Haven’t touched lino since I left school 9 years ago

It’s so much more fun than I remember in art class! I can’t wait to fill my house with prints!

the face of a boy who terrorised the estate

Mister Stink (gov name Bainne) was allowed to run around off leash on the small green area outside our house before I left for my first day of work. He decided to run around to every cul de sac, and lead a small group of dogs around with him. Terrible influence. He came home when he felt like it.

Recovery trucks on a Sunday

Lads I have a fully loaded box truck that’s stuck in a ditch. We’ve been here for three hours near Portlaoise. Any numbers?

Beginner tips please!

I used to enjoy Lino printing in school, but it’s been about nine years! I’m going to buy a starter kit tomorrow, so any advice would be nice!

How do I preserve this gecko?

I tried to save this little guy, but I think he was already dead before I found him/dying. After hours of repositioning him, leaving him in different temperatures, and following advice I gave up on him. I brought him home and now I’d like to find a way to keep him. He’s getting a bit dry and crispy, so I was thinking of maybe using lacker and putting him in a jar with sand? Any advice is welcome!

Btw he’s only about an inch long!

Can you legally refuse holiday pay?

My fella just asked for holiday pay and was told that they don’t do that. He’s on a part time contract.
I used to run a business and had to pay part time staff 8% of their hours as holiday pay. Have the laws changed?

EDIT
I posted after a quick conversation with him this morning so I have more info:
He just asked what holiday pay he has earned so far, and his manager told him he gets his holiday pay added to his wages each week.
I calculated it and his hourly pay minus 8% was less than minimum wage.
He’s asking because he does have a holiday coming up, but also he’s been offered a job (hasn’t got a contract yet so hasn’t handed in a notice) and wanted to have an idea of how many holiday hours he’ll be owed when he leaves.
He’s in work atm but he’ll look at his contract and payslips and see if this adds up.
This was only a part time thing to tide him over while we moved house so he hasn’t been there too long, but it just seems sus to me.

Scared of strangers

We had someone over to clean my car and poor Bainne was so terrified he hung himself off the side of the sofa. Which is actually an improvement!

Do I chat to the neighbours about their dog coming onto my property?

Moved a few months ago and we intend on getting a gate so our dog can play in the front garden (we don’t have a back garden), but it’ll obviously cost a bit and we’ll have to do landscaping on the hedges etc so we’re saving

The neighbour a few doors up (never met them but them and the kids are out all the time) have a dog that is always always off leash and just wanders. At first it was nice to see him playing, but he keeps coming into our garden. Occasionally he’s pooed, many times he has peed, and most recently he’s gone sniffing for my dog’s buried bone. The bone is one of those healthy ones that cost a few euro, but lasts him days, and he has buried it in the shrubs at our door.
The dog also came into the house a few times when we were setting up to move (we were painting so all the doors were open). I keep my dog on a long lead and closely supervised when I leave the door open, but I don’t want the other dog coming back in either.

Do I chat to the neighbours? I genuinely don’t know what to say, as it’s clear that this dog has been roaming around for potentially years, and is left unattended out the front (or the kids are supposed to keep an eye on him), so I don’t think they’d change ways for the newbie neighbour.

TLDR
Neighbour’s dog is going toilet in my garden and after my dog’s things. Do I speak to the neighbour or is there an alternative idea?

Healed tattoos itching in the sun?

I’ve had this little flower tattoo for about three years now. My artist is happy with how it’s healed, but there’s still a bit of raised skin on the ink (not sure if you can tell in photos but it’s kinda shiny?). The bottom is fine, it’s just the top.
Anyway, there’s a heatwave at the moment and I’ve kept my tattoos nice and covered in SPF, and they’re all healed. This one is just super itchy on the raised skin. I have a fairly big, more recent piece that’s absolutely fine.
Any advice?

Advice on helping the resident dog say goodbye

Our foster pup is going to his forever home today, which is so exciting for him!
Him and our dog have become best friends. They play for hours and sleep together. I’ve never seen him happier - he’s a rescue dog, so he struggles a lot.

Any tips on making sure he’s not too lonely? Tempted to get a second dog just for him to be friends with :(

Meet Mikey! Sleeping question!

I picked up Mikey today to foster until he gets adopted (likely not too long as the rest of the litter has been picked up!).
I have a question about sleeping arrangements: do I keep him in the small room I have set up for him (think crate training rules) or set up a bed in our room and hope he stays in it?
I want to respect the space and boundaries of our resident dog (they’re getting on great but I understand he’ll need space from the puppy energy) so I don’t want to leave him running around the main room. But I also don’t want to make him afraid of that room! I’ve included photos of him snacking and napping in there, but I don’t want him to be upset if he’s left alone for too long!

EDIT
Sorry, I don’t think I made it clear that I don’t have a crate! They didn’t give me one, and they gave me all the equipment they want me to use. The little room is instead of a crate, to give him the some structure. I’m going to try to set him up in the room tonight and sleep on the sofa so I can hear him if he gets too distressed, but I’m going to spend some time making that room feel like his space.

Birthday iced coffee!

Oat latte with vanilla cold foam and sprinkles! I did something similar yesterday to celebrate my grandad’s heavenly birthday, but I did the cold foam to hold the sprinkles today! ✨

Pre foster questions

I’m supposed to get a call to collect my second ever foster tomorrow! The first honestly wasn’t a good match (she should have been the only dog, and we have a whippet/greyhound already so it wasn’t great), and I’m determined to make this time better!
I’ve done research on how to prepare, but I’m wondering what questions I should ask the shelter. This is a better established shelter, so I feel that they’ll do a better handover, but what are the main things you like to ask about a pup before you take them home?

Also, my first foster got adopted the day I brought her home! So success story in the end!

Yogurt boy

I was uploading this post in another room when I heard stealthy licking starting again (no guilty boy was harmed in the investigation)
