Is anyone else utterly obsessed with the chorus of Gwen Stefani?

I can’t get it out of my head and I like it that way. The rhyming and cadence is so catchy

Can’t stream Netflix on DDG desktop browser (windows) what should I try?

Is there a setting or exception to allow it to run? I’m assuming the privacy or ad blocking settings are the culprit

Is there a way to disable the messaging pop up + default comment being a private message in the YouTube app?

My friend sends me videos and the app prompts a yes/no to allow messaging and then defaults to showing a non existent chat between him and I instead of the public comments. I have to swipe to view those

I just want to view the video and comments by default without a pop up and without needing to swipe left or right to see them

If God stopped Abraham from killing Isaac (and directly intervened other times like with the flood to Tower of Babel) why didn’t God stop Adam or Eve before they ate the fruit?

Especially knowing the result would be consuming trillions of humans to sin and hell? Wouldn’t it be more important to stop the fruit than saving Abraham’s one son?

The more you think about it, the more it becomes clear that God wanted Adam and Eve to fail. Otherwise why put the tree there knowing they’d fail before they even existed? Why not make human nature inherently more resistant to sin and temptation to the point of them choosing to not fail the test? I say human nature to make it clear that they have full free will, it’s just how likely they are to succumb to sin due to their inherent human nature

And it’s concerning to think he did NOT set humans up for success. He didn’t do everything in his power to ensure MORE people made it to heaven versus less. Why not?

Mom keeps asking me to attend a Catholic singles mass and social event. Want advice

She keeps texting and reminding me about it and I have no intention of going...and I know she is going to ask if I went or ask why I didn't. She's also suggested a catholic pickleball league, which I said I'd consider but never attempted to join. At first, I wanted to schedule something else at the same time as this singles mass just to have an excuse not to go, but part of me wants to rip the band-aid off and explain how I'm not religious and probably never has been, and I don't want to raise any kids in the faith or go to Church daily. She's also asked if a person I started dating was Catholic, adding pressure on me.

For background I was raised Catholic, went to Vacation bible school, went to Catholic school K-12 and college. I think my mom knows or suspects I don't go to Church and she's never really pushed it on me, at least not in years.

Now I am in the phase in my life (32) where I am trying to date with the intention of finding my future wife and starting a family. On dating apps I avoid Catholic or Christian, knowing that I can't be the religious rock I'm sure they want their husband to be. I don't want to go through the motions or go to Church because I'm "supposed to" or out of peer pressure from family

I know my Mom pictures me as raising a Catholic family. She frequently mentions how getting married in a Church is amazing but I have no plans of doing that. I want to "come out" as agnostic, but wanted advice. I know this day was going to come and my plan was to let her know once I got serious with someone to make it absolutely clear that they didn't "corrupt" me and that it was my choice to no remain Catholic. Any tips or replies appreciated on how to approach this.

I am anxious about this knowing it will probably shatter how my mom pictured my life as a dad turning out. She may think it sends me to hell, I'm not sure. I want to explain that I plan to live a moral life and no matter what happens I'll be in good shape. Basically, my mind wants to be open to any possibility and I have not been satisfied when exploring my faith and questioning it + testing with logic etc.

I was thinking something like "Thanks for making sure I knew about it. I'm not going because I am not religious and that's not the type of group where I see myself finding a significant other. I know you want me to but I'm not interested." and maybe I can explain how I don't want to do something just because I'm asked to when I don't believe etc. Thoughts?

TL;DR: Mom has the impression I'd be interested in a singles Mass or wants to marry a Catholic. I do not. Want advice on how to respond and explain to her while "coming out" as agnostic

How many letters of the ABCs do you think the band will put out before they stop making music?

Could you see them dropping singles to get the whole ABCs done just to have them fully covered? Ex: yellow car, xylophone etc

Looking for boxer briefs. Preferably soft and with a slit in the front. Pouch preferred

Thanks in advance. I’ve tried several $20 packs and want to get some I actually love that don’t “press inward” half the time like my current ones do. I don’t want to feel like I’m wearing anything.

Fishing question: At a low level is there a penalty for just skipping to the last area's fish? Is it slower to catch or harder?

Debating if I work my way up or just skip to the new area's fish. Maybe it's best to collect the lower tiers for specific reasons?

Is it worth hunting for pristine fish?

Did something change? I destroyed a portal and got 0 finewood, 0 eyes, and 0 cores back. What gives?

I used a hammer. I didn't check the portal health but it had to be 95%+ health. Why did I get 0 materials back for destroying with my hammer equipped?

Does anyone have information on when the general sale for Ultra Miami tickets will be available?

I go to the website and it just has a placeholder page to subscribe for updates. I understand the presale came and went. When will general sale tickets be available? Or historically when do they become available?

Ok I can’t be the only one who thinks “All of Me” and “I’m Lost Without You” are pretty boring or subpar songs?

*All of THIS

I’m playing self titled front to back and I hit All Of This and it feels like such a drop in energy and overall interesting appeal compared to the rest of the album. It probably doesn’t help that the chorus just repeats the same line or 2 either. I just feel like I’m drugged before or after surgery listening with how slow it feels delivery wise. I’ve tried to give the song a chance probably 10 times and it just has never clicked. It’s not a matter of it being acoustic, because I love some of their other acoustics, I think it’s just the slow pace

I feel the same about I’m lost without you. Each word feels slowly dragged out and the energy is really low. Compared to the other songs they feel like a drop in quality or enjoyment for me

Does anyone else agree or is my taste in music absolutely wrong lol

Notes:

  • My company let go of 10% of its staff on the day my position was eliminated. They claimed it was due to financial reasons. They only offered 2 weeks severance after 6.5 years and didn't pay out any PTO (I have 25 days accrued). I asked if they could provide more severance and they said they couldn't. NC is a right to work state, so any paid PTO or severance is entirely up to the employer.
  • I had a few AI phone interviews, which were really strange and told me the company doesn't care enough to have an actual person interview candidates. They'll claim it saves time and money, but they're just lazy
  • I believe you have the best chance at being contacted if you apply within the first 30 applications. LInkedIn lets you search for a job and add "under 30 applications", which makes it easier to find new posts to boost your chances of getting contacted.
  • ChatGPT was an excellent resource where I would copy and paste job descriptions and update my resume to hopefully use the keywords the hiring teams are scanning for. I also used it for cover letters and to practice interview questions based on the job post in audio mode. This helped train myself to respond to potential interview questions.
  • I received 2 offers on back to back days. I used the 1st offer as leverage to get a quicker response from the 2nd company. I told them I had an offer, but I would prefer to work with them, which helped
  • When company 2 called to make an offer they asked what kind of role the other offer was for and what the range was. I declined to tell them a number and said it was a similar role and a similar range
  • Company 2 offered me the salary I had before my position was eliminated. Even though that was my goal, I asked if there was flexibility for more given my background and how well the interview went (their words). Company 2 said they brought the salary to the maximum they budged for in an attempt to get me. I said that all sounds good and accepted a few hours later.
  • The company never asked for references and I never provided them, which didn't occur to me until I accepted

I received an offer for 70K from one company and for company 2 they said around 75K. What are your thoughts on saying their offer was more like 75K to push for a salary more in the 77-80K range? I told them my range was 75-85K

I know it may depend on their budget. At the very least I can use it to help negotiate with company 2 knowing I have an offer awaiting a response

Background: I was getting paid 80K remote. This would be a 30 min drive and a pay cut from what I made before, so I'd like to get 80K or a little more if possible.

I know it's risky to make up a second offer to push the other company, but I legitimately have an offer. Was just wondering about the value I say. I don't think they could ever check...

Maybe I approach it saying I am sitting on an offer now. I’m not sure your budget but I said my range was 75-85, and then ask if 80K would be possible and see what he says

I’m talking about lyrics that, on paper, look very basic and are just copy and pasted…but the way the lines are delivered or the execution makes it extra impactful?

My answer is “All I Wanted” by Paramore. It’s the same line over and over, but Hayley’s vocals with the vibrato make it incredible
