Family picture of ruins from 1943: where could it be?

This family picture is labeled as "1943" and nothing else: where could it be?
These family members lived and moved around the south of France and Brussels, Belgium, during the war. But one of them also worked as an illegal taxi driver around free France, from example, or they had friends elsewhere, so really this could be anywhere. Thank you!

Not sure where to ask, but --how could I preserve this dragonfly ?

Found dead in a camping's swimming pool drains by some kids who then left it on the side as boring. One little kid was obviously moved by it but had to leave it, and I promised him I'd honor it. I also brought back some leaves and twigs (which served as cushion in the cardbox I brought it back in

I've put some butterfly wings behind glass before but this can't be crushed. I also worry about moisture/bugs (ironically).

All tips are welcome!

What did I buy, and how do I cook it?

There was no information and I used self checkout. Reverse image search found no results. What is it?

Any idea where the Acadians might have been held between 1756-1773

Hello Southamsptons,

I don't know if this is known at all in your parts but Acadians from present-day Nova Scotia were held in Southampton in "slave like" conditions.
A lot of them died.

I have been researching my ancestors and found out my 8x-great-grand-ancestor was held in captivity from 7-14, and both her parents died in Southampton.
I was wondering what they might have done with the bodies, or if it would be possible to visit the place they were held.

I can't seem to find anything online and curiously English wikipedia doesn't even mention Southampton, so I am hoping either it is common knowledge or there is some history nerd amongst you!

Thank you,
Descendant of deportee

This pillbox sparks JOY

I was reluctant to buy it and thought I'd flounder the refills but I LOVE it. It's super satisfying to put all the pills in their little place and then mornings are easier where I don't have to rummage through 5 different pill boxes
