comprehension and retaining information

Hey comfort subreddit!

I read 1-2 books a month. I work full-time and unfortunately that’s impacted my reading time! (i used to work at a gym and read all day and i got through 3-4 books WEEKLY.) How do you guys read soooo much with full time jobs?? I don’t even get a lunch break to read.

Anyways, I’m super into psycho thrillers, literature, and anything in between that makes me feel like i’m reading a fictional characters diary! Not a fan of fantasy.

I feel like i have a few issues. I find it so hard to remember details from books i’ve read. What should I do? I finish the book and poof! Details gone. I kinda only remember whatever i put on my StoryGraph review, and the main characters plot. How do my friends recite lines from books or specific scenes?

Another thing, how did you guys improve your reading comprehension? Is there a book that refreshes a lot of what your high school english teacher taught you? I feel like i read slightly above the young adult section at target lol. I pick up classics like emma or sense and sensibility and i lose my power to read. ugh help.

your semi illiterate friend,
megan :)

i want to start a nail career but i’m nervous…

Hey…. so a little background information. i’m 19 and i’ve been doing my own and families nails since i was 13. i love the art aspect to it, and recently ive started playing with new ways of applying!!

ive mostly used gel x, biab, and years because have used acrylic!

i’m in car sales right now and i’ve been getting so many compliments in my nails. it’s made me fall back in love with doing them!

i’m looking into this nail school which seems to be exactly what i need (flexible hours). starting out by painting some friends nails and starting a press on nail business.

i’m scared because like… how tf do you get clients OTHER than friends? i guess im really nervous about the business side of it…

where to get rhinestones

i wanted to do these french tip junk nails, love bedazzling things and so i tried using the rhinestones i had… they were too big.

i’ve been interested in this “junk nail” trend and i just can’t find a good assortment of gems. i’ve looked on amazon, etsy, shien, and attempted temu but couldnt even get past the wheel and gambling kind of offers… looked like a scammy website.

besides the point pls help me find these gems 🙏🙏

My boyfriend 19M hasn’t made me 19F finish in 2 months. I don’t know what do I should do?

this is going to get really vulnerable, i feel so weird posting this on the internet.

I want to start this shit post by saying, I love my boyfriend. We’ve been together for 3.5 years, living together for almost 2. He’s absolutely my soulmate. He’s smart, hard working, has a lot of drive in life, he’s so attractive, attentive, and i NEVER lift a finger when I’m home. I couldn’t ask for someone better.

In the past, we have had our fair share of intimacy issues. But this, I don’t know how to overcome.

I honestly can’t really remember the last time i finished but I know it’s been 2 months because we just moved into this new apartment 2 months ago and i know that i haven’t finished here 🫪

I told him a few months ago that i don’t like when he like swipes through my cracks to initiate sex it actually turns me ANGRY and not on! i feel like this has been the start of these issues because that’s how he wants to initiate it? i mean ive repeated myself a few times, one time we were starting to get touchy and he did it to me and i stopped all action and we had the conversation again.

He will also just beg to give me head randomly and not while i’m turned on and so i always say no. idk why im including it but i am.

i haven’t had sex with him for 2 weeks now and things are getting bad… ive started to do it for myself. which is weird for me because i havent done it for myself in 3.5 years LOL.

the other night, i gave him head to try and break our ice and he immediately finished and that lead us to a conversation about how he needs to be considerate of my needs. he says that i reject him every time he tries, i told him that it’s because i don’t like how he initiates it. he’s saying he feels kind of scared and feel insecure to do anything for me because im “particular”

i just want some advice on what to do from here… kinda tired of having to hide the fact that i’m masturbating to porn every morning.

Growing out bitten nails

I’ve been on and off biting my nails, I usually get acrylics to fix it - once I get those removed I will chew and it gets worse over time.

I’ve started practicing with hard gel, my past set I kept on for a week. I had to build tips with forms and my nails started lifting pretty quick.

I’m trouble shooting with better prep and application.

Going to do fills every 2 weeks or so. Will post my progress!!

Feel free to leave any tips that you can think of for a beginner.

New car sales hire

I just got hired at a well known parent company for a luxury car brand! I was in BDC for a RV sales company before this. So I’m extremely new to this.

I’m having a hard time. I feel terrible at this. All of my managers this I’m stupid, they have said this to my face. I don’t know how to drive super well, know squat about cars. But I’m well spoken and great with people, and I assume that’s why I was hired.

I just don’t know how to take the managers being so hard on me, I know the car business is that but I need advice. I need advice on everything.

Please give me all of your best advice.
