Hit the Detroit location a few years ago too!
Apparently only one image upload is allowed at a time, so feel free to check out the rest here. Thought you all would enjoy!
I humbly request a chance at Baldur's Gate 3 (BG3).
In the wake of a really difficult life change, I've gotten more into mind-numbing gaming in a way I really don't like in retrospect.
Since going through a divorce, I've had to put a concentrated effort into spending my newfound free time in a non-destructive way. I've always loved videogames, but have taken up that hobby a lot more since becoming a bachelor again. I got myself a Steam Deck, a subscription to GeForce NOW, and a standing weekly gaming session with a buddy to make sure I'm not just flying solo the whole time.
However, solo time happens regardless. Outside of going on walks (thank God for springtime), working on music, and reading, I often choose to decompress with some gaming. Lately I've noticed that my solo games are more aimless "quick session" types like ARC Raiders, Rocket League, Wreckfest, The Finals, etc., and I'm getting hungry for something more creative and beautiful - something where I could have a more direct impact on the in-game story that's unfolding rather than just deleting a couple hours from my evening for no good reason. I tried Windrose and Elder Scrolls Online, but have had a hard time getting drawn into those.
In tandem with all that, I've been following Campaign IV of Critical Role and getting a lot more into DnD via that and the mutual interest of another friend of mine. I think that's mainly where the desire came from to be a part of a story I can help craft in-game rather than just tapping buttons to pass the time until going to bed too late (which I admit may still happen given how highly-praised BG3 seems to be haha).
I'd like to leverage that into making my "unwinding" game time more beautiful and also a catalyst to my newfound interest in DnD. BG3 seems like a perfect fit for it, especially given that it takes place in the DnD universe. I'm hoping it'd also help me wrap my head around the tabletop game's mechanics even more, which would be great since my buddy and I are working on getting a campaign going ourselves.
Anyway, times being what they are, I just can't swing BG3 prudently right now. Even looking at the historical low price of the game, I'm not sure I could get it on sale. [AndyDwyerTheEconomy.gif]
So, if anybody's feeling generous, I'd be insanely grateful for the chance to dive into something more immersive, beautiful, unique, and tailored to healthier interests of mine than what I've been playing lately instead.

Thanks, all!

I know some major upgrades are on the horizon (a TV app, bookmarking, downloads, etc.) but I've not seen this bug reported as being worked on. So, I wanted to check if this was just a "me" problem that I need to continue troubleshooting on my end.
For example, I'll load back into an episode and suddenly the captions are in Portuguese instead of English. I only recall it happening when I'm Chromecasting from my phone, but can't say for certain it's only happened then. Anyone else experiencing this?
Comical first words: As a Sabres fan, I've spent nearly two decades in "we're just glad to be here" mode, so I get it. Relevance breeds rivalry. But still.
Reading "I fucking hate [team] so much" without any rivalry attached reminds me of football "fans" who spend more time hating the Patriots or the Cowboys than just... cheering for their favorite team. I'm not sure they even enjoy the sport at that point.
Sure, certain moments make me shake my fist at the past (Hull in '99, Canes in '06, Lucic in '11, Matt Cooke in general), but redirecting that feeling at entirely different rosters in 2026 is something I just can't wrap my head around lol.
If we win the cup I'm shaving everything but the mustache and rockin' it for the whole week. Go Sarbes.
We're coming up on three decades of motherfucking South Park still going strong, and you genuinely believe the public wouldn't permit a scene of... Steve Carell doing accents in a Chili's?
Whenever I see/hear that argument, it reads more like "Everything that came after my joints started hurting is bad"
EDIT: A fair point below about children's shows, but I'm more talking about old shows that were meant for adults supposedly being "too offensive" for today's adults.
My latest "phase" of playing Skate. has been twice as fun as all the others combined. Adjusting camera & trick assist settings is great, but doesn't address the game's absence of soul.
Turn off all the in-game music. Open whatever you stream with and play the old soundtracks instead. I have a Spotify playlist with the full soundtracks from Skate 2, Skate 3, THPS 1-3 and Project 8, all the tracks I myself used to skate to, anything from my favorite skate vids, all of it.
Then, go through the UI settings and turn off everything you can afford to. For me, the d-pad guide and some of the compass visuals were just distracting. I also muted Vee and anyone else I didn't want to hear from.
Skate. is not what it should have been and it might not ever be, but I swear to Coach Frank the second you hear the intro flutes from Going Up the Country and Vee has been stuffed in a closet, this game absolutely hits different.
