Who ever is doing Spear Of The Church right now, you're a legend

I was dreading having to do that busted arse fight again, but for the first time ever it actually summoned another player for me.

They just stood there and let me kill them so i could finish the fight and then move on. Absolute legend!

How do you avoid the walls in the Brain Alcove fight?

I've been at this boss for hours and can hitless the first phase no worries. I can get super close in the second phase pretty consistently.

But then out of no where, the walls just chomp down and either kill me, knock me into a hole or set off a chain reaction of getting hit repeatedly, ruining the run.
How the hell are you supposed to avoid those? They seem to just instantly snap into place and i can't figure out if there's a telegraph.

I think i expected something different from this game

Preface by saying i'm still enjoying it and powering through

Getting into the game i was looking forward to a bit of an RPG adventure. Something i could explore and discover. But it really is more of a platformer with soulslike mechanics

I know you have to take the game for what it is. But i can't help but wish the focus was more on combat and exploring the world and way less on platforming

Also the art and atmosphere is beautiful and i can't help but feel more of a story focus would have been a massive hook

I'm sure there are people who absolutely love it as it is, i just feel like there was a few missed opportunities here

Ellie specifically makes me feel so bad for a character in these movies

Obviously no one in these movies really gets off easy, horrible things happen to everyone. And it's not meant to be taken too seriously

But man does she get it rough.
Like the movie goes out of it's way to show she's kind, resourceful, hard drone by with her ex partner and her sister, doing her best to look after the kids and on top of that a creative artist.
She seems like a genuinely likeable and sympathetic character.

And she didn't even make any mistake or do anything to put her in that situation.
She just happened to be unlucky and the first person it came into contact with.
Nothing she could have done to prevent it, nothing she could have done after. Just aware long enough to know you'll probably murder your own children.

I don't know, something about that just makes me feel so much worse for her than any other characters in the movies

I ripped the Youtube version of HTTPBTS songs for offline use, added to a drive folder incase anyone else might want them too

I absolutely love the new tracks as well as the updated mixes of the older three, though i wish there was an official source to download the high quality files.

I don't use streaming and having YouTube open on my phone all the time isn't ideal, so i ripped the Youtube versions of the songs and tagged them.
Thought i'd just chuck them in a drive incase anyone is in the same boat.
(Will remove if this breaks any rules)

Set up a new phone but Whatsapp logged out and erased my Desktop App's history and chats?

So my phone died last night and i set up a new one. While setting up Whatsapp it prompted me to log in like usual. Once it was up and running, everything was new and all my old chats were empty, only having history as far back as when i logged in.

But weirder, it logged me out of my desktop program on my PC. And when i logged back in, it had also deleted everything there too?

EDIT: SOLVED
Since the phone could still be accessed via USB, i could follow this guide here

Has anyone had their sense of smell come back from a Septoplasty?

Currently about 4 weeks post-op.

Pretty much my entire adult and teenage life i've had almost zero sense of smell. Theres a tiny bit there like i can detect something but not at all what it is or what it's like. Though as far as i know i can still taste okay. And i remember having a sense of smell as a child

Has anyone found the surgery helped on that front? i haven't noticed anything yet but i guess it's still healing too

20 days post op, realising i need to learn how to breathe through my nose

I've been healing up pretty well and aside from still rinsing/blowing out tonnes of mucus and clots, i can pretty well breathe through my nose now. Still almost no sense of smell, but i had pretty much zero before the surgery so no loss there.
But thats led to realise, i don't think i actually know how to breathe through my nose.

I mean sure, i can consciously focus on inhaling and what not. But so often i'll realising i've just defaulted to still breathing through my mouth.
More-so, i'm finding if i specifically try to breathe only through my nose, quickly a panic sets in like i'm going to suffocate or something.

Did anyone else have to re-learn how to breathe through their nose too?

Our band recorded a 60 Second Album, so i made a small physical run on 80mm Pocket CDs

I used to have a few of these tiny CDs as a kid, so when our side project Orange Aisle recorded an "album" with a 60 second run time i absolutely wanted to try this.

Turns out tracking down new old stock Pocket CDs with Jewel cases in 2026 is kind of tricky, so i could only make 5 as a test run. Made for a fun little project

We made a 60 Second Album, so i did a test pressing on 80mm Pocket CDs

It started as a joke, but our very unserious side project Orange Aisle recorded an album with a total run time of 60 seconds.

I thought it'd only be appropriate for a physical run to mirror that. What i didn't count on was how tricky it is to still find Pocket CDs with jewel cases. But it was a fun little project

Noticeable input delay feels like learning the game all over again

Note: This is specifically regarding different set ups

So recently i played through Sekiro on my steamdeck and it worked perfectly. Got into the flow, learned timings by reaction and could pretty solidly beat every boss replay in a 2 or 3 goes.

I took the game to my partner's place where we normally run the steam deck through a HDMI hub into a TV with a wireless Xbox controller for gameplay. Theres a bunch of components in there so it's not crazy something is adding in latency i guess.

I'd never noticed on other games, but as soon as i tried to play Sekiro it was such a shock.
Everything was thrown off juuuuust enough to make deflecting and parrying feel like back when you very first try to learn the game. I was getting absolutely destroyed.
Just to check, i pulled out the HDMI and tried it again just on the deck itself and straight away it felt like how i knew the game to feel.

Not at all a deal breaker and i figure you could always just get used to the timings on the different set up. But it surprised me how off it actually felt

I started making up a bunch of cases for all the loose demo discs i have kicking about

I've always loved how these are like little time capsules frozen in whatever state they were in at the time of pressing!

Most of the ones i have came as just the lone disc which i'd store in empty jewel cases, but i always wanted to make up some sort of insert so it was easier to find the ones i want on the shelf.
I tried to keep it pretty accurate and faithful to the original PAL slim case layouts and use the original cover art where available (this site is a godsend).

I took a few liberties with the layout and some disc names just to keep it all uniform.
e.g. Specifically labelling games like Silent Hill and THPS2 as the Demo version so they wouldn't mix up with the full game.
Also all the numbered discs are filed as the Australian variants since i'm pretty sure those are the versions i have, but even with the catalogue that's kind of tricky to make heads or tails of.

On that note if anyone is looking to offload some PAL Demo Discs, hit me up!

It might be a little redundant, but it feels pretty good

I kind of just wanted to see if it'd work, and after a little remapping to get the D-Pad going, it's pretty smooth.

Only bummer is with my current set up i wouldn't be able to charge and play at the same time. But you could still HDMI out for a quick and easy session

Edit: Also just noticed the mice use the exact same sound sample as the Scrabs from Abe's Oddysee

When is it okay to go back to sleeping laying down?

Today i've hit one week out from a Septoplasty and Bilateral Turbinoplasty.
For the most part it seems to be healing well with just a little blood, but still a lot of congestion (and splints for another week).

I've got a pretty comfy recliner chair nest going and have been sleeping mostly upright since but was just wondering when most people went back to laying down to sleep? Or if theres a milestone to be looking out for?

40 hours in on Steamdeck and suddenly the game is playing in Slow Motion?

So i've been playing Sekiro exclusively on my steamdeck (Because apparently getting a controller to work on PC is a game unto itself) and for the entire run of the game it's been going fine. I had the settings lowered a little just to keep the performance smooth

But i'm up to Isshin now and it's like the game is playing in slow motion. Even for the first hour or so i was trying the fight it felt fine, but now just out of nowhere it's incredibly sluggish and floaty.
I'd been playing for a while so i tried swapping to another game just to check if the deck needed a break or something, but they were running fine.

Has anyone had this problem? Or have any ideas how to fix it?
