Sometimes I wake up and still can’t believe I own a PS5 Pro.

I’ve been a gamer at heart ever since I was a kid, but growing up poor, I never really had the chance to fully enjoy the hobby. My mom worked incredibly hard to put me through private school, and while I’m grateful for everything she sacrificed, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t jealous of the other kids. They always seemed to have the newest consoles, games, and toys, while the only time I got to experience those things was when I was at their houses.

On top of that, I grew up in a pretty dysfunctional home and was exposed to a lot of things no child should have to deal with. Through all of it, gaming became my escape. It gave me something to look forward to when life felt overwhelming.

I still remember pirating GTA V and playing through the entire game on a terrible laptop that struggled to hit 20 FPS. Even then, I loved every minute of it. Back then, I used to dream about a day when I could experience games the way they were meant to be played.

Fast forward to today, and after saving for an entire year, I finally bought a PS5 Pro. I got it after the price increase, but I honestly don’t care. To me, it’s worth every penny. The feeling of owning the best console on the market right now is just so overwhelming.

It’s one of my most prized possessions, and not just because it’s expensive, but because of what it represents. It’s a reminder of how far I’ve come from that kid who could only watch other people enjoy the things he wanted.

I know it might sound silly to get emotional over a console, but I figured some fellow gamers here might understand. For me, it’s about a lot more than just gaming. It’s a dream I carried with me for years, and finally getting there feels pretty special.

So recently I bought a Mangmi Pocket Max, but it got stolen basically right after it was delivered, which really sucked. I ended up using an Amazon gift card I had to buy a Retroid Pocket 5 last week instead.

Then someone on Reddit suggested I contact Mangmi support to see if they could help, and they ended up being absolute goats and offered to send me a replacement for free, which will be delivered next week.

Now I have both devices: the RP5 and the Pocket Max, and I genuinely can’t decide which one to keep and which one to sell.

From what I can tell, both have basically the same chipset/performance. The Pocket Max is more ergonomic, but I can’t really use the RP5 comfortably without the grip attachment, and once you add the grip, the portability/weight difference between the two becomes pretty small anyway.

So now I’m kinda torn. For people who’ve used both, which would you keep and why?

My pocket max was delivered today morning and while i was in class, some mf stole my package off my porch AAAAAAHHHH FUUUCK. I’d been saving up for so long for this why did it have to happen to me. I hate this fucking world. I have it on video when he just walked up and stole it. fml
