How long does application take to process? Please help!

Hi, I recently applied and made an OpenCCC account for ELCO. I got a confirmation email with a confirmation number and it said it would take about 1-2 days to process. So far, it’s been 5 days. I’m wondering if they need me to fill out all the orientation stuff first? I do have access to it on my portal but I’m not sure what they want exactly :(

Why do you ice skate/figure skate? What's your motivation and goals?

Hello, I've recently been feeling a bit down about my skating and progress. I don't really know why I skate. Do I want to compete? Do I want to learn everything? What am I training for? What is the point of a sport? I've never done a sport in my entire life or been committed to anything as big as skating, so I'm always questioning why I'm trying this hard. Why do we try in sports? I know it makes me happy when I progress, but if we're talking big and broad, I don't really know why. Heck I feel embarrassed just warming up on freestyle sessions, no wonder I'm thinking like this. Another part of it is the money. So much money for so little progress, it's pretty demotivating and sometimes I just wish I was pushed into sports more as a little kid instead of as a teen. If anyone can share their experience and why they skate, what for, I would love to hear your story!

Can someone help me get something from anime expo? Willing to pay!

Hi! Sorry if this isn’t allowed in this subreddit, please feel free to let me know and take it down. If anyone is attending the 2026 anime expo and would be down to help me get the Frieren prize + Round1 card I would really really appreciate it and I’d pay 100% for cost and shipping. I believe it’s a crane game but it should be free to play. If anyone could help a girl out please send me a message!!

Frieren booth question

Hi! This is my first ever anime expo and I mainly wanted to go to experience it for the first time and to check out the Frieren booth that I heard I can get a free cute card and some prizes. Does anyone know how this works or if it has been a thing in past expositions? And if anyone has an estimate on how much money will need to be spent to have a good time (aside from the entry fee), that would be lovely! Thank you!

Is “Sanrio Original” and “Sanrio Smiles” counterfeit or official?

Hi, I bought a few keychains off of Taobao and they seem legit, but the tags I’ve never seen this wording before? It looks like an official Sanrio tag but I’ve never seen it written like this. Did I get scammed or nah?

How to tie thick hair in a bun without pin?

I've been wearing my hair in a ponytail for a while but it always gets in the way. However, the only way my hair stays in a bun (it is really freaking thick) is by using a stick as a pin and two hair bands tightly. I use this Chinese hair pin and it works so well but I heard it can be dangerous if it falls. I've tried multiple other methods and bobby pins but I'm struggling to get those to work. I also feel like bobby pins are also dangerous. I could possibly find a smaller stick but I'm not sure. I've tried braiding as well but it hurts to tighten due to the thickness of my hair and it ends up falling apart way too easily. Can anyone with long and thick hair let me know what you do? Or if it's even taboo to use a stick or bobby pins because I'm starting to think I can't hold it up otherwise.

Would it be weird to not be loud or scream/party at their concert?

They announced their tour, and alongside the “Put your phone down,” obviously the boys want people to get in the groove with their music, shout, you know? I always just feel so awkward to do these things as I have social anxiety and generally just like to sit and enjoy concerts. It makes me sad knowing they probably don’t like fans like me, but it’s just not who I am. I really do love their music a lot and a way I do support and just enjoy it by taking pictures and a few videos and overall just sitting and listening. I’ve had bad experiences at a few other concerts from other artists because I was “sitting,” which made me just so uncomfortable :(

At what point would I need to change to a more supportive boot?

For context, I currently own the Riedell Sparkles. They are just a teeny bit big on me length wise when my heel is locked in, but I don’t think this has caused me heavy issues. My main point is how uncomfortable the shoe itself is and how it may be impacting my skating. The seams poke at my foot and cause markings when I’m done on the ice. My ankle also hurts a lot. But if I tie it too loose, it feels very unsupportive.

This is what I’m currently working on with my coach recently: Edges (inside, outside, backwards, one foot edges), two foot turns and one foot turns, crossovers and backwards crossovers.

Would I need to change it or no? Any help is appreciated. I also have a problem with tensing my foot A LOT in the boot. It hurts so bad after a while of practicing. Like I can’t get a grip or strength in my ankle to hold me up so I’m all wobbly from my foot trying to keep me stable.

Backward crossover but not really?

My coach has been making me do these half backward crossovers for a while. I do a pump, then lift my outside foot and cross it over and then return my standing foot back. When I see others learning these crossovers, they don’t lift the foot to crossover, they just glide it back. Is this a learning practice thing? I’m assuming it is but would like confirmation!

Was anyone else prescribed Misight even though you aren’t 8-12?

As the title says, my myopia progression is pretty bad in my right eye specifically, so the optometrist wanted to try this out. Prior to this I think my myopia is already beginning to slow as I am 18, but she claimed it can still progress past this age. The issue is Misight has not done any clinical trials for those in my age bracket, so I’m kind of running in the dark hoping this would work. I also frequently take naps so this six days a week ten hours a day is a bit frustrating lol!! Has anyone else used Misight? Please tell me your experience

I was too awkward for my childhood friend of almost ten years.

As the title says, a few months ago my childhood friend, and best friend since middle school told me they were postponing our hangouts due to the awkward vibe we always have after catching up.

I began homeschooling my second semester of fresman high school, which is why we were apart for a few years. We hung out every now and then, but they always claimed they were busy so I chalked it up to that as well.

I had a bunch of christmas gifts prepared. They love christmas. No matter the holiday, I always wrap my gifts in christmas wrapping for them. They still wear the bag I gifted them. I’m eighteen now. I spent my birthday alone with my family, no friends. They have a bunch of new friends, and I’m just a social anxiety freak who struggles maintaining relationships I care about. I felt very hurt that day. I am still of course very glad she ended up telling me and being honest, but it still hurt like a ten ton brick. I didn’t express all of my emotions, I tried to keep face until the end. Even now, she’s not blocked, I sent her a birthday wish not long ago, and I don’t know if I’ll ever have the guts to block them or tell them how I truly feel. Seeing her along with my other friends I grew distant from (since we went to separate middle schools) post stories together on instagram breaks my heart. I used to cry seeing them, yet I still never deleted Instagram.

I always wonder if it’s my fault, my personality that led this to happen. I sometimes hang out with my old friends from middle school from time to time, but even the thought that it may be superficial ruins it for me. I left high school public in the first place due to my horrible anxiety, and the fact I lost my best friend in the process crushes me because she was one of the only people who truly understood me at the time. I wish someone understood me, a ride or die. Sorry for the rant. I just want support or advice. I can’t even sleep and I have to get up in a few hours. :(

Why is the registry department support so bad?

Did not answer any of my questions and ended the call abruptly. I’m so stressed, I’ve been classified under non resident tuition, and we can’t afford it. Not sure if I qualify for the AB540 due to doing homeschool online. Their emails suck too, what the hell is this?

Is this a mistake in instructions or do they want me to stick it on the back edge or something? If anyone has this set please lmk how you went about it or did it 🥲

I’m looking for those white face masks they wear that have sort of a stiff dimension to them like you can’t fold it like a normal mask. They look pretty sleek and look like they hold up well! The normal masks I wear due to my allergies always slip off my face and even if I double tie it around my ear it ends up hurting my ear. Also their masks look strangely breathable due to its shape. I’m sure normal people wear them as well but I need to ask a certain target group and I see idols wear that style often so if anyone knows please tell me! 😭

Do both of my parents information need to be included even if one lives in another state? It wouldn’t need it if they don’t live here do they? I emailed the office but they haven yet to get back because I have no received the email about what documents I need to send in. I’ve lived in California my entire life so this is stressing me out.

Submitted the SLR a few weeks ago but it is still pending. Can someone let me know if it's normal for it to still show a big X / incomplete on the portal?

This is maybe I think my 3rd ish time trying digital art. I still can’t seem to draw on an empty canvas without tracing my own pencil sketch. For this piece I looked up a few shading tutorials and just tried imitating it. I think overall it’s “passable,” but you can definitely see it looks clunky/messy sort of. If anyone has any tips and criticisms I appreciate it. Would also love any praises because it’s so hard to stay motivated xD
