Anyone else in weight restoration have sensory issues with their stomach and can feel it all the time

I gained >!15 lbs!< in 7 weeks in treatment and I can physically feel the difference in my body. Like I feel my stomach protruding. It feels swollen and bloated. Not like, full bloated, just large and very "there". It's horrible and really hard not to focus on. I had to take a break to adjust. I'm assuming it's just me being hyper aware of my body and not being used to the extra mass there so I'll probably get used to it in time. I feel like all the weight just went straight there. I supposedly have >!10 or 20(!!???)!< more lbs to gain according to my growth chart and idk if I can handle that just like sensory wise.

How come I didn't lose my period the first time I lost weight, but I did the second time??

TW: Weight. I used to be 147 lbs and 2 years ago I lost 40 lbs to get to 107 (which is healthy for my height - 5'1). I retained a healthy period at 107. Last year I regained 10 lbs and went in a deficit again to lose 13 lbs and get to 105 lbs. That time I lost my period very quickly, at 112 lbs. I also developed a ton of other health problems like SIBO and mood problems. I can't tell when I'm hungry anymore. Whole system got screwed.

My deficit this time was much less than the first time... last year I was truly disordered, I would go days without eating and when I would eat, I would just have a protein bar, dinner, and maybe some brownies as dessert. I was manic and I never slept. I was cold, exhausted, and had a headache all the time. This time I did it properly, exercised and counted cals/macros, I was only in a deficit of maybe 300 calories and my period disappeared... I lost it at a higher weight than I was last year, it doesn't make sense!!

Has anyone else experienced this?? It is just so weird to me. My period was totally normal 2 years ago. I think I was still ovulating too, I had a VERY high sex drive... constantly thinking about guys. So weird!!

IDGAF about the diet anymore

I feel terrible either way, so why should I torture myself?

This week I bought a big jar of Mandarin Oranges and have been eating them with every meal... I missed them so much... And I don't feel ANY more sick than I did before!! I also ate spicy fish... it was so good!!

I don't know if the diet is really the way... I have been focusing lately on meal frequency and nervous system healing instead which has honestly been so much more helpful. 5 small meals eating whatever TF I want. Life feels a lot more livable.

period recovery for overweight women

Hi, I am looking for a community / support group of women who are trying to recover their period but are already healthy/overweight by BMI. The majority of period recovery content I see comes from women who were underweight and just had to move to a healthy weight to recover, which isn't the case for me. I was genuinely unhealthy and overweight before and I lost my period just going too far into unhealthy habits, looks like I'll have to regain all the weight I lost. This has been incredibly difficult for me as i have struggled with body image issues my whole life. I want to value my bones & strength more than my looks but it is difficult.

So if you're in a similar place pls reply to this post!!

Should I maintain restored weight even if I still don't have a period

The amenorrhea recovery subreddit is really strict about continuing to stay in a surplus to restore your period but I wanted to hear from the AN recovery subreddit... if I'm medically weight restored is it safe to maintain & eat intuitively or do I have to stay in a surplus? I really want my period back!!!

Medication

I am so tired of the noise... The constant numbers. I want health so bad, I don't want osteoporosis or GI problems or infertility or heart problems.. I want health more than anything but all I can think about is my body image. Obsessed. Since discharge from treatment I've been following my meal plan for a week now but it's been the longest week of my life. All I can think of is how fat I feel and how afraid I am of getting fatter.

I'm wondering if anyone here has had any luck with medication to suppress the noise. I just want to have a life again. Be a person.

Weight restored - should I stay in a surplus?

My ED dietician calculated my ideal weight based off my growth charts and I have finally hit that point. I'm wondering if I should still stay in a surplus. She says it's OK to maintain now but I still don't have a period. What to do?

Does this sound like histamine intolerance?? What do I do??

I have RED-S which led me to developing SIBO and I think my SIBO is giving me a histamine intolerance. I used to respond beautifully to low-fodmap but now I'm having horrible symptoms while still on it. I'm trying so so hard to eat more to heal my RED-S but it is really hard with the symptoms I'm dealing with.

My first symptoms were appetite loss and gas. This makes sense with the SIBO. But often times when I eat, I'll immediately get a crazy runny nose and reflux. Recently it's gotten way worse. I'll get a pounding headache, dizzy, itchy throat, clogged ears, and swollen, burning tongue + lips. Then, of course, a couple hours later, the horrible gas and bloating. I went to the allergist to see if I had a specific food allergy but nothing came back.

A low histamine diet really is not possible for me. I'm in college and don't exactly have access to flash-frozen meats. I need to eat to heal my root cause. But my symptoms are just impossible. I don't know what to do. Help??

Should I still try xifaxan if I'm doomed to relapse

I'm miserable, symptoms are just ruining my life... my root cause (gastroparesis) is treatment resistant and I have a medical order to eat at 5-6 times a day, not going 4 hours without food (RED-S, amenorrhea, severe malnutrition causing gastroparesis)

I tried LFE for the longest time, it reduced symptoms by like 60%

Is a round worth it for some symptomatic relief? I just want to feel like not dying every second of the day...

Is there even a point in trying

College starts in a couple weeks for me and I don't have a car, I have to walk to class every day on a hilly campus and average 10k steps a day on heavy incline. I have so many digestive problems, I can't eat within 3 hours of sleeping or else I'll be up all night with reflux and stomach aches. I also have to take a phys ed class for credits. I don't think I can do it. Is it even worth it to keep going? I've been at it for 3 months and still have no period.

I just want to stop feeling like shit but is it even possible right now?? My RED-S made me develop horrible IBS symptoms and I need it cured yesterday.

Is eating every 2-3 hours or 3-4 hours better?

I've been hearing both numbers being thrown around. I'm struggling more with frequency than volume right now, remembering to eat often enough, as I don't get hungry. I've designed myself a schedule of eating breakfast at 9am, lunch at 12pm, snack at 3pm, dinner at 6pm, and snack at 9pm. How does this sound?

Not working with a dietician yet I want to get on this ASAP.

Have I exhausted all the carb sources? Would love more ideas!!

Hey I'm a runner recovering from SIBO. My gut is loving low-fodmap so far but I am desperately lacking variety in my carb sources. I'm practically only eating rice, grits, potatoes, and maple syrup. Sometimes I'll try orange juice or cranberry juice but they can give me reflux. Oats, bananas, chocolate milk, bread rolls, honey and sweet potatoes used to be my favorites but I can no longer tolerate them. I wish I liked quinoa but the texture makes me gag.

I'm very happy to have found Schar products but their portion sizes aren't quite enough for me and I'm not confident enough to go above what's allowed on the app.

Seems like I'm all out of options, huh? Are there any carb sources left? Help!!

Berberine with reactive hypoglycemia

Hey I struggle with reactive hypoglycemia alongside SIBO. I'm interested in trying herbal antimicrobials but I've heard berberine can make the hypoglycemia worse by further lowering blood sugar. I tried oregano oil but TMI it literally made me shit blood so not doing that again. Would love some advice.

Reactive hypoglycemia

Having huuuuuge problems with reactive hypoglycemia in amenorrhea recovery. I keep waking up in the middle of the night sweating with my head pounding. I cannot keep up with the high carb loads required for recovery. Idk what to do. High carb days give me horrible insomnia. Is anyone else struggling with reactive hypoglycemia in their recovery? What do I do???

Eating past fullness

Should I be eating past fullness to try to get to 2000+ calories? I eat really dense food, like really dense but I can only tolerate like 1800 most days before I painfully bloated and nauseous. It's way worse if I'm not walking. I have gastroparesis and recurrent SIBO

Yellow discharge

Hi I haven't had a period in a year and have been in recovery on and off for 6 months, dedicated 3 months. A couple days ago I got egg white and then yellow discharge, for about 3 days. I have been bone dry for the rest of the time. Is this a sign of ovulation? How soon should I expect my period?

How long will it take GI problems to heal?? Should I stay in a surplus if I'm weight restored?

Hi I had mild anorexia and over-exercised for 2 years and doctors think it's the root cause of my gut problems. It got worse within the last year and I lost my period. Soon after that I started experiencing severe gut problems including loss of appetite, burping, regurgitation, alternating constipation and diarrhea, severe gas and gas pain, severe bloating. After being informed of my ED possibly being the root cause, I started trying to recover 6 months ago but it's making it near impossible. Before, I was restricting on purpose, but now I really can't eat. I can't take it anymore.

I know numbers aren't allowed here but I've gained a lot of weight and my BMI is now in the healthy range. I'd consider myself weight restored. All day I just eat and feel like shit and dying. None of my symptoms have improved despite all my nutritional numbers improving. And no one believes me when I say I have the symptoms I'm having because I'm gaining weight and eating constantly despite it. I'm lost.

I haven't had a period in 10 months but last week I was experiencing some spotting. Is this a good sign? Should I keep trying? It feels so pointless and counterintuitive to eat more when 1. I am not hungry and 2. eating gives me these horrible symptoms.

I got a lot of tests done and tried so many meds like antispasmodics, mirtazapine, cyproheptadine, lowfodmap, motegrity, and a ridiculous amount of OTC supplements but nothing's worked. I just want to not be in pain anymore.

Cancelling out fructose with glucose

I read recently that the main reason fructose may not be tolerated well is when it's out of balance with glucose - the body likes there to be a 1:1 fructose:glucose measurement. I'm wondering, then, if I take glucose/dextrose tabs with a high fructose food, will this sufficiently cancel out the fructose? I understand that means I would be eating a lot of sugar, this would just be done on special occasions.
