What will you do with so much money and planning?

My very good friend had 2 kids. When her first kid was born she said we only plan to have the one kid. Then after 2 years she called me and said she got pregnant accidentally and is expecting a second kid, in a way it's good because the first one will have company. Okay great!! All good!!

3 years down we were discussing changing and switching jobs for better pay and opportunity. Shes been trying for some time and last month I told her I switched and ita a better opportunity and better pay. She sighed and asked me since we are childfree what are we going to do with all that money. I was quite taken back and told her I make my money for myself and to plan an amazing retirement for myself and my spouse. We have a pup and honestly has a better life than most children. When I explained to her all the traveling and retirement plans we had she said okay yes thats good.

Why is it that people find it so hard to believe that DINKs shouldn't worry about their careers and wealth building. I literally had to give her an example like Lori Grenier to get her to realize that not everyone wants children.

His Highness Before and after the big groom

Thank God it grows back. We are not going this short again but I think he needed it for the summer. He gets brushed everyday and the groomer was so happy with his daily upkeep 😊 I did have a good cry when I got him back.

Do you all go the gynecologist still?

It's been 6 months we stopped fertility treatments. Do you all still go to the gynecologist? I find it pretty traumatic to even think about scheduling an appointment. I don't really need to worry about getting pregnant or birth control so I don't know why i need to go? I have painful periods that are unbearable but I manage through really strong meds.

The acne on Blair's forehead-Offstroff centre announcement during Ivy League

Last winter I had similar acne on my forehead, probably worse. I was so freaking embarrassed like OH MY GOD. I had been going through fertility treatments and was on steroids so its a known side effects. But at the time I was absolutely going crazy and so ashamed. My GP gave me meds to clear it ut it was no help. I had a vacation planned with friends and I was so conscious. But i went to that vacation, had so much fun, took so many pictures and had a great time. The reason for this post is, I want to reassure people out there that, LIKE LEIGHTON, we all gotta own our imperfections and just let go of things not under our control.

Red eye

Our 5 month old Havanese male pup has always had redness in his right eye. What can I do to help him? He has been going to the vet every 2 weeks for all his shots and gets looked at very regularly and the vet never raised any concern.

Lately the redness is increasing i feel like. We clean his eye boogers multiple times in the day and keep his face clean by combing any debris out. I also used the Vetericyn eye wash and gel last 3 days to see if it helps but he doesnt like it and I dont think it helped.

Any suggestions or advice? I have a vet appointment again in 2 weeks to check on this. (We met with the vet tech today for his lyme shot and she also said his eye looked red and to check with the vet in 2 weeks(scheduled check up) because it doesnt look chronic)

Hey anytime man! That one black eye looks a little lonely!!

Rewatching the series maybe the 100th time.

The best line ever 😅😅😅 ( nate trying to mitigate the whole situation)

Also can we all agree that Nate was such a stand up guy overall compared to all these other characters?!

So question to the book readers---

I am a book person but I found out about GG in my youth through the TV series and have watched the whole series maybe 10 times (its my comfort TV show).I also moved to US in my adult life after graduating. So my question to you is, does it make sense to go back and read the books? Is it wildly different? Will I like it if I loved the TV series?

Cooling mat for a pup

Any recommendations for cooling mats? He loves to chew these days due to teething so I am trying to find something that is non toxic and chew proof. He is 5 months.

I need help and suggestions

My inlaws will be here to live us in the US for a month. I have recently started working non-remote position, before I was remote. We also have a new puppy who would be 6 months when they come. I have Zero time to do anything else other than work and take care of the pup. My husband is also equally busy. He helps with the pup and also cooks when I cant. ( We mostly eat salads and 1 protein so its easy to prep for just us, since we adopted a more healthy lifestyle. But we will revert to indian food when rhey are here because cant cook 2 different types of stuff) His brother and my co-sis are the one who wanted them to come this summer because they have a kid and they want grandparents time but it does mean they will split time between them and us.

Last time they were here, I made breakfast and made lunch before leaving for work and then came back home, made tea and dinner. But I didnt have the pup and was well established in my job by that time. My relationship with them MIL and FIL is cordial bit there is always tension because of what happened during the initial years.

Any tips on how I can manage the cooking and taking care of things with the new situation? My MIL doesn't do anything. My husband says she will cook this time around so confidently but I know the reality.

Polite reasons to have lunch at my desk

I am starting a new job and want some polite reasons to have my lunch at my desk. I am an introvert but also at a senior position. There is another senior in the team who constantly wants to hang out with the rest of the team, while that’s great, I need to recharge during lunch break and also eat in total silence with my headphones on. What are some polite excuses I can use to not come across as a snob who doesn’t want to mingle with the rest of the team all the damn time.

Havi Puppy Not eating - 18 weeks

He was a voracious eater 1 week ago but wont eat now. What do I do? I wet his kibble with broth, warm water, yogurt. Nothing.

He eats treats like salmon, cheese, bacon but wont eat his kibble.

He ate breakfast today, and then wont eat lunch, threw up bile at 6 pm, wont eat dinner as well. I gave him a chew, he ate that, along with cheese, apple and bacon. Any advice please 🙏

We have a 14 week old Havanese puppy and have had him since he was 8.5 weeks. From Day 1 he has been really good and sleeps from 11 pm to 6 am. First few weeks we did a last call for water at 9 pm. However the days he gets his shots he is extra thirsty and we decided to leave the hamster water bottle in his crate. We decided it's fine if he wakes us up in the middle of the night, we didn't want him to go without water because he was panting after the shots multiple times in the day.

Even with water access through the night he has never woken us up before 6 am.

My question is is it okay to continue leaving the hamster water bottle in his crate? Is there a downside to him having water access all night long?

I make 123k and will make 128k by June in the current role. I applied for an internal senior role that is also a band change ( currently I am lead professional band and the new role is a Senior Professional band) Range was 120--199k in the JD.I got the offer at 136k.

As much as I like the role I feel like thats not a good offer by any means. It's a senior professional band while I am at lead professional band.

Can I polity decline the offer. I had given my manager the heads up but the new offer is really not upto my expectation since the role demands more responsibility, accountability and its supposed to be pretty hectic with no process. I was expecting close to 165k for this new role. One of the team members from the new team called me and asked if I can do a 1 week notice period instead of 2 even before an offer was extended to me officially.

It is an internal role so I am torn how to navigate this while maintaining professional standards.

How would you handle this situation?

(The current hiring manager has said they will review with HR what they can do but I doubt they will come back with a good counter offer)
