Which scar more realistic?

It doesn't need to be full realism, it just needs to make sense. I couldn't find any good scar references for this OC so ive just been winging it. As of now I haven't decided what thing caused it (any suggestions?)

And also, which one looks better?

How would you pronounce Navi?

That’s my name, and my parents made it be pronounced as “Nay-Vee” or like Navy blue or the US Navy. But over the course of MANY years, only about 5 people have pronounced it that way when first reading my name. Everybody else says “NAH-vee” which has become incredibly annoying.

I plan on changing it legally to Navy soon, but I just want to hear how you all would pronounce Navi.

Edit: yeah I knew I was cooked…

How would you pronounce Kya?

I would love to give my future daughter the name Kya, but as someone who grew up with a difficult-to-pronounce name myself, I wouldn’t want to give her that pain of constantly correcting people.

I would make it be pronounced like “Kai-yuh” or “Kaia”, how would you pronounce it?

I have a fear of people reading and saying it as “kyuh“

How to make a character less cliche?

Here's a short description of a main character I am working on. It's my first time writing, so I'd appreciate some advice on how to make her not cliche, but also a balance of good and bad traits. Not perfect but not unlikable.

Tell me what you think!

Amber: The leader who just wants to do what's right. Confident, kind, creative, and does her best to remain optimistic.

She has the ability to lift up her groups’ spirits, and give them confidence. But much of her own confidence is a mask, worn to hide her vulnerabilities. Often overextending herself to solve others’ problems, neglecting her own needs.

She constantly has the belief in her mind that she isn’t doing enough, so to try and combat that fear she tries to do most things herself, thinking that it can be perfectly controlled that way and done more efficiently.

If she fails, criticism is internalized deeply, and she will push herself even harder next time and reinforce perfectionism.

Amber also holds the belief that there is no need to open up emotionally to others, because she has always solved every problem by herself. To her, opening up leads to a risk of abandonment, and being seen as vulnerable will never help her achieve her goals.

She needs to learn that she doesn’t have to do everything alone and make everything perfect in order to be worthy. Letting go of control and need for perfection will allow her to finally connect with her group and reach their goals.

Also here is a bit of backstory: At the age of 6 Amber was stuck in a housefire, both of her parents died, and because of that she has major surviors guilt, and now overextends herself to help but still feels like she isnt doing enough (like I said up top), after she lost her parents she was raised by her Grandma, who always put on a happy and capable face to make sure Amber always felt cared for. From a young age Amber was never really exposed to big vulnerabilities, thus causing her to learn to not share her own either. Later in the story, her Grandma dies, but right before she dies she tells Amber to not make the same mistake she did. And of course just those words dont change her entire personality but from there on out she slowly learns to open up more.

I cant say her full motive without giving away the plot which I don't want shared online, but basically she inherits something that was owned by her parents, and now she can finally own it legally, so her motive is to live up to her parents legacy, and not disappoint. This also makes her lean into perfectionism because the place she inherits means so much to her that she doesnt want to mess anything up.

How exactly was it Korra’s fault that she lost her past lives?

Ive watched the show, and from what I saw she was beaten up and in severe pain, unable to get up when Unalaaq destroyed the past lives.

Are haters seriously blaming her for being in too much pain to fight?

I just want clarification because surely that’s not what haters mean when they say it was her fault, am I missing something?

EDIT: Thank you all for the answers I understand a LOT more now 🙏

This might be a rough ride for Korra defenders (me)

I honestly think they will show that Korra actually did something good, like maybe there was a choice between two things and she chose to sacrifice herself and the apocalyptic world was actually the BEST outcome. But even the possibility of her being turned into some sort of villain scares me…

Where can I share a rough feature film idea and receive professional feedback?

Okay, so basically I have been working on a concept for a feature animated film, but I hit a bit of a roadblock with the pacing, there’s two main aspects I want to show, but I fear it would be too long, and if I crammed both in it would downplay both aspects making it feel rushed. I have no mentor or proper connections in the industry yet, this is my first time writing a film, so I really don’t know where to get this feedback. I dont feel safe posting it for everyone to see in case the idea gets stolen, I want to protect it.

Any ideas as to where I can get proper professional advice and feedback?

Where to find resources to learn to write an animated feature?

So I am currently developing an animated feature film, but the stage i’m at isn’t ready for screenwriting, it’s just writing the overall story.

I know there’s resources for how to screenwrite an animated film, but what about just simply writing the story and developing everything before the screenwriting process? I can’t seem to find any good resources on that.

If anyone has some recommendations of anything that might be helpful for a first-time film writer, id love to hear. And I’m happy to give more details of what i’m doing if needed.

What’s it like being a PA?

Are there any Production Assistants here that can tell me what the job is actually like?

Is there anything that most websites and stuff don’t tell you about? Or any tips for starting out?

Im 18F, so relatively young, but i’d like to first start out just on college student film sets if possible.

UPDATE: I’d like to thank everyone for all the advice and tips! You all really helped me out a lot :)
