TLDR: Better traction is being promised. Nothing concrete in terms of release date.
Steve from Xero shoes: "A few months away" when asked on April 11th.
Via mail "hopes for fall/winter 2026. But no confirmation."
This is literally just a post to make the Info i have publicly searchable.
In the comments of this video Steven from Xero shoes confirmed that an Upgraded X2 with improved outsole material for better traction is coming.

So i emailed him asking if any further info can be provided.
According to him they are hoping that they'll have it ready for the fall/winter Season of 2026. But can not promise anything.
