I have federal student loans, some at high interest rates. The new RAP repayment plan waives any interest your payment doesn’t cover instead of letting it capitalize onto your balance. Does that actually change anything from a fiqh standpoint, since that interest technically never gets paid? Or does it not matter since I still agreed to an interest bearing contract in the first place, and the waiver is just a borrower protection thing, not designed with riba in mind. Curious if anyone has looked into this specifically. Not looking for a fatwa, just trying to understand the different positions before I take it to someone qualified.

Been digging into liberators (tomato, chocolate, strawberry, citrus) after a weird one today. Small brownie, about 5 hours later I get hit with this flat, dulled mood that isn’t my normal baseline. No gas, no bloating, no cramping, so I don’t think it’s fermentation, feels more like a liberator response.

What’s bugging me is when I actually looked into why chocolate/tomato/etc are ranked as “strong” liberators, there’s not much solid behind it. Most lists trace back to patient-reported elimination diet patterns, not measured liberation potency. Found one review saying the mechanism “has not yet been elucidated,” citing basically one old rat study from 1985.

And for me personally, tomatoes are supposedly one of the strongest liberators (double mechanism, direct histamine plus liberator effect), but tomatoes have never once given me an issue, even in decent amounts. Chocolate, usually ranked as weaker or more contested, is what actually seems to be doing something today.

You can introduce uniform policy, planning, leadership. You want people to like you. You want a strong military (which would benefit from a productive citizenry). A strong economy. Less reliance on outside actors. If authoritarianism is the way then why don't you put us towards a Singapore/Asian Tiger path at least?
