Random Predictions for the future of Ted Lasso
Just some random thoughts I have for the long term and near future of the show:
Baz will date Lizzie. During the Season 3 finale ("So Long, Farewell") when Paul asks what is left for them to do if Richmond wins, Mae suggests "Making a real connection with someone and starting a family," to which Baz whispers, "Boring". This felt like foreshadowing, and Baz dating a female footballer makes a lot of sense. With him helping raise Lizzie's kids it will help him to grow up and mature from his constant pub attendance with his two mates.
Mae's shares will determine who owns Richmond in the season finale. The Milk sisters sell their shares, but it turns out it isn't enough without Mae's shares. Who inherits them? Maybe Baz, Jeremy, and Paul?
Others have suggested, and I agree, that Roy will become a stay at home dad and raise his child with Keeley working full time. The question then will be who will take Roy's place as manager of the men's team. I think Alice will interview and be offered the job, but will turn it down because she doesn't want to abandon the woman's team. This opens the door for Rebecca's second choice for the men's manager: Nate the Great!
The women's team name will be changed. Something that happened earlier in the season where Phoebe says sees going to the Richmond game and Roy assumes she meant the men's team. He says that it he assumes he is referring to the team that is over 100 years old. It comes off as condescending, but it surfaces a real branding problem for the women's team, it can be confusing for fans. It also is a bit sexist to refer to them as the Lady Greyhounds, that assumes that Greyhounds by default refers to male. In order to create an improved and separate identity, they rebrand as the AFC Richmond Pink Leopards, after the pink leopard statue in Keeley's office Trixiebelle. It's feminine, but powerful and fast animal.
