Lifelong Dream: Learning the Universe from the Big Bang to Today. Is My Roadmap Accurate?
Hi everyone,
This has been a lifelong dream of mine and I've finally decided to start.
I want to learn the entire history of the universe from the Big Bang all the way to modern human civilization. Not just memorizing facts, but actually understanding how everything happened and why.
Instead of following a single textbook, I'm trying to build my own roadmap by researching each topic deeply. My first phase is the history of space, covering everything from the birth of the universe to the formation of Earth.
This is the timeline I've put together so far:
Chapter 1: The Beginning
- What is the universe?
- What (if anything) existed before the Big Bang? (What science says vs. what it doesn't.)
- Big Bang
- Cosmic inflation
- Expansion of space
- Matter vs. antimatter
- The four fundamental forces
Chapter 2: The First Universe
- Quarks
- Protons and neutrons
- First atoms
- Why hydrogen and helium formed first
- The Cosmic Dark Ages
- Cosmic Microwave Background
- How scientists know these things
Chapter 3: Birth of Stars
- Gravity
- Nebulae
- Star formation
- Nuclear fusion
- Different types of stars
- Star clusters
Chapter 4: Life Cycle of Stars
- Main sequence stars
- Red giants
- White dwarfs
- Supernovae
- Neutron stars
- Black holes
- Pulsars
Chapter 5: Galaxies
- What is a galaxy?
- Spiral galaxies
- Elliptical galaxies
- Irregular galaxies
- The Milky Way
- Galaxy collisions
Chapter 6: The Solar System
- Solar nebula
- Birth of the Sun
- Formation of planets
- Why the inner and outer planets are different
- Asteroids
- Comets
- Meteoroids
- Kuiper Belt
- Oort Cloud
Chapter 7: Earth
- Formation of Earth
- Formation of the Moon
- Early atmosphere
- Oceans
- Plate tectonics
- Magnetic field
I'd love your feedback:
- Does this follow a scientifically accurate timeline?
- Am I missing any major topics?
- Is there anything that should be moved, added or removed?
- If you were starting this journey from scratch, what advice would you give yourself?
- Are there any books, lectures, documentaries or university courses you'd consider essential?
I'm not trying to rush through this. I'm happy to spend years learning it properly. My goal is to build a deep understanding of the history of the universe before moving on to the history of life, humans, civilizations, and the modern world.
I'd really appreciate any guidance. Thanks!

What's the one thing that keeps you going in life?
reddit.comFriend's hairline is disappearing!! Need the best dermatologist in Nagpur.
My friend asked me to post this on his behalf.
He's in his early 20s, and his hairline has been receding for the past few years. Looking at it now it seems like it's progressing quite fast. (Photo attached.)
Can anyone recommend the best dermatologist in Nagpur for male hair loss?
We're looking for someone who actually diagnoses the cause and suggests the right treatment instead of pushing expensive procedures.
If you've personally had a good experience with a dermatologist in Nagpur for hair loss, please share the doctor's name, your experience, and the consultation fee if you remember.
Thanks a lot!
I found this two 500rs notes. Can I change it with new ones? If yes, what’s the procedure??

BOI keeps deducting ₹46 as "TRF" every 1–2 months. What is it?
I have a Bank of India savings account. I occasionally get an SMS saying:
"BOI - Rs 46.00 Debited (TRF)"
This deduction happens roughly once every month or two. I don't remember making a transaction for this amount.
Does anyone know what "TRF" means in this context? Is it a bank charge, SMS fee or something else?
Has anyone with a BOI account seen similar deductions?

What's the best thriller novel you've ever read?
Not just a good thriller, but the one that genuinely kept you awake at night, made you miss your stop, or left you staring at the wall after the last page.
If you had to pick only one thriller you've read in your life, which would it be and why?
No spoilers, please!
Do I need Xcode Command Line Tools before installing Homebrew, or can I install Homebrew directly?

HELP : Why is Bitwarden so slow lately?
Whenever I click on the login page, it keeps loading forever sometimes. Yesterday I bought a MacBook Air and I’m facing the exact same issue there too, so now I’m confused whether it’s a Bitwarden issue or something on my side.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
I wanted to ask developers here: which browser do you think is best to use long-term on macOS?
I recently switched from Windows to a MacBook.
I know browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Brave, Safari, Arc, etc. all have different strengths but I want to choose one that will also make sense later when I get deeper into programming/web development. I don’t want to get too comfortable with one browser now and then feel the need to switch later.
Things I care about:
- good performance on Macbook
- battery efficiency
- developer tools
- extensions
- privacy ( this matters to me a lot)
- compatibility for future web development work
Which browser do you personally use as a developer on Mac and why?
I just switched from Windows to a MacBook Air and honestly… I have no idea what I’m doing
Everything feels different closing apps, installing stuff, shortcuts, settings, even the file system. On Windows I knew how to do everything without thinking but on macOS I feel like my brain got factory reset.
What are some beginner tips, must-know settings, apps, shortcuts or things you wish you knew when you first moved to Mac?
Please help a confused Windows refugee....
