using SP404 to get mk.gee sound?

Has anyone here managed to use the effects from an SP404 to have their guitar sound close to mk.gee? If so, what do I have to do to achieve that? I don't have too much money to spend on pedals but I do have an SP404 mk2 and don't really wanna mess about with plugins either as I prefer a DAWless workflow

Any advice is appreciated!

Modded a Game Boy Advance!

I bought the GBA on fb marketplace for PHP2,000 but sadly the sound wasn't working, so I had the capacitor replaced by a local repair guy and then spent roughly PHP4,000 on parts and after 1 week of refreshing the tracking page non stop...viola! A GBA you can actually see in the dark! 😂 (even when its off lol, it glows!)

As much as I love games with good graphics and grand/long stories that take 100 hours to complete, I realize now that I'm getting older and have less time (and money) on my hands, these simpler games are catching my short attention span more than big triple A titles.

If you have a GBA or even older Game Boy stored in your house somewhere, this is your sign to give it some new life!

First modded GBA since 2021! Laminated ITA Screen + Lake Green Shell

So happy to have a GBA again :) Had to sell off my GBAs and most of my collectibles a few years ago when things were hard financially, so its been awhile since I had one in my hands. I got one off the fb marketplace for roughly $30, everything was working except the sound so I just had to change the capacitor and it was working like a charm!

Spent about $100 on everything and I'm really happy with the GBA. I bought a purple shell too just to see which I liked better, but I realized that the purple shell for the laminated screens is hardly translucent and you really need sunlight to see through it since its super dark and really frosted.

As much as I love the IPS screens and their colors, I think the ITA mod is the best for GBA, it looks like playing on a mini CRT and reminds me of playing on my AGS-101 SP as a kid.

I am bummed though cuz I ordered an Ezflash Air and it was dead after updating the firmware lmao, so Im stuck playing Buus Fury even if I havent played Legacy of Goku 2 yet cuz its the only cartridge I have

EZ Flash Air doesn't boot after firmware update

Need some help! I just got the cart an hour ago, I updated the firmware and turned off the console when it said so on the screen after it hit 100%, I then went to boot up my GBA again but the EZ Flash Air just vibrates and only shows the gameboy logo and doesnt boot into the EZ Flash.

Has anyone else experienced this and managed to fix it? I saw someone else in the group who fixed the issue but they needed to put the cartridge into a DS, which is not something I just have laying around unfortunately. Any advice?

Some GBA builds I did during the pandemic

Had to sell them off awhile back (in like 2023) to pay some bills but I just ordered some parts for a new build and ended up reminiscing on my old ones, can't wait to play GBA again!

What games have you guys been playing recently?

Is the SC01 Deck Build Box good for a complete beginner?

I'm trying to find the most accessible way to get into the game as I don't have as much money to spend on TCGs or as much time as I used to. I still don't know how to play the game but have been eyeing it since release, I used to play Digimon A LOT and play one piece on the simulator every now and then so I assume it'll be similar in gameplay, but I just want to know if the SC01 has enough cards to help me get started with building a decent deck?

Any advice is appreciated!

GBA sound issue

So I got a GBA today for $30, boots into games and runs fine, screen seems dimmer than normal though but it might be due to age but Im planning to get an ITA kit anyways, however, there is almost no sound coming out of the speakers.

When I stick the speaker to my ears like a cellphone, I hear the sound super faintly, so quiet that if a fan was on you'd probably not hear it, but its there. There is also audio when connecting to the GBA via the jack but the sound when booting is super distorted but seems to sound better when its actually in a game with minimal distortion mostly on highs. Any idea what the issue might be?

I already put some iso on the potentiometer and moved it back and forth, it seemed to temporarily fix the distorted boot issue with headphones plugged in, but after an hour of it being off, it sounds distorted again upon boot. I may need to find a way to do a deeper clean, I'm hoping it's just something simple that won't require me to change capacitors as I have no idea how to solder and the most Im willing to do will probably be a speaker swap lol

Any advice is appreciated!

Downsides to SuperFW + Supercard?

Ive been planning on getting a Supercard flash cart since the Ezflash omega is almost $100 in my country. I had one years ago and paid half that, not sure what happened lol.

Anyways, I hear SuperFW mentioned on here often and I see the firmware has apparently made the Supercard into a decent flash card.

My only question is if anyone has experienced issues with SuperFW and if I'll have any problems playing games like Pokemon that have RTC features

Zoom MS-70CDR

I'm needing some advice on a pedal purchase, I've been a musician (drummer) all my life however, I'm new to guitars and am actually still learning but I recently bought an SP404 MKII and while I know there are already built in effects on it, I would like a dedicated pedal for shoegaze.

I see a lot of the MS-70CDR being sold for cheap local to me and the CDR+ being about double what I'm seeing the non plus model for. Is it worth it paying for the + model? what am I missing out on with going with the older pedal?

Any advice is appreciated!

Notable free sample packs?

Are there any free notable sample packs that you guys can recommend? I just got my SP404 and I'm looking to load up an SD card with some sounds. I don't mean like song samples, just looking for sample packs that have stuff like drum kits, synth sounds, etc.

Most of the packs I see mentioned in videos are usually paid or is a pack that the creator is selling, nothing wrong with that other than the fact that I'm broke after buying the SP404😂

Size for knob replacement?

I just ordered my SP404 (frick yeah) and was wondering what size knobs I gotta buy for the 404 if I want to customize the look a little bit? I'm having a hard time finding a concrete answer on the size so any advice would be appreciated!

Also I live in Southeast Asia so please avoid recommending sites like mpcstuff because shipping would just cost too much for me

just a dude on a budget that needs help picking a battle deck

I'm looking to get back into playing the TCG after a long time of being away from it

I did play quite a few hours on Pokemon TCG Live though when Charizard ex was new like 2 years ago and played a lot of Giratina but other than that, I haven't touched the game since

I'm really busy with work nowadays and have a lot more responsibilities so I won't be able to spend a lot on my deck like I used to growing up but want a deck that can be competitive but also not too expensive either as I probably won't have too much time to play so I dont want to invest too much into it but I still want to make time for big tournaments

so heres what I'm wondering, I'm currently looking at the mewtwo and mega lucario battle decks and see that theyre at a really good price, I know Ill have to buy a few cards to upgrade them but thats not too much of an issue and I have quite a few staples from over the years that I can hopefully put into the deck

I wanna know which of these 2 are the right pick for me? Will either of these decks survive the next rotation or will I have to build something new again for 2027? I'm also really biased toward the team rocket deck right now just cuz pokemon the first movie is genuinely in my top 5 films of all time lmao but gen 4 is my favorite gen so I dont mind lucario either but prefer mewtwo, just want to hear your guys' thoughts
