how well will my procreate anatomy skills transfer to zbrush?

i’m planning on learning zbrush as a hobby so i can sculpt realistic body models for roblox ugc and hopefully make some side money from the sales. i’m a teenager and i’m not trying to turn sculpting or ugc into a serious career.

i already do digital art on procreate and have studied realistic anatomy, proportions, muscle groups and insertions and I’ve almost mastered anatomy. how much of that knowledge usually transfers over when learning 3d sculpting?

i haven’t properly researched zbrush or watched tutorials yet, but i will soon. i mainly wanted to ask which brushes you recommend for realistic anatomy, whether i should begin with a base mesh or sculpt from scratch, and what the usual workflow looks like from the first blockout to the finished model.

my plan is to sculpt the body in zbrush, then import it into blender to retopologize it, separate the body parts and adjust everything to meet roblox’s avatar requirements. Is there any issue with my master plan lol? Any advice from people who moved from 2d digital art into zbrush would help.

Made 77k Robux profit from my first UGC item, but I’m basically starting over now 😭

I made and uploaded my first ever UGC item myself and it ended up making around 77k robux in profit after tax. It was a full bundle that I modeled myself in velnder so honestly I’m still pretty proud of how well it sold considering it was my first attempt. It also wasn’t some cheap low level model.

I do feel kinda bad though because at the time I didn’t properly rig it myself. I used Roblox’s automated rigging process, thought it worked correctly, and assumed it had just saved me time. I didn’t notice all the problems until later, so people basically bought a bundle that had animation issues, stiff movement, weird joint deformation, clipping, awkward walking and idle animations, and parts of the body not moving as naturally as they should have.
I wasn’t intentionally trying to sell something broken, I genuinely thought the automated rigging had done its job properly, but I definitely learned my lesson lol.

I also got banned two months later in November for an accidental dispute purchase only almost eight months after publishing them and I only recently got unbanned in June so I’m thinking about getting back into UGC again. I probably won’t be making another bundle anytime soon because that one took me way too long to create, but if I ever do make another one, I’m properly rigging and testing everything myself before uploading it.

Right now I’m considering focusing mostly on makeup faces/ dedicated makeup heads. I plan on using procreate to make the faces and I’d say my rendering is well above most of the makeup UGC I currently see for sale, so I think that could be a better lane for me since id be able to stand out with my rendering. I’d probably mainly release makeup heads, then occasionally drop things like lashes, brows, facial piercings, beauty marks, face accessories, hair accessories, glasses, or other items that match the makeup.

The problem is that I’ve been gone for so long that I’m not really up to date with current roblox trends or what actually sells now. Do makeup heads still have strong demand, or is that market already too saturated? Would it be smarter to focus on a specific aesthetic instead of making random makeup styles?

I’m also delusional enough to think I could eventually reach 5 million Robux in profit sales within a year or two of properly launching my group and cash most of it out 😭

This is not some serious business plan or anything. I’m just a teen trying to make some money on the side while creating things I’m actually good at. I’d appreciate honest advice from people who are currently active in UGC and even people who don’t do UGC I’d like to hear your thoughts about this too!

P.S. I actually had a bunch of other models ready to publish too, including some pretty high end accessories, but my laptop got the Bsod and I ended up losing all the files. I couldn’t recover any of them :(

LF lineartbrushes

Hey, I’m looking for Procreate lineart brushes that can closely replicate the taper, stroke profile, and line quality of this brush. I’m specifically after brushes with the same pressure response, sharp tapering, and clean, consistent line variation. I want the closest replica to the brush used here in procreate please let me know if you have anything!

Smudging issue

Can you guys zoom in on this WIP and see the streak like circular marks ? It’s most prominent in the ears from what I saw. I smudge with a soft round airbrush, and they only showed up after I smudged . Does anyone know what causes this or how to fix it in Procreate ? It jsut really irritates me it only appears when I use any sort of airbrush for smudging

Valko theory

so i’ve been thinking a lot about the tiny crumbs we have for valko and i wanted to share a theory because it seems quite reasonable to me that infold is doing something massive here. we know he’s the head of a wolf clan and the chairman of eoncore tech, and everyone is already talking about how he’s supposed to be the direct narrative antithesis to rafayel. but if you look closer at that clan leader title, it points to a much bigger mythos than just basic werewolf pack dynamics. what if his wolf clan used to be the ancient ruling class (Royalty) of their entire civilization, and valko isn’t just an alpha, he is actually their literal living deity. it would completely mirror rafayels divine status over lemuria, giving both characters equal marrative importance by splitting the lore between a land god and a sea god.

this setup creates a flawless duality when you look at how their respective civilizations handled history and how it shapes who they are in the main storyline. rafayel governs the fluid, untamable ocean, but lemuria collapsed into tragedy. that left him as a deeply traumatized, vengeful deity carrying the ghosts of a dead civilization, completely isolating himself and burying his grief under a dramatic, fluid artist persona. on the flip side, valkos ruling class clan actually adapted and survived the passage of time. instead of mourning a lost past, valko is a god actively leading his people through the modern world right now, keeping them safe in plain sight within human society by running a major tech company as a rigid, pragmatic ceo.

infold absolutely loves playing with elemental and personality irony for these character dualities, and this deity angle makes the split so damn sharp. rafayel belongs to the hidden deep water but wields a volatile, consuming fire evol, using a soft, frivolous exterior to mask his lethal nature as an assassin. valko completely flips that dynamic because he is a literal primal beast of nature and the forest, but he manipulates all sorts of metal through his metallization evol. We actually saw him use it in the trailer when he landed on a rock. he will almost certainly use a harsh, monstrous, or unyielding exterior to hide a fiercely protective, deeply caring leader underneath. the thematic contrast is insane, a sea god who controls fire versus a wild land beast who controls metal, setting up valkos upcoming myths as the counterweight that rafayels deep sea lore needs.

it just makes too much sense for infold to leave him as a standard modern werewolf when they have the chance to build this kind of epic mythological story. what do you guys think about the wolf deity angle, do you think his myths are going to go this deep or am i just overanalyzing the crumbs we have so far.

I’m already heads over heels for this alpha 😚

Need help with deleting data from safari

As you can see in the screenshot, Documents & Data is taking up around 40 GB of storage. I’ve tried fixing it myself without success, and I also contacted Apple Support. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to resolve the issue and only suggested the same troubleshooting steps I’d already tried, such as clearing website data and cookies. Im not very experienced with this, so if anyone knows what might be causing it or how to fix it, I’d really appreciate the help.

How do I fix this powdery brush

Im working on this portrait WIP and the rendering keeps coming out way too soft and foggy, especially around the eyes, nose, lips, jaw, and hairline. I’m not using blur at all, so I’m trying to figure out what’s causing the edges to melt like this.

The brush is a dual brush with the primary brush being a soft circular brush shape and the second is a scratch like shape so I’m wondering what settings I should adjust to fix it. Should I be changing spacing, opacity, flow, texture, wet mix, dual brush mode, or something else? I still want a smooth look, just with cleaner structure and less of that smeared/airbrushed softness.

Is Photoshop on iPad limited compared to desktop for photorealistic art?

I want to start making more of my art in Photoshop, but I mainly work on an iPad because drawing on a desktop setup feels uncomfortable and annoying to me.

For people who use both is the Photoshop iPad version noticeably degraded compared to the desktop version, especially for serious digital painting? I mostly do realism art so I’m mainly worried about the brush engine. Does the iPad version limit how far you can push realistic rendering, blending, texture, pressure control, brush behavior, etc., compared to desktop Photoshop? Or is it powerful enough for high end painting as long as the artist knows what they’re doing? I do have access to desktop Photoshop, I just strongly prefer working on the iPad and just want to know if the iPad version is less powerful and by how big of a margin?

Coloring pencils

Can anyone help me find Procreate brushes that can imitate a similar colored pencil texture and stroke quality to the ones used in these images? Paid or free doesn’t matter. I’ll also attach a finished drawing and some raw brush strokes for reference. The artwork was created with traditional colored pencils, and I’m looking for Procreate brushes that can replicate that look as closely as possible. I’m also not looking for generic pencil packs. Thanks

Found this guy on RedNote and instantly thought of Sylus

Was scrolling on RedNote and came across these photos. I genuinely thought of Sylus the second I saw him. The face is what got me. The eyes, brows, bone structure, jaw, expression, all of it. He looks so much like a real life Sylus that it honestly caught me off guard. Thought I’d share because I know I can’t be the only one seeing it. And for those wondering his name is Edoardo Sebastianelli

P.S. I used to think the Syrian psycho/ K shami resembled him, but after seeing this guy, I don’t think they’re even close anymore.

Black Sylus

I was just wondering how Sylus would look with a darker skin tone, so I got bored and edited him in Photoshop. And for some reason… I think he might actually be hotter now. Lmfao.

I wasn’t trying to make any statement or anything. I was just curious how a different complexion would change his overall look , and the result ended up looking surprisingly good to me.

Also, if he looks too dark on your screen, turn your brightness up because some of the details get lost otherwise. What do you guys think?

Would you buy these procreate brushes

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if I could get some honest feedback. I’m considering selling a Procreate brush pack and wanted to know whether you think it would sell well.

I’ve attached a few artworks demonstrating the brushes in use. Just to be clear, I did not create any of the artwork shown. Images 1 and 2 were created by one artist, while image 3 was created by a different artist. All of them were made using my brushes.

These brushes were specifically created with the goal of emulating Photoshop brush behavior as closely as possible within Procreate. A lot of the focus was placed on achieving a more Photoshop-like painting experience rather than creating flashy brush effects.

Also, please note that the raw brushstrokes themselves are actually fairly ugly and unimpressive on their own. They aren’t designed to produce beautiful marks with every stroke. Instead, they’re intended to build form, texture, edge control over the course of a painting. I also can’t attach images of the raw brush strokes since I’m not at home and I don’t carry my iPad with me.

Based on the results shown, would this be something you’d consider purchasing? I’d appreciate any honest feedback on the brushes, pricing, appeal, and whether you think there’s a market for something like this.

Caleb Art, thoughts?

Did two different smudge/render passes on this sketch plus a blurred version. Which one reads more appealing to you guys? Didn’t fully finish the accessory/material rendering yet.

Art advice wanted

I didn’t finish rendering the ears, clothing, background, or hair. Only the facial rendering is about half finished. I ended up losing motivation because I didn’t want to continue the piece any further. Still, I’d really appreciate advice on how I could transform my art into the style shown in the second picture.

Art critique wanted

Trying to push my rendering closer to pic 2’s style. Pic 1 is mine. I feel like I’m missing something in the facial rendering/render integration but I can’t fully pinpoint it yet. Any advice on what specifically I should focus on fixing or studying? We also share the same exact brushes. I’m assuming mine has basically 0 texture is bc I over blended. It’s also unfinished I didn’t wanna go further with the unfinished piece. You can also ignore the ears they’re meant to be covered by the hair that’s why they’re simplified and undeveloped

How much should i price a refined sketch like this?

Trying to get opinions on what a highly refined sketch at this level would realistically be worth price-wise. I attached the piece I made for reference.

Note: This is not me accepting commissions.

Art advice wanted

I rushed this render and finished it in about an hour and a half. The first image is the render I completed within that time, while the second render is from about a week ago. I’m trying to continue improving my art, so I’d really appreciate feedback on what I could fix or strengthen in my most recent piece.
