Accidentally left my turntable spinning two nights in a row

First time was mildly amusing, second time has me wondering if I need to replace the needle?
Bought around 3 years ago but very haphazard/ occasional use.

Help regarding previous post

I made a post yesterday about a participant I work with whose primary carer is 87 years old and has had their 24 hr funding completely cut and their 1:1 funding drastically (draaaastically) reduced. I deleted the post bc it blew up a bit and even though I didn’t put any identifying details I still felt uncomfortable knowing there was a small chance someone here might know the person and put two and two together… privacy and all that… anyways, participant is apparently (understandably) completely devastated and hasn’t stopped crying since they were told. There were some fantastic comments on what the next appropriate steps to take were, both things that I as a support worker could do (besides the usual incident reports) and what the PWDs plan manager, family members and other “higher ups” could do like write a letter to the NDIA. I wish I had screenshot some of the replies but I didn’t think to until I had already clicked delete 😓
What’s terrible about this whole thing is now all the hard work that was put in to give this person a voice and some autonomy over their life has gone down the drain and their primary carer will now be back in full control of their lives, which is a very complicated situation for various reasons I won’t go into online.
If anyone who had taken their time to comment helpful things on what to do now would be kind enough to share again (sorry to ask, but I’m at a loss) I would deeply appreciate it.

Thank you so much 🙏

Well… there you go

Just got a txt msg from head office stating a participant I work with has had their funding cut and will no longer be receiving 24 hr support. This person has a complex intellectual disability, is wheelchair bound, can’t toilet themselves and their primary caregiver is an 87 year old who has been in and out of hospital multiple times the past few months due to their deteriorating health. That was one of the main reasons they got bumped up to 24/7 support. I knew the cuts would fuck people over who look “good” on paper, but I didn’t think they would affect someone as profoundly disabled as this. Absolutely fucking wild.

That time 5 years ago my neighbour died and liquified into the walls of the neighbouring units and the homeowner wouldn’t let us leave 💀

lol I’m getting Facebook memories from a time in my life I’m very glad is over. It was an old qld’er that had been subdivided into 4 units with my brick unit tacked on the front in the 50s. Technically “seperate” dwellings but very much in such close proximity to each other myself and all other tenants were deeply affected by the stench/ trauma. My neighbour and I found the body and the smell lingered for the entirety of the few months it took to get out. MetroCity realty in West End qld and the owner owns fuckloads of buildings in the area. Can’t remember her name but she was Greek and had inherited everything from her father. Literally told us we were “money grubbing millennials trying to make a quick buck on a tragic situation” when we tried to get reduced rent and leave. I still remember the smell.

Editing to add: homeowner waived all fees once I started posting on all the local fb pages about the situation, got the abc news involved and the local MP. I was the last person of the original tenants to leave as I was stuck trying to find elsewhere to live so I would also sit on my porch and tell every single person who came for a house inspection (to rent out the unit that was apparently the “least affected” once the og tenants left) to ask the REA about the rotten cheese smell. Apparently telling potential tenants there’s dead guy juice all over the property is only legally necessary if they ask.

I wish meta wasn’t so fucking LAME when it came to nudity in art 😤 but hey, I’m surprised they lasted this long (a year) before being deleted. I suspect they’re implementing some kind of AI detection tool for nudity bc I’m having random posts from YEARS ago being deleted. Honestly there’s so much random sneaky half hidden nudity on my page from the 13 years I’ve had my account it’ll probably end up in a permanent ban 🥲 if that happens I’m definitely not going back.

A few friends of mine and I have been doing working bee trades for our respective gardens as we all suffer from overwhelm with our own yardwork but love getting amongst our friends… it’s been a treat!!! But I gotta say it was painful looking at the amount of HUGE yuccas at my mates place today (it’s a rental so can’t cut them down sadly). Not pictured are about 5 more all along the front of the house that are WAY too close… I’m surprised there’s not already structural damage with how big and wide the trunks were.

Knew sponsored reccs were coming but it doesn’t mean I have to like it 🙂‍↔️

I’ve travelled up and down the east coast a bunch but I’ve never gone further west than Tamworth. I have been itching to go on a roadie for a few months now, but I’m not sure where to start. I’ve already got basic camping gear (rooftop tent, gas stove, marquee etc) from years of working/ attending festivals/ doofs, I drive a 2008 Subaru forester which I would get looked over before I left, and my housemate is coming with me (she doesn’t have a license though 😮‍💨… luckily I enjoy driving). I used to be really fascinated by Coober Pedy but that’s way too far. I’ve thought maybe go south west down to Adelaide? I’m open to going north west too. Basically I just want to gtfo out of Lismore for a few weeks, stop in little quirky towns, suss the rural opshops (always sooooo much better in tiny towns!) and spend some time camping/ checking out some nice parks. If anyone has any recommendations/ tips/ warnings that’d be ace! Planning on going either end of winter or early spring, but open to any time really if it means prettier landscapes to look at.

Thanks so much 🙏
