my ureaplasma has become resistant to doxi after a failed 10 day course (no azithro). (yes i had proper resistance testing, before anyone asks. i am not american and i have private healthcare so the antibiogram is standard practice)
i got prescribed azithro only two different ways from two different doctors (500mg/day for 10 days vs 1g/day for a week) and i'm not sure which one would be best to follow, so i'm interested in the experiences of others!
i tested positive for ureaplasma 4 months ago. my doctor did an antibiogram which showed that it was sensible to all antibiotics (levofloxacin, moxifloxacin, tetracycline, erythromycin, telithromycin). I took 14 days of doxy, no azithro. The issue is, and what I think may have caused my issues, is that I got some small pill-sized tablets which were supposed to be dissolved in water. I wasn't told this by the pharmacist and I only found out around day 10 so I was swallowing them whole most of the time, and I'm afraid that caused the treatment to not absorb properly.
I tested positive again ~1 month and ~2 months after treatment. Got an antibiogram again, except this time it shows up as resistant to tetracyclines, still sensible to everything else. My doctor prescribed me 500mg pf azithromycin for 7 days every 12 hours. I went with this prescription to my GP and she said she's never seen azithro prescribed in this regimen and that I shouldn't take it this long.
i asked my gyno about the regular treatment of 14 days doxy + azithro afterwards, based on studies and guidelines I read online. she said that since the antibiogram shows resistance, doxi won't do anything. she also said and i quote to "leave the medical studies to people who are educated enough to understand them" damn, my bad! but now i don't feel like i can bring up a possible treatment with moxi or another antibiotic.
i'm honestly at a loss about what i should do. on one hand, i would like to trust the doctor. however, based on many people's experience, including my own sisters, azithro by itself doesn't do shit for ureaplasma. i also previously dealt with a recurring candida from antibiotics which quite frankly traumatised me, so i just have no idea what to do next. not to mention, i just tested positive for three hpv strains, so i don't want to further weaken my immune system... i will get in touch with another telehealth gyno for a 3rd opinion, but if anyone who had tetracycline resistance managed to cure their ureaplasma, i'd love to know what worked!!
tested positive for ureaplasma ~4months ago. had an antibiogram done which flagged it as sensible to doxy, took 14 days 2x a day. a lot of symptoms cleared up, however after testing twice (~1 month and then ~2 months after treatment) the ureaplasma still came back positive. had another antibiogram done, now it shows up as resistant to doxycycline 🥲
my doctor prescribed me two weeks (!! correction, i got one week not two!!) of 500mg azythro 2x a day. i haven't seen anyone mention this treatment plan in the sub. i was wondering if someone has experience with taking just azythro, especially at this high a dose? i'm a bit reluctant, especially since i've heard azythro can be pretty harsh and not very effective, and i'm very prone to yeast infections from antibiotics so i want to avoid taking any unnecessary ones.

when the serum arrived, the shipping label had musinsa as the sender. i'm really confused and i have not ordered from coupang before, so i'm not really familiar with it. does anyone know what the explanation may be behind musinsa selling skincare under a random shady 3rd party on coupang..? i'm not sure if the serum is counterfeit, at this point i'm debating ordering one from the official store so i can have a comparison.

i have a package which requires a signature which was supposed to be delivered this morning. i was home, however it turns out that super luckily, my doorbell is broken, so the driver left and it was marked as a missed delivery.
now, as soon as i got the email and realised i went to their website, but it was updated to just say it will be delivered tomorrow, so i didn't worry much and went out. i came home in the evening and found a card in my mailbox which i didn't check this morning. it's from fedex and it says "missed delivery. final attempt. package will be returned to sender if we don't receive further delivery instructions"
the tracking info still shows it will be delivered again tomorrow. if i open the qr code and try to manually provide shipping instructions, it only lets me schedule it from thursday onwards.
does anyone know if it is still necessary for me to go on their website and reschedule it? today was the first delivery attempt, i've never had a package not make at least two delivery tries or go to a pickup point. i would like to receive it as soon as possible, but i don't know if i should reschedule for thursday just to be safe

essentially, do korean men need to enlist before or after they turn 28? at which point do they get entered in the draft and risk being called/need to make requests to postpone their enlistment?
my understanding was that at a certain age korean men are entered in the draft after which they can get called at any time, and once they are called they can make a request to postpone it for a certain amount of time.
i thought that the year of being 28 is the last year they have free essentially, and that they enter the draft only when they turn 29 and can delay it a couple months max from there. i've seen other sources say they actually enter the draft once they turn 28 and then can delay it for a few months to max until they turn 29, after which, if theyre called, they have to go, and there's a chance their delay request would not be approved.

hello! i am having a big package of merch items sent from korea to the netherlands. the merch is for personal use, it is items me and some friends ordered together to a proxy in order to save on shipping costs.
i am having troubles filling in the customs declaration however. first of all, i'm not sure if this would fall in the "gift" or "merchandise" category. secondly, there is a lot of types of items. how detailed should the declaration be? for example, there are around 30 of the same keychain blind box inside, and i'm afraid this may look weird to customs. would greatly appreciate some advice regarding this. i usually undervalue packages i receive from korea, but last time it got flagged by customs and i got asked for proof of payment, which really stressed me out.
i've been ordering albums and pcs from korea using a kaddy for a while. i had no issue declaring the customs value for these, as it's few items and especially for pcs, nobody expects them to be expensive.
however, i recently started buying merch for me and other people, and declaring the customs value is a bit more complicated, since there's so many things. does anyone have advice for guidelines on how they manage the declared value for packages with more varied contents? on my last package, i got asked for proof of price which was very stressful because i didn't have it for many things, or the value i declared wasn't entirely accurate. i managed to clear the package without issues, but i'd like to avoid this in the future... declaring the actual value or close to it would pretty much cancel out any benefit of buying from korea using a proxy, especially with the new european import tax regulations

So, one of my favourite groups is having a concert across the world in two weeks. Extremely short notice, I've been mulling over going or not for the past month. Sorry for being all over the place, I'm in seven different minds about this whole thing.
I REALLY want to go. The concert lines up with some cool events also related to the group, as a fan I feel like it'd be a great experience and also something I probably will never get to do in the future ever again. On the realistic side: it's super short notice (even more so now after I've spent one month going back and forth, fortunately prices haven't changed much, a hundred euros increase maybe overall), it'd eat up half my savings and I'm already taking a massive pay cut from September onwards. I am a student and will not be able to work at my previous job anymore, where I got paid essentially 2x what I will get paid from September (and the chances of getting lucky with another high paying job are low). I am fully supporting myself financially, but recently my family has had some financial issues, and I did have to help them with some (a lot) of cash. Also, from September on I am starting a new degree which will significantly constrict my schedule as it requires a lot of attendance.
A big factor is also that I was in the country where the concerts are held three months ago, so it feels kinda stupid to spend 1k on a flight there just for the concert. There is the option of going to see these concerts at a later stop in a different country, but that would also be within the next 8 months or so, and have the issue of me not knowing if my schedule will allow me to book a trip during the school year + the additional events are only organised now. Plus, travelling to other countries would cost either the same or more, so what's the difference if I spend the money now or later? (besides the fact that I have time to make peace with the idea, save up some more. I hate spending money). I also have no guarantee I'll secure tickets in the future, this is a really popular group and the fact that I have tickets now is a lot of luck.
The logical side of my brain says this is a bad decision. I booked flight tickets once last week and immediately cancelled them (bless 24 hour cancellation), but today I cancelled the accommodation which I had reserved and felt like crying. I can't bring myself to sell the concert tickets either.
I really want to go, but I'm afraid it will have bad effects on the future, financially, especially since my savings are my only safety net (except from well, taking out student loans, which I can always do). I feel like this is a situation where I can't win, I'll be sad if I don't go since this is my favourite group and due to reasons, there's a high chance I may not get to see them again. There's been a bunch of times in the past where I wanted to see them and couldn't afford it AT ALL, now I could technically, but my future just feels too uncertain for such a big spending right now. Considering all the financial issues that have happened in the past 3 or so months, I feel like it may come back to bite me in the ass. I am not currently in a bad financial position per se, I still have a job even with the pay cut, but it would take a toll on my savings which I'm not sure I'm comfortable with.
Half of the people in my life are telling me to go, half are telling me it's stupid. Every time I got excited about going, someone told me how much of a waste of money it is and I immediately deflated. The very next moment, someone else would tell me it's a once in a lifetime opportunity and "money comes back, you'll figure it out". Would love for someone to just make the decision for me
In Nov 2022 (my first year or Uni) I started taking out the tuition loan from DUO, and from September 2023 I started taking the grant. I just finished my WO Bachelor in 4 years instead of 3, and will be starting a two year Master's in September.
I was under the impression that I can get the grant for 5 years and that I can loan for 7. I did not realise that the years start being counted from the moment I take out any type of student finance for all products, regardless if they are used or not. Therefore, as it currently stands, I have 16 months left of student finance, which won't cover my degree to the end. I know this is my own stupidity, as I never actually paid attention to the months counter in Mijn DUO.
Does anyone know if there may be any way to get granted an extension by DUO, since for 10 months I only had a tuition loan, no other products activated (not even the travel product)?
Last night I made a reservation with LOT for an AMS-ICN Seoul flight. Unfortunately something came up overnight which made the dates inconvenient, so I decided to cancel and book a different flight, since they have a 24 hour no-fee cancellation policy. I tried to fill in the refund form online but couldn't, because I could not locate the ticket number anywhere on my reservation.
I called the call centre and managed to cancel the reservation with an employee. He said that since its within 24 hours, I am fine to get the full refund with no fees and will receive a confirmation by email.
I did receive the confirmation after I thanked him and hung up, however it says that "If accepted, the funds will be reimbursed to the original form of payment". I am now nervous because now the reservation is cancelled and not on my account anymore. but their website mentions that one of the conditions for the full refund is also "having a 080 ticket number" and I was not able to provide it (because it was never issued to me, I never received the e-ticket). The man over the phone didn't mention any issues about this, but I am very nervous about fine print.
Does anyone have experience with this policy of LOT's and received their money back with no issues? I'm probably overthinking this, but I will just worry for the upcoming week until the refund is processed otherwise. I'm debating just calling again to confirm, but the wait time is pretty long and I don't have the chance now

stray kids will be starting their new tour in seoul at the end of july/early august. i had my mind set on attending the beginning of the tour, as i was expecting it to be in early autumn. when it was announced in july/august, it threw me off. for the first couple of days after the announcement i started making peace with the fact that i'm not going, and then i managed to get a ticket in presale.
since i am still second guessing the timing, i was looking into alternative dates in asia i may be able to attend, and settled on hong kong+taipei in december.
i am honestly overthinking things. i know i want to go see this tour sometime this year (and can only afford to go once atm), so I've made a list of pros and cons. If anyone has the interest to read my bullshit give me a second opinion, I'd highly appreciate it, as I clearly can't make up my mind by myself (I've been debating what to do for over a week)
Pros for Seoul: I loved Seoul + I have a ticket + I was there recently so I am pretty comfortable solo + Stray Kids are also having their comeback around the same time as the concerts so I'd catch the album release
Cons for Seoul: I was there VERY recently + I'm planning to go there next year again for sure + I have a ticket for ONLY one concert out of three I'd be there for + the weather will probably be unbearable so I feel like I'd spend a lot of money to be inside all day
Pros for HongKong/Taipei: opportunity to visit new countries + better timing + better weather + concerts have VIP packages (Seoul doesn't) + I will have a friend in Asia who may be able to join me for a weekend
Cons for HongKong/Taipei: would almost certainly be my first big solo trip in countries I've never been to + I will not be certain I can get the time off work/school until December, but it is about 75% certain at the moment I'd say
Both trips would cost around the same at the current moment, unless HongKong/Taipei flights get significantly more expensive in the next 2-3 months. Another big factor that makes me reluctant to wait for future dates is that my bias is approaching military enlistment, and I'm terrified of what happened with EXO's Kai happening with him.

hi! i'm gonna be in seoul end of july/beginning of august and i'm trying to decide where i would like to stay.
i was in korea for the first time with a friend last time a couple months ago, this time i will be solo. we stayed for 1.5 weeks in myeongdong and 4 nights in hongdae last time. i felt myeongdong was great to get to all the main touristy attractions, but after around 7 nights i started feeling there wasn't much to do in the evening and it was way too busy.
i liked hongdae and would've liked a couple days more there. i was thinking to stay around that area this time, and i ended up finding a very good deal on accommodation around mangwon market. i unfortunately did not make it to mangwon area last time, but the stay seems to be ~15 min by public transport/30 min by foot to the centre of hongdae. i'm not sure if this is too far out from everything else in seoul? if anyone stayed in the area, could you please share your thoughts?
staying in/around meyongdong would be very convenient when it comes to public transport, but i don't think i can handle the crowds again, especially during monsoon season heat....
has anyone used the intl version of ticketbay? if yes how was your experience, did you have any issues? does it offer the same protections as the korean site?

I finally splurged on the Shiseido lash curler. I have to say, the shape fits my eye great, however it feels so incredibly loose? There is no bounce/recoil/spring when I press on my lashes and the mobile part just kind of rattles and moves, it doesn't stay in place. Is this normal for this eyelash curler or did I get a faulty one? I usually prefer lash curlers with a small spring built in so I don't need to press as hard, but the shape on this one is really good so I don't know if I want to keep it or not
