and within a week wouldn't recover across restarts. I asked the glass shop about this. They performed a new calibration, static and dynamic, with an ADAS score of 99/100. Eyesight worked for one more week before shutting off and staying off.

The tech said that at the time of the initial glass install, they'd never seen any issues with Fuyao glass, but that during the 4 months of no problems, they saw one more case like mine, and 2 customers with newer Subarus had sought calibration services with OEM glass, and the problem in all 3 cases turned out to be a mechanical defect with the camera system that doesn't throw codes, and that only Subaru dealers have the resources to fix. He advised me to take the car to a dealer. He also said that if the non-OEM glass was to blame, it would never calibrate, let alone work perfectly for months.

The dealer immediately blamed the non-OEM glass, before conceding that if that were true, it wouldn't calibrate in the first place. They then said that the camera system wasn't clipped in properly, blaming the glass shop, and charged me $660 to fix that and re-calibrate.

The glass shop guy, who seems very competent and professional, protests that he knows perfectly well how to clip the cameras in, and did so correctly both times he calibrated it, saying Subaru hasn't fixed the underlying issue.

So now I'm waiting to see if Eyesight holds over time. If it fails again, I think the glass shop was right, and Subaru should comp me for the false diagnosis and non-fix, and fix the real issue under warranty. If Eyesight holds, I guess maybe the glass shop did get the camera bracket install wrong.

recently returned from a camping trip where I slept in a hammock for the first time. my nighttime health stats went through the roof—and dipped when I went back to a bed. i believe the data and want to covert to full time hammock sleeping but could use some help!

I rent, and have an old house with plaster walls (over brick) and bad window positioning for a hanging install. Tensa4 looks like the best overall option for a floor setup, but also appears to be space intensive in the Z direction. I have a big room so it’s not impossible, but curious if anyone uses the wooden U stands or even a simple metal option? not asking about a yard hammock—really I mean a full time sleeping hammock.

ideally, my mattress will soon be donated to the local rat community.

found good posts about choosing a hammock, probably go with a cotton LaSiesta & I’m ~5’8” and 130lbs. but please advise on best set up!
