Ride safer travel harness- right over weight limit

We are taking a trip next weekend with our 4.5 year old and a friend let us borrow their ride safer travel harness - Extra Small size. Our LO is 42.5 in and 41 lbs. Looking at the manual it says weight max is 40 lbs. Unfortunately too late to buy a bigger option now as it won't deliver in time.

Since she is still within the heigh range and only 1 lb over the limit is it still ok to use for a rental?

Do you D or B?

I find myself in B mode most of the time- even in highway. From what I can tell the regen is minimal but I like that one pedal driving.

What do you prefer? D or B?

Avis change card with insurance claim

I rented a car for personal use via Avis and did not realize it was my company issued card they have on file. During my rental a rock chipped the windshield and there is a noticeable crack. I want to update the card to my personal card to not have the hassle with my work accounting department but now with this chip am not sure how to proceed. The AI machine tells me that if I change cards during the rental that it will void any insurance coverage the card offered. I do have collission insurance on my personal car with a $500 deductible but from what I understand it is best to go through credit card. Both my company card and personal card have rental coverage insurance. Any ideas on how i should proceed?

Quote Request - MD to NC

Need a quote for a new car transport from a dealer in Frederick, MD to my home in Raleigh, NC. Catch is that I need pick up to be done on Thursday and delivery next day (or same day depending on pick up time).

Am I being unrealistic with timeline?

I leased a car via a broker and also had then arrange the shipping since the car was in a different state. The lease deal was funded on Thursday and broker advised he was sending to dispatch that day. I asked in Friday evening if the car was picked up and was told no. Waited the weekend and was hoping car would be picked up today but nothing.

Car is in the Baltimore, MD area and I am in the Raleigh, NC area. I really thought by today there would be some movement since its pretty much down the I-95 corridor. I did pay the broker $ 600 for the transport and am assuming he posted this for $500 or so.

Am I being unrealistic in thinking this would have gotten picked up already?

Extend insurance rental when paying out of pocket

Was in a total loss accident where the other drivers insurance, statefarm, paid for the rental. Last day of rental is Tuesday but I need a few more days till me new car is delivered. Any chance Hertz will extend the state farm rate to me for those extra days. I am not asking state farm to pay for them - i will pay them out of pocket - but would rather pay the state farm rate than the regular rate.

Any tips or must knows regarding window tinting?

I am getting a 2026 XC60 T8 Plus this week and want to get the windows and windshield tinted. Any tips or must knows I should be aware of? Google gemini mentioned making sure installer uses a soak pad on dash and also to be careful not to cover the camera for pilot assist. Is this correct and anything else I should know?

Why would I choose ChargePoint Home Flex over a Tesla Universal?

If my math is correct the Tesla Charger is less expensive by $100:

Tesla Universal Wall Connector - $ 600

ChargePoint HomeFlex - $ 499
NACS Connector Conversion - $199

I currently have a XC60 T8 which uses the J1772 connector but will probably get another EV that will be NACS.

Trying to see what the advantage is getting a ChargePoint over a Tesla.

Thoughts on how your work life will be affected if the Sunshine Protection Act becomes law?

The house today overwhelmingly passed the Sunshine Protection Act which would lock in daylight savings time. No idea if Senate will pass but if it does how do you think this will affect your workload?

Should I have taken the prepaid maintenance option?

I just leased an XC60 T8 for 36 months / 15k miles per year. During the discussion with finance they mentioned that volvo only covers 2 maintenance and we are on hook for the 30k and, possibly the 40k. They offered a package of $1800 for those 2 additional maintenance. I declined but am wondering if that was the right move. Anyone already paid these and how much did it come out to?

How long does State Farm take to give a valuation? And when does rental end?

My car was declared totaled last Wednesday. I am still in the State Farm rental but I thought by now they would have given the valuation. For context State Farm is the other drivers insurance and the car is a 2026 Volvo.

Also, when is the rental supposed to end? Tried to get a hold of the total loss claim agent but was in queue for an hour before I decided to leave a message. Car is scheduled to be taken to salvage tomorrow per the collission shop.

Are you using a dongle for wireless android auto?

Am getting a 2026 xc60 and am wondering which dongle to get so I can have wireless android auto. I hear mixed feelings in the Ottocast but do like that it displays the map on the driver console. Main reason I wanted android auto is for Team messages.

Charger suggestions for plug in hybrid but that is also future proof for nacs

Am getting a volvo xc60 plug in which has a J1772 connector. I want to install a home charger to cut the charge time in half but also want a charger that has nacs availability as next car will probably be a full ev.

What would the best option be? It would garage installed and hard wired. Electric company subsidies the install but not charger.

What at home charger are you using?

I am looking at getting an XC60 T8 Plug In and am wondering which at home charger I should get to make it future proof. Goal is to eventually go to a full ev car and want to make sure I don't need to get another charger (ie. is also nacs compatible).

Convince me not to get a 2026 Murano Platinum

Am in search of a replacement for my totaled 2026 XC60. Am trying to get my lease payments a bit lower than what the Volvo was and came across a broker how is advertising a Platinum trim for 36 months / 10k miles at $ 378 per month with $ 2670 due at signing. At first glance it looks like a great deal and as long as I stay within the miles warranty will not expire before I turn in.

My gut feeling though is why is it so cheap? It looks like a beautiful car and on the Platinum trim it looks very luxury. What am I missing? What am I in for? What's the catch?

When does Kia publish their current month incentives?

June incentives ended yesterday and am wondering when Kia publishes the next incentive program. Am hoping that history repeats itself (or gets better) and they still have the $12k incentives on an EV9.
