somebody else by the 1975

it’s early in the AM right now, I just can’t sleep and i decided to listen to one of my favorite songs in the world, it turned 10 years old this year. This is my favorite sad song and it’s so beautiful and absolutely devastating. The 1975 is one of my favorite bands and i’m so greatful i got to experience this beautiful song live front row in concert years ago.

“our love has gone cold, your intertwining your soul with somebody else”

i listen to this song every single day as if it came out last week, it will never get old for me, one of the reasons i love it so much is because i can’t relate to it. ive been single for 11 years, not into dating and is demisexual and introverted but wish someone had genuine interest in me as a person and we’d roam the streets of new york city, laughing, sharing food, holding hands in our sweaters and kissing on the subway, i’d love something so cinematic.

i just wanted to share my love for this song since i couldn’t sleep

i’m tired of being a human

I’m a 27 year old pisces life path 7 woman, been single for 11 years and i’m on the asexual spectrum, i’ve known this since i was a teen, also i’m very introverted and prefers my alone time. I feel like i’m from another kind of being that’s from another planet and I passed away and i was reincarnated as a human and born on Earth. It seems like almost everyone is a sex addict, everything is so hyper sexual and everything is sexually suggestive. I’ve never understood hookup culture and casual dating (no i’m not bashing anyone) but it just seems so weird to me, to be so eager to have sex with a stranger. I’ve been wanting a deep emotional connection with a man for years, but i never get it, not even close. Most men just want sex, i’m not looking for sex at all and im not about to try to build a connection based from sex, i want to build one from the mind. But when they realize im not giving them sex so soon their “interest” in me goes away. Sweater weather is coming right around the corner and it’s my favorite time of year, i love it so much and im so excited and i’d love to have a harry potter movie marathon at home with someone, go to the farm and drink some warm apple cider, eat a apple fritter and pick a pumpkin to take home and decorate, go to a farmers market and get some trinkets, scarves and empanadas, honestly i just want to spend time with someone and slowly get to know them, to form a genuine connection that’s not forced from a dating app or anything, to just be out in the world and meet and become friends with someone and maybe it would snowball into something more and that’s cool if it doesn’t. People tell me that i’m weird for not seeking sex and doing hookups like most people are, but i just don’t see people as masturbation devices, im interested in their humanity. I feel so weird for wanting a deep soulful connection with another human, we’re not just our bodies. Maybe i’m an alien who knows.

i love being childfree as a 27 year old auntie

I have two nieces and one nephew , all 3 of them are under 9 years old, and when i visit home and stay at my mothers house they are usually there making noise, making a mess and not listening. I ordered some chipotle from doordash and they swarmed around me pretending they were hungry even though i asked them if they were hungry and they said no before i ordered my meal, when i bought them food last time after they acting like they were starving they just played over it,this is extremely annoying and how they just swarm around me and stare at me while eating and i know they aren’t hungry, they do this no matter what i eat, but especially when i order food. Idk how ppl deal with this shit every damn day. When they are around I can’t watch what i want to watch, I have to turn what im watching off and put on paw patrol, bluey or spider man. I also have to be conscious about the music i listen to around them and not to smoke around them. The kids stayed the night here so one of them has to stay in the room with me, i literally just wanted to chill in my room, eat my edible, listen to megan thee stallion and watch a horror movie but nope. Children are extremely annoying and is a huge inconvenience, like it’s back to back. I finished my burrito and wanted to immediately go back up stairs to the room i’m currently staying in but my niece decided to come downstairs and eat some left over spaghetti so i had to stay downstairs till she was done. I’m easily annoyed, love my alone and quiet time and i love to solo travel, i will never be a mother, hell no. I’m also glad i don’t have to child proof my house, pay for daycare or miss out on things because i can’t find anyone to watch my child on weekends.

[AFAB 27] and i’m a cisgender woman

I’m also on the ace spectrum by being demisexual and sapiosexual. But is confused of my sexuality, i rarely genuinely find men physically and mentally attractive, but is mostly mentally and physically attractive to women, i only have experience with AFAB men. Also my attraction to women gets stronger when im ovulating, i sometimes watch porn but mostly focused on the woman, especially her breasts , a few years ago i had a questioning friend and she let me caress her breasts with no shirt on and i loved it, when i was in my early twenties i was still deconstructing christianity and very confused and during that time i had opportunities to explore sex with women but was scared at the time, i haven’t been in a relationship with anyone since i was 17 and i had sex for the first time with a man when i was 24 and i haven’t had sex since then. idk im just confused, i don’t think im a lesbian but the only men i have attraction to are mostly anime characters with long hair and pretty eyes and like 3 male celebrities. but honestly i dont see myself with a man or a woman. i’m just used to being alone and im not into dating.

How did you figure out your path when you had too many interests?

I’m a 27 year old woman from New York and I feel like I’m constantly discovering new passions. The problem isn’t that I don’t know what I like—it’s that I love so many different things that I don’t know what direction to take my life.
Some of my interests include:
Psychology (I’m currently studying it in college.)
Anthropology
Archaeology
Ancient civilizations (especially Egypt)
Museums
Travel and solo travel
Photography
History
Different cultures and languages
Teaching
Conservation and historic preservation
Documentaries
Mythology and folklore
Nature, hiking, and national parks
Growing up, I always loved movies like National Treasure, Indiana Jones, and The Mummy. I thought I just liked adventure movies, but recently I realized what I actually love is exploration, discovery, and learning about humanity.
I had the chance to visit museums in Egypt, and it completely changed me. Standing in front of artifacts that were thousands of years old made me realize how fascinated I am by human history and the stories objects can tell.
Lately I’ve been reading more about anthropology and archaeology, and now I want to visit museums everywhere I travel. I’m even planning a trip to Boston just to spend a day at the Museum of Fine Arts.
The problem is…I don’t know what to do with all of these interests.
Part of me wants to teach.
Part of me wants to travel.
Part of me wants to photograph ancient places.
Part of me wants to volunteer on archaeological or preservation projects.
Part of me wants to work in a museum.
Part of me wants to document cultures and tell stories.
Has anyone else experienced this? How did you stop feeling like you had to choose just one path?
Did you eventually find a career that combined your interests, or did you keep one as your career and the others as hobbies?
I’d love to hear from people who felt pulled in a hundred different directions but eventually found a way to build a meaningful life around their curiosity.
