my laptop has been slowing dying since the starting of this year, and unfortunately it crashed down as soon as i started uni (that too as a computing student).

some of my keyboard keys wont work properly (i click on the enter button or the arrow keys at times js to get [[[^C[[^ smth like this constantly or the right arrow key js gets stuck and the only way to break out of it is by clicking on the space button)

my laptop has gotten very very slow despite having plenty of storage

none of my networks work properly on it, only one does but that too fluctuates A LOT nowadays.

been getting frequent BSODs due to driver issues.

i rlly want a good laptop as a computing student (1 lac to 1.5 lac is my range) who is also planning on installing a dual partition of ubuntu on it. ill use it mainly for the sake of uni. ill keep my current laptop for personal uses.

i rlly need help. i was sick for a week due to dyssentry. i couldn't study properly for days as the hospital was my 2nd home temporarily. i unfortunately had quizzes last week and this week, first quizzes of the semester btw. my uni follows the absolute system and tchrs will conduct more quizzes + mids and finals will occur, but ugh, knowing that some of my recent quizzes have gone like shit makes me upset. i don't think i'll be able to get 3.3+ gpa man. i rlly need some help and advice.

i was assigned a PF task on 1st Sep, which was due on the exact same day (at night). I couldn't complete it as I was on medical leave. I asked my PF tchr for an extension for a day, but I still couldn't complete it as again, I was still recovering. Went to the hospital for drips and all.

Later on, Saturday ko on tha due to makeup classes. I also had a buttload of assignments and quizzes that I'm still not done with. What can I do now? 😕

guys, i'm a sucker for nostalgia, and i barely see people here talking abt anything from their childhood in ajman (presumably most of the ppl on this subreddit shifted to ajman after the covid days)

i'm always lurking on this subreddit despite being in my homeland (pakistan) now, bc i spent the first 11 years of my life here, before i left the country for good. even though i did spend 2 years of that period in pakistan, but i spent most of my vacations in ajman, my parents made me take weeks off too lmao js to hang out more w them in ajman. (i was in KG/gr 1 by then, so it wasn't a big deal)

i also get it that there wasn't much to do in ajman at that time, but still man. i would love to hear ppl being nostalgic over like safeer mall, or ajman city centre before its renovation (pls ik that mall was basically like a straight ass line before it got renovated). or even the corniche. heck, i even tried to find a couple of places that are now js memories to me, and lost media (like there was a wendy's and a london dairy outlet at ajman coop al rumailah branch)

pisses me off sm, dont wanna watch an ad everytime js to read smth. any alternative sites or anything? some stuff is purely available on webtoon and i dont wanna miss out on it

i'm planning on rewatching the winx (only the first 4 seasons) due to nostalgia's sake, plus, i might as well make my own AU of this show 😈 (or rewrite it)

anyways, instead of wondering whether i should watch the rai dub, or the 4kids or even the nick dub, imma js watch the show in italian, but w english subtitles. where can i watch winx club in italian but w english subtitles? lmk

(i grew up watching the 4kid dub of the first 3 seasons and the nick dub of the 4th one)

i'm torn between bs maths and bs computer games development. recently asked a cousin of mine which one i should go for, and he said bs computer games development as it has a lot of scope and isn't affected by AI unlike data science, which sounds ironic since i've seen AI prevailing in the games industry as well.

i also would like to do my bachelors in a degree that can, yk, save me whenever my plans for the future don't work out. i am interested in digital arts and want to make it my livelihood, however, i do want a backup in case it doesn't work out.

i am interested in the data science, econometrics related area, which is great since well, i have bs maths as an option. bs maths is also a versatile subject, as i can get into god knows how many fields (and i do want a master's degree so...)

and when we have my fear of judgement from my relatives since well... PAKISTAN 🗣 they will try to convince me to go for computer games instead of maths, because all i can do w a maths degree is become a tchr, which ik isn't true. (maths krne ke baad tchr bana hai ya kya???)

plus, they might use my relative as an example. he js graduated from cgd at air and has a face to face night job. ofc as an aurat zaat here, this is already a huge no. sigh

anyways, i would rlly appreciate some guidence and advice regarding this matter man.
