Collab Overlays for OBS?

Ive seen a streamer include the webcam of another streaming into his own stream when they do collabs. Can anyone point me in the right direction for doing this in OBS?

If, alternatively I wanted to use characters (avatars?) Instead of cams, would that be going into vtuber territory?

What happens if/when a goal is met? Is a payout expected?

Theres a LOT of elements on Twitch that Im still very very new to. One is goals and the pay out for meeting them.

I currently have a goal with a progress bar on my stream in an effort to reach 25 followers. This is one of the remaining 2 achievements I have to make in order to reach Affiliate. While reaching the goal is a clear benefit to me, what would be a reasonable payout for those that followed and helped, and is one even expected? If I follow someone and it helps them reach a goal, I personally don't expect anything other than the happy feeling that I helped.

Also, it might be worth noting that even if 25 followers were reached, i still have to do the whole 3 viewers 4 times thing. Which Im still pretty unsure about.

EDIT: SOOOO Sorry!!! The title was meant to be "... Is a payout to viewers/followers expected"
Im not asking if/what the payout or advantage is to me.

A combination of Plugin's making everything except bottom source invisible.

This was a last minute inquiry before going live. I can't close out OBS atm. Will add log asap after stream.
I'm trying to create a layout in OBS for Tiktok, but when I use a specific plugin, everything but the bottom source image (the backround) becomes invisible to viewers. They just see the background.

So I have the following vertical scene (Aitums Vertical) setup from top source to bottom:

> Browser source - Gamepad Viewer
> Video Capture Device - Canon EOS
> Game Capture - Kingdom Hearts 2
> Heres the source with Issues -
_ Exeldros "Source Clone" as source (using the Kingdom Hearts 2 Game Capture)
_ Finitesingularitys "Composite Blur" Filter
>Background

Even if I remove the filter, I get the same issue, everything but the very bottom source image is invisible. I have to delete, or hide at the very least, the "Source Clone" source for the scenes full layout to be visible.

Does anyone know if there is a fix to the "Source Clone" plug-in issue?

Anyway to add Casterlabs Code for multi chat to Streamlabs Chatbox?

I have Streamlabs chatbox setup as an OBS overlay for my twitch feed. Separately, I have Casterlabs for multi-chat, in order to have Twitch, Youtube, and Tiktok chat all in one OBS dock.

Is there any way to include Casterlabs source code (or whatever) added to a Streamlabs chatbox, so that I can have the esthetics of Streamlabs chat box, but the multi-chat feed from Casterlabs?

Any way to just view chat through TikFinity or as OBS Dock? (NOT overlay)

Found solution: Casterlabs. Allows you to seen each platform chat, or even all at once, and have it in a custom dock in OBS

Anyone familiar with Gamepad Viewer custom skin setup?

I'm working on custom Xbox skins for gamepad viewer. I have the base design... But whenever I try to load it into css, or in gpv 2 beta, the controller goes invisible on the site. Though oddly, the controller remains the same in obs.

I really need help with the setup process.

Is there a widget, a specific enemy kill counter?

My wife has shown me tiktoks in the past of streamers having some pretty amazing things, like allowing viewers to affect the game itself. Ive also seen death counters. Im curious if there is any way to have a kill count for a specific enemy in a game. For instance, Im about to start KH 2.5. Itd be cool to have 2 counters keeping track of all the shadows and dusks that I eliminate. Is this possible?

in other scenarios, when streamers have counters for actions, deaths, phrases, whatever... are the streamers themselves hitting a stream deck button or something. They seem almost instantaneous, even while the stream is in the middle of the battle. Though I know I seen these things for games like Red Dead 2, its been almost a year and I have know idea what streamers they were.

Anyone restream.io?

I got a notification from tiktok that I have a 120-day extension on my live stream access. I pursued options for tiktok through OBS and came across iostream that actually seems to be supported by tiktok. However, when I try to set it up, it says "Tiktok hasn't approved your account". I try to "apply" but I haven't been approved yet.

Has anyone had experience with restream.io? I REALLY want to include tiktok to my multistream.

How to set Welcome to chat room message/command thru Nightbot to trigger automatically, like twitch default message?

I think this falls under technical, but maybe content.

So, I know that you have to go through Nightbot to change Welcome to Chat Room message, but Im confused about the Hi command. As a viewer on streams myself, I would find no interest in typing !hi just to see custom message. As a streamer, Id prefer that viewers don't have to type in anything just to see the message either, because its highly unlikely they'll go through the extra step.

Is there a way to set the message to trigger automatically for a viewer when they join the stream, even as lurker, same as Twitch default message?

Any suggestions how youd make this into clips, or must it be highlight?

Ive been streaming a puzzle game called Myst, along with its sequels, Riven and Exile. Many of the puzzles take quite a while to complete, some are an accumulation of clues or actions that span the whole game. There are "small"-ish set of puzzles that I really want to put on Tiktok and Instagram, but even clipped to just puzzle related footage (maybe I could speed up a bit), the video is like 20 mins. I REALLY want to post on tiktok and instagram as currently my social is nearly non-existent. I struggle greatly figuring out what footage is post worthy. And I have 220hrs of streaming in already. Idk if its self-doubt, or if my streams are just boring. When I watch them, they don't seem "boring" the do seem engaging, but nothing special stands out. Even while Im playing I don't find much where Im like "oh ya, clip that! Thats gold". IUf I do, oonce I look at it again, Im like "Why did I clip that? Thats garbage" and then delete (If anyone is willing, I could really really use some coaching in this regard). I know the rule of thumb is clips should be no more than a minute. So is this an absolute no go? Should it only be highlight on youtube? Would splicing them one into 2-3min clips and then posting 1 a day be a bad Idea? would posting the whole thing at once in a series of clips be a bad Idea?

Should I have unique title for each VOD? even when its one in a series?

Ive seen recommendations on creating good content video titles. I am absolutely horrible currently at creating content, as I don't catch myself doping/saying anything especially interesting during a stream. When I do create content I plan on putting the advice into practice.

BUT, What about VODs? For instance, I have a stream series where I play Kingdom Hearts 1.5 every Thurs and Friday
Each episode is titled "Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD ReMix - Part #01" (Currently at Part #18). I don't think I have the imagination to create a clever name for each episode. But... Is it something that I need to do? Should I be creating a unique name for each and every stream/VOD?

New streamer, new-ish gamer... is strategy guide blasphemy?

The question: Is using a strategy guide a big turnoff no no to most viewers? Me, id get it, id understand... but im under the impression people have the "I didnt come to watch a guy follow a strategy guide. But is it worse than a guy flailing around with no clue what hes doin?

Context: So, im brand new to streaming, have 1 or 2 viewers on occassion. I am playing games i really enjoy: Myst series, Zelda link to the past, Hollow knight, and Kingdom Hearts.

The issue is that im only just now getting "into" gaming. Some have the talent of figuring out the mechanics of a game (secret enemy or boss) based on general experience as a gamer. I have no such talent. I've played through all of KH, but never been a generally avid gamer, never a 100% guy. Im trying to change that. Time feels like im watching grass grow as im trying to talk to myself with no chatters, but then im trying for an hr to beat a boss, find an item, or figure out the next step with no hope in sight.

Anyone having issues with Mobile Streamdeck? Keeps disconnecting every 2-5mins

Ive had my Streamdeck mobile setup on my ipad for months, even before I started officially streaming. Everything worked fine, no issues. Suddenly about 3 weeks ago, it starts disconnecting from my PC every 2-5mins. this is the ONLY app with issues on my iPad. Ive unpaired the app with my pc, uninstalled the app, restarted iPad, and re-paired device to pc Streamdeck, but no good. still disconnects. I really really don't want to uninstall from pc because of how I have the layout/setup.

Anyone else have this issue?

Is it bad to have a Chat box visible in stream/VOD with only occasionally 1 or 2 Chatters?

Very new to streaming. I have a couple of games that don't take up the whole screen. Thinking on way to fill, I thought maybe a chatbox. But I only have 1, maybe two that chat, and thats only on rare occasions. Will a chatbox be a deterrent or a benefit?

I think this falls under "Content". sry if wrong.

Can EOS R6 Mk3 output to OBS (streaming software) at 1080p for free?

Im connecting my wifes EOS R6 Mk3 to my OBS software for streaming. The image is already amazing, but I noticed in the EOS Webcam Utility that its locked at 720p. Honestly, this throws me off being that the image is so clear. But this is in comparison to my Elgato webcam. In any case, It implies that I can't get 1080p without subscription. This camera can supposedly do video up to 7k. But its locked at 720p? Is there a way to get 7k, 4k, or even just 2k without some subscription? I won't have consistent access to this camera, and being that I'm brand new to streaming with only a few followers, I definitely don't have the budget to warrant the expense.

I do have an HDMI capture card, but it's being used for my gaming consoles.

Also, The output to OBS seems a bit on the warm side and it won't let me config video or add color filter thru obs. I can change "Color space" but these don't make good adjustments. Color correction in EOS utility are locked due to lack of subscription.

Can't figure out why Elgato 4K S is crappy in OBS - Fine in Elgato Studio

LOG

Trying to stream and record Elgato 4K S, but the image is so degraded when going through OBS. I tried to have use "Device Default" settings for Resolution/FPS Type, as well as custom, under source settings. The image is crisp when using Elgato Studio, so it's not the capture card. Its gotta be something Im doing wrong in OBS. Ive been streaming for a few weeks now and it frustrates me that Im just now addressing this.

Clips and Highlights in vertical: To portrait, or not portrait. Whats your preference

Question: Are your clips In portrait orientation, viewer is able to hold their device normally (9:16) to view. Or do you set them up as landscape where viewer has to rotate device to view?

Elaboration: When playing certain games, I want to take into consideration how it looks on Vertical clips, also in hopes of eventually streaming to TikTok/Instagram. Currently I have it in portrait mode, where the cam is top 3rd, and the rest below is game footage. Works great for games like KH where the focus is always centered. The problem is when Im playing Retro games or games like Hollow Knight where the character is all over the screen and out of view, forcing me to track edit in After Effects if its a good enough clip. Games like Myst and Riven are also an issue as it cuts off so much important information pertaining to the environment.

I know that with TikTok and Instagram, the screen on a device will not auto rotate if the viewer holds said device as landscape position. Seems like setting up vertical Clips in OBS is best to have as landscape mode (Device will have to be rotated to view properly).

The two drawbacks I see to doing this that I see are if you are uploading to Youtube, and secondly if your clip is short, forcing the viewer to rotate their device doesn't seem feasible.

The reason Im posting here is because, based on posts I've seen, most people do not do this. They maintain portrait orientation, many times reducing size of footage to fit width of canvas size, which makes the footage look so small.

What do you do? Are your clips In portrait orientation, viewer is able to hold their device to view. Or do you set them up as landscape where viewer has to rotate device to view?

Highlights and Clips across different platforms - What screen orientation do you commonly use?

Im a new streamer that desperately needs to become more socially present. But Im having a hard time deciding what ratio and orientation to aim for. I want to use Instagram and TikTok, but also want to use youtube. Im under the impression that TikTok and Instagram don't auto-rotate, I could safely use 16:9, but in landscape mode (Edit in 16:9 but rotate and post as 9:16), where user would just rotate phone, and I could have games like Hollow Knight and SNES gaming played, without the concern of the characters going off screen. If I have the video in Portrait mode, characters do not stay focused to the center like modern console Zelda games and Kingdom Hearts do, so the characters constantly go off screen and I have to manually track them, which quickly becomes far far faaaar too much work.

So, landscape highlights and clips seem the most likely. However, Youtube clips (from what I know) auto-rotates the video is the user rotates their device. So I would have to keep edits, clips, highlights to portrait mode, which present capturing gameplay/character issues listed above.

Ive seen a LOT of streams use portrait (9:16) from source VOD where the sides are clipped, but these games 9 out of 10 times are ones where the character is centered.

Does anyone have feedback?
Someday, when I'm able to start live streaming on TikTok and Instagram, this will be an issue I have to address. I feel like with streaming, I'd lock in landscape recording rotated so the user would just rotate the device to watch it. However, this I think would be an issue for chat. Idk.
