comprehension and retaining information
Hey comfort subreddit!
I read 1-2 books a month. I work full-time and unfortunately that’s impacted my reading time! (i used to work at a gym and read all day and i got through 3-4 books WEEKLY.) How do you guys read soooo much with full time jobs?? I don’t even get a lunch break to read.
Anyways, I’m super into psycho thrillers, literature, and anything in between that makes me feel like i’m reading a fictional characters diary! Not a fan of fantasy.
I feel like i have a few issues. I find it so hard to remember details from books i’ve read. What should I do? I finish the book and poof! Details gone. I kinda only remember whatever i put on my StoryGraph review, and the main characters plot. How do my friends recite lines from books or specific scenes?
Another thing, how did you guys improve your reading comprehension? Is there a book that refreshes a lot of what your high school english teacher taught you? I feel like i read slightly above the young adult section at target lol. I pick up classics like emma or sense and sensibility and i lose my power to read. ugh help.
