A couple of years ago, we had a significant assessment related to the building’s structural integrity. That was followed by an elevator assessment to bring the elevators into compliance with current electrical standards. We are now facing three additional elevator-related assessments, plus another assessment to fund the reserves.
I’m already attending board meetings and reviewing the association’s financial documents. Not sure if running for the board be a worthwhile next step, or are there other effective ways to get more involved and better understand or influence these decisions.

Update: the surgery is this Thursday and I am on the edge of cancelling due to rare and minor symptoms. What do you think? Should I?

Hopefully someone can help me decide whether surgery is the right choice for me.

I’ve seen two surgeons and two gastroenterologists, and all of them have essentially said the same thing: it’s a 50/50 decision and ultimately up to me whether to proceed with surgery.

I’ve had a gallstone for more than 12 years. It has grown from 1.4 cm to 2.1 cm over that time. My symptoms have been very mild—occasional pressure or discomfort, some sensitivity to spicy and dairy foods, occasional bloating, and mild nausea. I’ve NEVER had a severe gallbladder attack.

That said, I know the stone isn’t going away on its own. I could continue living without major issues, but there’s also the possibility of having an attack at an inconvenient time or place, such as while traveling abroad.

I’d appreciate any recommendations or experiences from others who have faced a similar decision.

Does anyone else’s ride feel more rough (feeling bumps, etc.) after years?

So, I had a technician come out to check the freezing evaporator coil. They found a pressure differential and recommended replacing the valve inside the air handler. However, after they put the access panel back on, the AC stopped starting altogether. First they said the wiring must have been disturbed, then they said it was the transformer. Either way, I’m without AC until Monday because the warranty parts suppliers are closed for the weekend.
Do you think it’s worth getting a second opinion tomorrow?
