Nestas fear is so palpable and heart breaking.

I’m rereading Silver Flames and it breaks my heart. I know everyone thinks she’s this venomous cold bitch but this part right here…I hate how real and dark her mental state is.

And I know not everyone relates to this, but it feels so much like looking into a mirror of my lowest self. Experiencing a taste of happiness and belonging and fearing it more than embracing it. I love Silver Flames so so so much.

1 last week of being 8 months old 🥹

Baby cereal w pb, strawberries, and “ABC” muffin. He’s wholly uninterested in foods he can’t pinch to pick up as of yesterday lol.

Just think about

When Rhysand was taken by Hyberns men and Feyre went all feral to get him back. It’s my favorite part of the whole series. I love thinking about her subtly shifting into predator mode for her mansss 😛

I’m about to freak out

We’re getting ready to move and selling some stuff so I figured why not factory reset this old phone we have to post. It was still logged into my husband’s Reddit account and IDK WHYYYY I OPENED IT.

He’s been looking at porn. Which tbh normally I probably wouldn’t care about. But we haven’t had sex IN OVER A YEAR. He couldn’t have sex with me when I was super pregnant. Now he works and is tired. BUT IM STILL TRYING TO!!! But no I guess just go jerk one out in the bathroom while I’m nursing our baby. That’s fucking great. I’m just covered in stretch marks and feel like a stranger in my own body but yeah go look at skinny 20 somethings who look nothing like me. Awesome.

Asiago asparagus risotto + herbed salmon for my fishy boy.

Ended up mixing it all together because it wouldn’t cool off fast enough for my hungry boy.

Risotto was bagged from bettergoods and super yummy.

The Serpent & the Wings of Night

Can I please get some NON SPOILER fanart of this book. I could’ve gone to bed early and caught up on sleep (8 month old baby does not sleep) but instead I read 150 pages of this book like a glutton. Show me sexy Raihn PLEASE.

When did you feel it was safe for dad and baby to sleep together?

We may be moving soon to a house with a pretty nice sized master bedroom, and are considering setting up the floor bed and our bed in there. We’re not ready for our 8 month old to be in his own room, but the idea of sleeping in my bed again for a stretch sounds like heaven lol. We’ve always been in the same king bed but my husband keeps to his side.

We were thinking about maybe taking 4ish hour shifts sleeping with the baby on the floor bed. My husband isn’t a tosser/turner, he sleeps pretty light and wakes up if I wake up to the baby most of the time.

I guess I’m just wondering when other families were comfortable with dad being the only parent in bed with baby for a stretch? I miss my super fluffy bed and down comforter lol.

Baby’s first quesadilla

Black bean, spinach, paprika, garlic, and cumin in corn tortillas. Mostly he just peeled them apart or sucked out the insides lol.

Is this normal?

Skin around the wart is separating and freaking me out. Do I keep debriding all of the white skin even though it’s so far from the wart itself?

Night weaning 8 month old

Is it too young? We’ve coslept practically since birth and I’m so tired of waking up 5+ times for nursing. We’re starting to try and get him in his crib more and I feel like at least ramping down the night feeds goes hand in hand. He wakes up sometimes every 15 minutes in his crib and it’s just been so hard. I feel lost and like I have no idea what to do.

Please help lol I see a lot of posts about this with babies who are older but I’ve not seen any for this age. I know cosleeping and dream feeding helped my sanity so much when he was a newborn but damn I’m tired. I could really use a solid 4 hour stretch.

Advice for weaning + crib transition

My baby is 7 months old and we cosleep and breastfeed. He’s starting to do pretty good with solids (thank god!!! My boobie barnacle had me nervous lol).

I’m wanting to start a game plan to get him both in his crib and weaned in the next six months, but willing to continue nursing to around when he’s 18 months old. Really I’m just looking for advice for anyone who’s done similar.

Am I actually an idiot for making my own wipes

I got FLAMED on another subreddit for saying I make my own wipes. “I wouldn’t use *gasp* soft paper towels (that are moistened and further softened) on my baby’s bum” and “well I just trust the professionals because of the risk of mold!!!!” Even though target wipes were just recalled for……mold.

I guess I should add I live in a very dry desert environment - literally surrounded by fires right now. So mold is pretty much a nonissue all around, but I’ve never encountered it in my wipes. I also only make small batches that get used up pretty quick.

Anyone else make their own wipes or use reusable ones??? I literally got downvoted to hell and everyone acted like I was using moldy sandpaper on my baby’s bum 😩

How to make your own wipes

Saw a post about wipes and thought someone may find this useful! My mom did it when I was little and now I do it for my baby. The best part (imo) is you can tweak things to be how you like it. They work just as well, if not better than any store bought wipes I’ve used, and are soft on my sensitive boys skin.

Items needed:
•large cylindrical container
•2 Tbsp baby oil (or oil alternative like melted coconut oil)
•1 Tbsp baby soap (any kind works. I’ve used Johnson’s and Johnson’s and dove sensitive baby soap)
•Bounty paper towels (the only brand I’ve found that doesn’t disintegrate)

Cut roll of paper towels in half using a bread knife. Remove the cardboard roll from the middle and dust off any crumbs from cutting.
Fill container with 2 cups of hot water
Add 1 Tbsp of soap and 2 Tbsp of oil to water and mix.
Put paper towels in container full of soap mixture and let absorb (takes about 10 minutes.)
Pull wipes from center of roll and clean messes!

Crawling

My baby is 7 months old and he’s getting pretty close to figuring out crawling. Anyone else’s baby just PISSED that they can’t get to where they want?? lol. I feel bad for him but it’s so funny watching him try to crawl and just explode that his body isn’t doing what he wants. He’s got a bit of a temper on him already, I fear 😅

Feeling angry at my own mom as I’m looking at my perfect 7 mo old.

Im sorry if this isn’t the best sub for it, but I feel affected by this as a mom, and as a daughter.

TW: childhood sexual abuse NOT GRAPHIC

I’m really struggling with something my mom made me aware of. I have known for a long time that her cousin, M, assaulted her on multiple occasions. My grandma almost let him move in with her and my mom made it clear she would NEVER see me or my brother again if she did that. He’s been an evil entity in my mind since I was 11 - rightly so. My mom told me more in depth some of what happened with him when I was 13.

So imagine my surprise when I JUST found out that her cousin, A, who I have been around my entire life, celebrated holidays with her family, and kind of was forced into an unwanted family relationship with ALSO ASSAULTED MY MOM. I don’t know the details or timeline, I just know it happened. I am so fucking angry at my mom tbh. Why did she let me and my brother be around her and her weird ass husband and sons??? I’m sitting here looking at my baby and I would cut off ANYONE for his sake. Idc what the rest of my family would think.

I’m just so in shock and I don’t know how to process this. I’m pretty close with my mom and see her regularly. I just feel so awful. Sometimes I think she uses me in place of a therapist, but this time I feel like her daughter, not someone to give her advice. I’m just angry. She says that when she was saved and accepted god in her life she forgave everyone. But why is this weird ass lady allowed that level of forgiveness when the other creeper cousin wasn’t?? I fear I know the answer - because she’s a woman. It’s just all so twisted and wrong.

The only whole fat yogurt I can find that isn’t 64oz lol

Stonyfield whole fat strawberry baby yogurt for my 6 mo (7 months on Friday🥲)

Can I rant for a second??? I’m so tired of seeing people put “gagging/choking”. They aren’t the same thing AT ALL!!! Gagging is normal and part of the tongue thrust reflex. It can be scary, but it’s a pretty critical part of babies learning to swallow. Choking is a medical emergency that requires back and chest blows and a hospital visit.

I feel like it doesn’t help dissuade feeding fears to use the two interchangeably.

Anyways my baby is eh about dairy. He likes the yogurt enough to eat a couple tablespoons. He absolutely hates cheese though??? Weirdo.

What are your first Father’s Day plans?

My husband works some really long hours with an hour commute each way, so all he’s wanted is to get some good baby time in this weekend. We let him sleep in a bit to go get some fancy coffee and we’re grilling with my parents later.

Feeling really appreciative that what my husband wants to do today is get some snuggles in with our almost 7 month old. He wanted to feed hum breakfast, take all the diaper changes, push his stroller for our walk, and requested he gets to do bath time tonight. Hope the other dads out here take this day to truly be a father.
