My (39M) daughter turned 3 and she is 100% daddy's girl. Always clinging to me, and yes I get her ready in the morning, drop her off at pre school, pick her up, play with her etc. Wife who likes to bring up a big past mistake and some recent goof up of mine to win arguments has now apparently just met her match. The kid sees me sad and goes full ape on her. It is amazing to see how protective the kid has become of me. What a win. Wife has mild BPD and is emotionally weak. Not a bad person and is recovering slowly. Yes the daughter helps. And yes she has therapy as well.

Long story alert.
Coming from India, at 17 is when I first wanted to buy stocks. Walked into a brokerage as at that time there was no apps and internet was just getting its legs. Graduated during the recession and wanted to buy stocks but then everyone around me scared the shiit out of me that anything other than real estate and gold is basically gambling. 2013 came to Canada with an amazing job and a pay of 78k per year. Paid off student loans on India, parents home loan, gold for siblings, paid for weddings, even cleared some debt of friends. In 2018 accumulated 130k CAD in cash and with the fear of investment, gave that away to parents as well. Now I was doing it out of love and thinking may be they will invest on my 'behalf' and this money will remain mine. Got married in 2021 and when I wanted some money for a house here, guess what, parents go "Asking back gifts to parents is bad manners". They even wanted more money to buy a property for my sister who is married and has a job. That was the last straw. They don't talk to me any more. I had 120k that threw at the house on 2023. 3 years of I would say standard below the means living with one trip a year, got lucky with a job and ended up getting a lump sum when the company got bought out. With 20k in 2023, I'm here with 270k in 2026. Till 2025, i invested in only safe etfs as you can see. But then started buying companies based on industry and yes this post falls into the space bull market flex. Sorry for that but wanted to share some where. Also, knowing profit taking is an art, how long does 250k turn to 500k with sound investing and a decent market? Thanks for reading. Chest feels lighter.
