Gatorade gum! That's mine! I always have a dry mouth and that was the best gum for it. I lived the flavor too.

The first Midnight Special aired August 19, 1972

I loved this! It was one of the only places you ever got to see what your favorite group looked like. American Bandstand was too bubblegum. This way waaaay before music videos.

Did you have a Book Mobile when you were growing up?

I lived in a very small town and we had a Book Mobile come through every other week at the elementary school. I remember being let out of class for 30 minutes to go to it. I remember the smell most of all. It smelled like old books and wood from the shelves. We were allowed to check out 3 books. That was the highlight of my week and I missed it on the off weeks.

Did you have a step stool like this one growing up? This reminds me so much of my grandma!

I remember all of my boy cousins climbing up in one for a haircut with the clippers. I helped my gran do dishes, decorate cookies and it was our booster chair when we were really little.

Can you remember the barrel furniture from the 70's?

I had a cousin that did his house up in that heavy wrought-iron and barrel furniture. He also had crush velvet curtains. It looked like a cross between a castle and a pirate ship.

From the Sears Wishbook, 1977

I guess if you were a celebrity at that time you had some kind of doll made in your image!

Cindy Brady AKA Susan Olsen turns 65 today!

She still is a cutie! I didn't realize I was 3 years younger than the youngest person on Brady Bunch.

You knew you were sick when your mom broke out Vicks Formula 44!

It tasted so bad but you felt so floaty after!

Dod anyone else grow up watching the roller derby on TV? Were you ever lucky enough to see it in person?

My mom didn't like it because it was too violent so I never watched it at home. My uncle never missed a match so I got to see it when I went to his house! It was crazy! Maybe I liked it because I skated as was not confrontational at all and I lived vicariously through them, I don't know but I do know I liked it!

Remember these bedspreads? I never noticed that they resembled cake decorations before! Lol!

We had them on every bed!

Did any of you take Driver's Ed in school and practice driving on these?

Don't forget the film you had to watch of the horrific accidents.

70's Kitchen Things. I know you either had some of the canisters, cups, bowls, or tables & chairs! (8 pages)

We had most of it. The tall, plastic kitchen chairs, the wooden bowls, one of the canister sets, a lot of the mugs. These were so common in households back in the day.
