DO NOT SUPPORT GrubHub. It needs to shut down. The way they operate since new ownership is the most horrendous experience in my 8+ years of gig work.

DO NOT support this app. They changed something where false positive violations are being handed out like candy and there is NO method for disputing the violation, unlike Doordash and Ubereats, which means once you have the violation it's there for 3 months, which is a long time if you're doing a high volume of orders. The only way to avoid violations is just to do very few orders to decrease your chances. It's like they intentionally WANT to reduce volume and drivers. You can email them and they never respond, I emailed them about app glitches and suggestions and never heard back. To cutdown on cost they likely cut down their customer support to one or a couple people, relying on AI in many cases which explains the removal of a violation dispute process.

There is ZERO reason to use GrubHub over Doordash or Ubereats from either a customer, driver or restaurant perspective. I used to favor them years ago when DD and UE had their misgivings but GH made many terrible app updates. When you're driving, the way the app minimizes the order after being offered is the worst, how they have the SOS button right next to it and how it fails to send out status reminders. Again, it's like they WANT the company to fail.

I only got 10% of my offers from GH, the other 90% from DD and UE, now I will uninstall to get 0 from GH and that is a huge relief. This company needs to shutdown. Once they do shutdown then those 10% of orders will just be put through Doordash and Ubereats instead. I realize there are some markets where GH is still primary but those are probably few and will shift over to DD and UE too.

DO NOT support this app, instead of this slow death nonsense, they need to go away NOW. I recommend leaving a 1 star review on the app store for GH Driver and if you're a customer leaving one for the customer app too. The restaurant app is already at 3.5 which tells you everything you need to know.

Here are just a couple playstore reviews:

"Changed the app so that they can give you a violation for not putting up with terrible and low pay orders, no longer allowing you to provide a reason for the decline w/o punishment. Will make me wait 3 hours for a 2 dollar 5 mi. order then punish you for not taking it as if that makes any sense, even on block and trouble-shooting. Was my preferred app for delivery, now slowly becoming so bad im considering quitting the job I love over it. Fix your garbage, before you cant find workers."

"bruh violations for not accepting every order regardless if its only $2.50 violations for picking up another driver's order after they unassigned it making it already late.... this is turning into Uber eats by the day"

I also think they have dropped the ball on attracting new customers. They acquired GH approximately 2yrs ago and relied on their relationship with Amazon which was never promoted properly. New customers coming into their market will remember Door Dash before GH. I don’t know how their relationship is with merchants, but I do know they have lost many in my area and based on how they treat their drivers I would bet it isn’t good. They haven’t done one thing for drivers other than chopping pay and adding more things like 2 digit codes and more pictures and crazy violations and rating stats. Add all that to them farming out shop orders to instacart shows they care only about themselves. I have seen very little advertising until recently mostly on Facebook and You Tube. I think they are trying to set this up to dump. It would be awesome if someone who wants to grow GH purchased them. I have done 10k GH deliveries and it is getting harder and harder."

Snoozeband MAX w/ Silk Eye attachment vs. Snoozeband SILK for less heat and phone-free sounds?

Hi,

I've used a headphone sleep mask and I was really happy with it besides that it would get very hot, I would wake up in the morning with it off to the side, apparently taking it off while asleep without even knowing. This defeats the purpose of using a headphone sleepmask. I have tinnitus and need the sound to distract my brain and go to sleep, the problem is I wake up sometimes during the night and need to go back to sleep (I've had this issue since pre-tinnitus due to bathroom needs or nightmares, etc.) so I need to have the sounds all the time (albeit at a lower volume when falling asleep the 2nd time), not just to fall asleep initially.

In terms of comfort/cooling is there a major difference between the MAX w/ Silk eye attachment vs. the Silk? I know one is just an attachment to the front of it and with the latter the whole mask is silk but will I notice a difference? Is there enough cooling from just the eye attachment alone? When I say "cooling" I know the silk doesn't cool you down but I just mean it stays cooler in comparison to the fabrics most of these headphone sleep mask tend to have.

Both models on the website say they have "Premium sleep sounds" for offline listening compared to the older Snoozeband Deluxe which has just "Standard sleep sounds" but what does this mean? Premium vs. Standard? There are a few youtube reviews of the Deluxe since it's been out longer but nothing of the MAX w/ Silk attachment or the Silk versions since they're newer I guess.

These points are brought up in the Snoozeband Deluxe youtube review (not my video, just one I found), I don't know if these points have been improved upon in the Silk and MAX versions if someone can testify to that:

  • remembers which built-in sleep sound track you were last listening to but not volume so you have to set that again every night

  • plays for 1 1/2 hrs thens CUTS before restarting, not a seamless loop, he woke him every time when it happened

  • if you turn over in your sleep then you sometimes end up having to adjust the headband

These aren't cheap and the return processes aren't straightforward, especially since it's 15 days only and not on Amazon so I'd really like to get my choice right the first time. What're peoples impressions of Snoozeband overall? In comparison to other brands that are available on Amazon. I was initially looking at Sleepphones until I realized it's a headband and doesn't cover your eyes which may be what some people are looking for but I need something that covers my eyes too. Thank you in advance.

Tapo C125, setup automated Privacy Shutter on/off based on being home/away but can't tell if its working

I'm coming from another camera manufacturer that also had an automated privacy shutter on/off based on geofencing. In their app you could very easily tell if you were in "Home" or "Away" mode and you would receive a phone notification when you had switched modes.

I don't see the current status of these modes clearly labeled in the Tapo app (they have been setup) and I'm not receiving notifications (notifications are on in my phone's settings and in the app).

Is it supposed to function this way or what am I missing? I leave my Home geofencing and sometimes see the Privacy Shutter is off (as it should be) but I don't know if that's because I left it off manually from yesterday or if the automated modes are working, because again, I don't receive any notification telling me otherwise.

I've already tried updating firmware and restarting the camera. "Enhanced Location" is on.

How do you mark/label your Bible verses, already Indexed or otherwise?

Perhaps a silly question or I'm overthinking this but the Bible I got is the 1st Study Bible I'm going to read through in-full and actually mark verses. Bibles are unique in that they use very thin pages in order to fit all the books into a single... book, so they can get damaged very easily and marking them can show through the page more easily. This is especially true when built-in commentary is added to the original text requiring pages to be even thinner.

My bible does come with 2 ribbons built-in but those are going to be used more as bookmarks rather than for finding specific verses.

I want to keep the appearance very clean but also be able to undo or adjust anything I mark so that probably rules out pens or highlighters. I went Indexed which I like and it means I don't need Bible-specific chapter labels since I have that covered with the built-in indexes.

I do want to be able to mark verses, both with tabs sticking out the pages (maybe from the top so it doesn't cover the indexes?) then once open to the page another label marking the verse(s) itself.

I tried "book darts" because they're low profile, but even with how thin they are, they're too heavy for thin bible pages when you stick them anywhere besides the middle edge of the page. When you go to flip the page with a "book dart" on it flips/collapses the page. Plus you can't write on them.

I suppose translucent page markers or sticky labels will do, one sticking a couple mm out of the page to locate the page then another marking on the verse itself. Are there specific ones I need to look for that won't leave residue or rip the page if I later want to remove them?

Maybe I should get Bible-specific chapter labels, then I don't have to be concerned with a verse label sticking out too far.

What system do you use?

Thanks in advance.

NIV vs. NLT and gender neutral language

I want to preface that I'm not taking a stance on the issue, please keep this respectful to everyone. I just want to clear misconception and further understand the translations so people can pick the Bible best for their needs.

I'll be comparing the two common translations, NIV and NLT, with the NRSV which is known for being the most aggressive in using gender neutral language.

From what I'm learning, people are confusing the 2011 NIV with the older controversial GNIV. The NIV are gender neutral only in the sense it replaces already plural words like "mankind" to "people" and "brothers" to "brothers and sisters". It doesn't reassign gender or gender neutralize specific people (like Paul) or replace singular with plural.

The truly gender neutral translation, in the way most people are thinking of, is the NRSV/NRSVue. It refers to singular pronouns in plural form.

On a scale, the NLT seems to be between the NIV and NSRVue whereas the perception seems to be NIV is between the NLT and NSRVue. The NLT avoids the use of using either singular or plural altogether in many instances, which seems to be a cop-out and is a somewhat deceptive approach, in my opinion.

Examples

Psalm 34:20 (Messianic/Prophetic context, referring to Jesus)

NRSV: “He keeps all their bones; not one of them will be broken.”

NIV: “He protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken.”

NLT: “For the Lord protects the bones of the righteous; not one of them is broken!”

Why NRSV is more aggressive: It pluralizes (“their”) to avoid any masculine singular, even though this verse is often seen as prophetic about the Messiah (Jesus).

Matthew 18:15

NRSV: “If another member of the church sins against you…”

NIV: “If your brother or sister sins against you…”

NLT: “If another believer sins against you…”

Here the NRSV goes further by using the very neutral “member of the church,” while NIV retains “brother or sister” (still referencing the familial term) and NLT uses “believer.”

1 Corinthians 13:11 (Paul referring to himself becoming an adult)

NRSV: “When I was a child, I spoke like a child… when I became an adult, I put an end to childish ways.”

NIV: “When I was a child, I talked like a child… When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.”

NLT: “When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things.”

NRSV removes the masculine “man” entirely. NLT rewrites and avoids use of either.

Returning to the faith. Ordered a NLT Study Bible, 1st Bible I'm going to have in 23 years.

I'm looking forward to returning to the faith after 23 years, the Bible I ordered today is going to arrive at the end of the month. I did a lot of research before deciding on this particular Bible. When I was a kid I had a KJV Bible, very difficult to read on my own but I tried. I'm in awe by the options available to Christians now.

I will admit and ask for forgiveness. A couple weeks ago, as I examined re-entering religion as a whole, I examined all 3 Abrahamic faiths but discovering the things the other two believe in and practice was disturbing. So needless to say I threw those ideas out very quickly.

When I was a teen I fell out of the faith due to influences by friends, environment and family, of all people. However, recent world events and politics have deeply concerned me, especially in the last year, which lead me on this path of finding scripture and Christ again. I prayed for the 1st time in 23 years, not just for my loved ones but for those who wronged me in the past. I don't normally think of those who wronged me, outside of prayer, and definitely not in a way that would benefit anyone, so I found it remarkable that during prayer this idea to forgive them suddenly entered into the prayer. I felt an immediate warmth and love fill my heart in a way that I haven't felt since I was a teen. I have been "happy" in the last decade, at times, but like something was missing, this felt different. I don't expect to always feel this way when I pray or think of God but the fact that I felt it this time, as an adult now, means I'll be chasing it for the rest of my life. I plan to focus on my personal relationship with God and the scripture at first but will likely find a church in time once I've established a foundation again.

I will likely try to figure out exactly which church I got baptized at as a baby, so I can get my baptism records. I know the denomination and city so that should help to narrow it down. It's not something my family kept track of unfortunately. I probably won't attend there since it's further out from where I live now but luckily it's still in driving distance to get records.

The Bible I ordered is the NLT Life Application Study Bible, in large print, just in case anyone is also at this same juncture. I won't have it for a few days but judging from some youtube reviews this thing is going to be MASSIVE in size at 3,264 pages. I was committed to the large print and single column form along with the study features so there's just no way around it. I do think next year I'll check if they release a large print/single column study Bible that still contains helpful notes but is maybe a little trimmed down. From the sample pages I've seen, there's a lot of pages that're 50/50 Bible text and Study text, when I was hoping for more like 70/30. I need some help understanding the text but maybe not that much help. In the meantime, this will definitely exceed my expectations and needs. Plus it can't hurt to own a couple bibles when that time comes.

Planning my Root Planing, Looking for video footage example of Root Planing. Also, could it be endodontic?

I'm having root planing done and have been trying to find actual footage of the procedure on youtube. All I can find are videos titled "tooth scaling & root planing" but then the videos only show tooth scaling.

I did find a 3d animation video here: https://youtu.be/MU0oEm1akY8?si=LauXyOn7a9mATqbJ&t=50

However I would like to see actual footage of the tool underneath the gumline. I may even go as far to show this to my dentist to be sure this is what they're going to be performing instead of just tooth scaling then shooting water under the gumline as I see in some of these videos. Since my concerns are subgingival and not visible, I want to be sure they're doing a targeted, thorough, subgingival "scraping" if you will and really removing the tartar underneath.

I also saw a video mentioning where periodontist actually open up the gum, creating a flap, to see the buildup/disease since they're otherwise going under the gums "blind". How common is this?

If the cause isn't periodontal, or not just periodontal then I'm concerned I could have infected pulp especially since I'm not sure they show on an xray. My previous dentist removed cavities and did fillings but I'm concerned there's always a chance they don't remove everything and the pulp gets infected.

I'm in pain, have been for a few years now and I know it's not TMJ because I've seen a TMJ/jaw doctor.

Thank you in advance.

Costco Phillips 9050 IIC/CIC vs new SoundGear AMP IIC/CIC? Plus seperate tinnitus masking devices.

Hi, I apologize in advance this is going to be a post. I started my hearing aid/masking devices journey 2 years ago. I’ve had mild-to-moderate hearing loss and tinnitus for about 4-5 years now but wasn’t able to look for solutions early on.

In 2025, I did a walk around trial at Costco with both Rexton Reach RIC and CIC. I was floored by the sound quality of both and I decided their wasn't enough difference in sound clarity between the RIC and CIC to rationalize the RIC if I wanted something more discreet. I also didn't care for features like Bluetooth since the HA sound was natural enough that I could still listen to sound from my phone, TV, car speakers with no real discernable difference. The CIC has other benefits, such as less wind noise and more fit compatibility with headsets/glasses/hats/etc. I also found the amplification on it's own to lessen the volume of my tinnitus enough that I didn't need the tinnitus support capability of the RIC, which I would've had to enable myself through a DIY project.

The problem become the irritation and the fit. Rexton Reach CIC has superb sound quality like its non-Costco counterpart Signia/Widex is well known for, so that makes sense. However the Rexton Reach CIC doesn't have a custom acrylic mold, only the "instant fit" silicone rubber domes or sleeves. Being brand new to HA's I just wanted to find something that worked and move on from the subject. Unfortunately after having them for awhile with the larger silicone dome and sleeves I would get irritation. In a follow-up I picked up smaller domes, they helped a little with irritation but I still had some and then I had issues with it coming loose, it never fell completely out to the floor but it came close. I had to constantly push it back in otherwise it would rest partially outside the canal which meant I wasn't getting the full amplification. I actually think this should be discontinued since it's supposedly one of their most returned HA's (the CIC, not the RIC version) but I decided to gamble with it anyway.

Regardless I felt this was a good 1st step in the world of hearing aids and narrowing down what I'm looking for. Even if the RR CIC wasn't what I needed, it was able to get me to take the plunge. So I returned it and have been without HAs for a couple months now which hasn't been great. I restarted the process of looking into what Costco is offering. I know I want custom mold CIC or IIC which meant only Phillips 9050 was the option. However I discovered SoundGear is entering the space and would like opinions on their CIC/IIC along with Phillips 9050 CIC/IIC. I could find plenty of positive reviews of the RIC version as it's been out for 1 (2?) years now but none specifically about the CIC/IIC version. I did try Oticon Intent RIC, the non-Costco counterpart, at a ENT/Audiologist practice before I went to a Costco back in '24. I didn't like the sound from it but that could've been more the fitter who seemed new rather than the device itself. So I'm willing to give Phillips/Oticon another try and SoundGear since Starkey is a highly reputable brand that's supposedly been in the in-ear HA market since the '70s.

Few questions/points to figure out as I restart my Hearing Aid/Costco journey:

  1. Occlusion. From what I've read the custom acrylic mold are more likely than the silicone domes to have this issue. However from what I've read a IIC would supposedly have this problem less so if it goes past the 2nd bend. There's also venting. Anything else I need to consider here?

  2. How suited Costco HA specialist are at doing an impression. Fitting and adjusting RIC is one challenge but the mold is another and the mold seems to have to be perfect. It seems you can send it back to shave off any excess but I'd rather avoid all that (though I may not have a choice). Also, it has to be more difficult making a mold for an entire CIC/IIC unit vs. only a small custom receiver attached to a behind-the-ear unit? I'm still set on doing a CIC/IIC but this is just a thought I had.

  3. Does Costco only take physical impressions or digital impressions as well? Digital seems to be more exact but I don't know if Costco will be at that stage yet, the one specialist I talked to late last year (at a different location than the Costco that did my 1st HA) seemed to suggest they'll be physical but I wonder if this varies from store to store (I have 3 Costco's near me) or if the SoundGear will start requiring digital impressions (still seems unlikely for Costco).

  4. While SoundGear is coming from the same company as Starkey, which is very reputable, this is still going to be a very brand new, unproven SKU. It could be less of a "gamble" to go with Phillips because the specialist have spent more time with this product and know it in-depth. Especially since Phillips is supposedly over half of their sales. Although I imagine the CIC/IIC versions of the 9050 are a tiny fraction of those.

  5. Battery. I liked the convenience of Rexton Reach CIC being rechargeable whereas the Phillips 9050 CIC/IIC isn't and the SoundGear CIC/IIC won't be either. I've never dealt with those tiny batteries. How difficult are they to replace and how much do they cost? Does Costco offer a bulk discount on them? I do think there are Pro's of using a battery instead of rechargeable so I'm less concerned with that adjustment and more concerned with cost.

  6. I know IIC will likely have less occlusion than CIC but I don't know if I'll be able to adjust the volume as easily on them. With my Rexton Reach CIC, I found myself going up or down by 1 or 2 volume settings throughout the day as I got more tired or plugged up from allergies, etc. The ability to adjust the volume myself and without much hassle (RR CC had an app) is probably essential.

  7. Modes. I care a lot the quality of music over speakers. In the Rexton Reach "Music" mode it sounded very natural and it had me enjoying music again since I wasn't missing sounds. I ended up just leaving it in this "music" mode all the time out of convenience and it worked well enough for other environments.

  8. Rexton Reach could come out with a custom mold in their next generation, in a few months? Or when is that expected? I haven't heard any rumors about that but it just seems like a logical progression. I could spend all this time going in, making a decision on a Phillips or SoundGear CIC/IIC, making a purchase, taking an impression, waiting for it to come in, going and picking it up, discovering the mold needs to be adjusted, discovering the profile needs to be adjusted, etc. just for a few weeks later for Rexton Reach to come out with their own custom mold and start the process all over again.

That's all my current thoughts and questions regarding hearing aids and appreciate any feedback you may have. Now since I consider tinnitus and hearing loss as the same thing I wanted to mention I've also been looking at masking devices, not built-in with the HA but seperately. I will make a whole other thread for this in time but for now.

During sleep, since thats primarily when the hearing aids are off, I was considering a sleep band like from SleepPhones, Manta, Musicozy or Snoozeband are the popular ones I'm seeing. At night I need something that will block out a little sound and not disturb others. I did try Soundcore/Ozlo sleep buds but I found them either painful, irritating, lacking helpful sounds or lacking accurate volume adjustment and returned those hence why I'm researching the sleepbands. During the day in rare times I don't have my HA's in or have a spike, I'm considering a noise generating speaker like those from SoundOasis which has a few different models. Any thoughts and experiences with any of these would help. I don't have experience with them and I'm still researching them, which is why I ask since HA users with tinnitus have probably gone down that rabbit hole too. I play cricket sounds through my phone but the apps crash eventually and takes up the phone that I need for normal phone use.

Well, this has been a long post but a necessary one. Looking forward to any feedback. Thank you.
