Elbow Bend

Is there less of a bend in the elbow of your fretting arm with guitar than ukulele? I have cubital tunnel syndrome and the bend in my arm to play uke caused major flare ups and numbness so I had to stop.

I've never played guitar before but it seems like since the instrument is larger you don't have to bend the arm quite as much.

P. sidioides & ‘Lemona’

The actual dark maroon of sidioides is very hard to capture in a photo. Lemona is supposed to be fragrant but isn’t.

Dry River Bed-How To

I want to make this area a dry river bed. Is this something I could myself? I’m thinking of digging a trench from the drainage pipe to the sidewalk and filling with river rock. Then using larger rocks to fill in and plant in between those. Not really sure where to source larger rocks but I’m assuming DIY will be far less expensive than hiring a company.

Vine for Fence

I have a very narrow walkway in between my house and the fence which runs East/West. The plantable strip next to the fence is maybe 14 inches wide and covered in gravel. I’m looking for a vining plant that could grow on the fence for more privacy. Ideally something evergreen that is drought tolerant. Nice flowers would be a bonus.

Don’t Give Up

~3 years ago this Gerrardanthus got badly sun burned. 1/2 of the caudex turned to mush and it dropped all its leaves. I cut out all of the mushy part and let it dry. Fast forward to now and it’s growing just fine. So don’t be too quick to toss plants, there may be a chance for them.

I know they are supposed to look like this but in the back of my mind is a little voice saying maybe, just maybe, they are actually thirsty.

I’ve had this plant several years and still can’t figure out exactly what it needs. Just when I’m about to toss it, it rallies and flowers. Then invariably I bump into it and break all the stems and start over.

How can I better arrange everything so it looks more like a garden and less like a hoarding situation?
