First Fans to See the Movie in Two Continents? Lol... maybe

Flew out to Australia, first thing we did was go to Hoyts in Sydney to see the movie (it was raining)! Not 100pct sure, but I think we are the first/only people to see the movie on two continents/different hemispheres/sides of the planet! Made a little sign thanking Roger Sweet and Mark Taylor for creating the characters, took pics with the credits, as they were not credited in the film. After, went and asked for any promo swag as a souvenir, they had none out front but went in the back and found me this tin, just gave it to me. Pretty sweet! You can see the Opera House outside our hotel window with the tin.

Fan art Usagi Yojimbo by Eric Henson

Absolutely love this! Recently got this commission back from Eric Henson and he absolutely crushed it. Usagi Yojimbo with 2 remarques...Eric's classic Ronin (I asked him to do the orange bandana just for contrast) and the TMNT weapons armory. Hoping to get this signed by Stan Sakai too! See Eric's work here...://www.erichensonart.com

Found This Today!

Not sure where to share this, so I'm doing my groups who can appreciate stuff like this. Was going through a closet, found a canister. Opened it and this was inside. PSA DNA hand signed by George Lucas! 11x14. Wife bought it as one of my bday gifts, it arrived late, so she put it away for Christmas. 8 months later, forgot about it. Had this for 12 years and had no idea. PSA says not part of any sets. Crazy.

Stan Sakai and Captured Collectibles

Not sure where to ask this, so posting in the comics areas I know...first, has anyone used Captured Collectibles for send-ins? Are they legit, take care of your stuff, get things done the way you discussed, etc?

Second, related...I would be sending in something for Stan Sakai to sign at SDCC, but I want him to sign it in a specific area, which would also need him to sign in a smallish way. I have seen his signature and it is normally quite large, with lots of swoopy curls if that makes sense (see pic). Has anyone ever gotten him to sign something, but smaller? Is it just impossible to even ask for that for a send-in?

I was thinking that if I sent it in bagged, taped closed, with a window cut out, taped off, cut to a small rectangle that would work? Never done this before though so wanted to ask the community. Thanks

What Giant Robots Cartoon Was This From (Help, Vague Question)?

I have searched over and over trying to find this, so now finally posting the question to see if anyone else has a clue about this. My details are vague, but here goes. I remember watching a cartoon in the 80s about big robots. I do not believe it was Voltron and I know it is not Transformers or GoBots. I believe that people were in the robots. It could have been Mazinger, Robotech, Gundam, maybe? I have looked at Starvengers, their episodes 24, 25, 26 seem closest but I still do not think that is it.

I am thinking about one episode in particular. The good robot/robots/mechas had to protect a city that was under attack by TWO villain monsters. One was a typical walking robot and it had wings, sort of spherical, which I believe were red, and it closed itself up in those wings, using them as a shield which the good robot could not penetrate. My naming of them as wings could be wrong, I just know it would close up like a clamshell to protect itself from blasts.

The other monster robot was (again, I think...I was very young) a white robot, a scorpion I think. I remember the good guys thinking the city was lost, as they could not stop the winged/shielded robot that was attacking the city. Then they realized/figured out that the real thing they needed to destroy was the white scorpion robot. That is all I can remember.

I do remember there being a very anime art to it, with dark cannon blasts, damage, etc. Think Voltron. Typical 'scratchiness' to the action scenes of old anime.

Hoping anyone out there has an idea, I realize it is not much to go on. Thanks

Megalith KS from Bad Idea

This finally showed up a couple weeks ago. This is an unboxing. Not sure if this is something CGC will grade?Really turned off so many KS backers due to lying and just non communication from Bad Idea (they continue not to reply to anyone). 3 years for this! That all said, the final product is absolutely gorgeous. Best comic product I have ever received as far as overall production. Huge, thick paper, amazing story, art, colors, textures, binding, everything just pops. LaRosa, Kindt, Martin should be proud. Bad Idea did provide a print of Megalith apologizing to us all (4th pic). Also, in the company info/about /copyright printed area they had small print that said 'Megalith?? More like MegaLATE!'. I hope to get it signed by the creators but we shall see.

Firestorm 1, Most Sigs Ever?

Thrilled to get this back and to finally have it finished! Everyone I could get has now signed this book, legendary names like Gerry Conway, Todd Klein, Al Milgrom, Klaus Jansson, and finally, Jack Harris! Jack just sent this back to me, signed exactly where I had indicated in matching red. He also sent a signed copy of his book, 3D Substance, such a nice gesture. Now to frame this piece of history! From what I am told, it may be the only one with all these signatures.

Susan Cooper!

Sent this off to Susan Cooper to sign, just hoping she would. Not only did it come back signed, but she signed the cover too, knowing we would have it out on display! She also included a handwritten letter which we are keeping with the book on display. Absolutely thrilled, especially as we saw the package just show up on our doorstep, not sure if she got it or was just return to sender.
