What kind of meals/snacks do you typically pack for an overnight trip?

We’re headed on the auto train from VA to FL soon with our 4 year old. We’ll have a bedroom but don’t plan to go down to the dining car for dinner. So unless it will be delivered to us we plan to just pack a light dinner and snacks.

What do you typically pack?

Does anyone have any good ways to carry pillows and blankets on a train for overnight travel?

I need to carry 3 standard size pillows and blankets onto a train for overnight travel. I’m looking for ideas on how to pack them so they’re not taking up so much room.

If you were going to bring your homeschooled preschooler to an enrichment pod, what would you be looking for?

Are there any must haves you’d want to see in the pod?

I can’t get my almost 4.5 year old to poop on the potty.

My 4.5 year old has been pee trained since he was 3.5 without any accidents, but will not poop on the potty. He used to be chronically constipated and would cry every time he had to poop. Just recently I got that under control and he’s going regularly like once every other day, sometimes once a day. He likes to hide in a corner in a pull up and go. I’ve offered a sticker chart, a prize box, moving his potty to the hiding spot he likes and offering to let him sit in his pull up on the potty. Nothing seems to be working. If I tell him he has to sit on the potty he will just hold it in and not go. (We just went through this last week) My husband keeps calling him a baby and trying to shame him into using the potty. He keeps saying it’s my bad parenting but I feel so lost! I don’t know what else to do!

He seems to have some sensory things going on as well and struggles to sit long enough to eat a meal at the table. I dont know if they’re all connected.

I need a good recipe for a pasta salad without fresh veggies or herbs

My MIL has stomach issues and is very nervous about the outbreak happening. I offered to make a pasta salad to bring to her bbq but I have no idea of what to put in it. I’m thinking roasted red peppers and burrata? Maybe olives? Help!!

Are we team rain jacket or poncho for the inevitable mid day downpour?

I grew up going to WDW every August and I swore when I was an adult I’d take my hard earned big girl money and never go back to Disney during the summer again. But here we are with a preschooler who NEEDS to go to “Mickey’s Halloween Party”. Apparently he doesn’t love our November trips. The weather is just too perfect for him.

Anyways! I need to figure out if I should get us all lightweight packable rain jackets or ponchos or both!

I’m looking to rent a space for a preschool co op. Does anyone have any ideas on where to look?

I’m starting a small preschool co op. I want it to be a place where children are free to be while also growing socially and emotionally. And of course academics will be taught. We’ll play, learn, spend lots of time outdoors in nature, maybe take a field trip. I just need to find a small space for maybe 2 days a week. I’d love to have a space where we can spend lots of time outdoors and still have some indoor time when the weather isn’t great. Does anyone know of anywhere like that?

In your opinion what are the most fun restaurants in WDW?

I’ve done a lot of restaurants in WDW and I would say Hoop De Doo, Tusker House and Sci Fi.

Has anyone here taken their preschooler to an allergist for seasonal allergies?

My 4 year old has been on and off allergies since the end of May. Some nights he’s super stuffed up and mouth breathing and is waking up in the morning sneezing and gagging on mucus. He’ll be better for a little while and then it starts again. He’s not sick, it’s definitely allergies. I’m starting him on an allergy medicine, but I’m trying to decide if I should take him to be looked at by an allergist to figure out what exactly is going on. He’s never had allergies up until this point.

If you’re in your 30’s and a mom what are you wearing to the parks in the summer?

Typically we go in the cooler months and I get to wear all of my favorite outfits. But this time we’re going in September and I know it’s going to still be quite hot. I picked up a few athletic wear skorts/dresses but that’s not really my vibe. I love flowy/twirly dresses and things like that.

ETA: I’m a mom of a little one (preschool age). So I need to be able to lift, carry and keep up with him in it 😂

What is going on with my brand new/newly filled intex pool?

We filled our brand new pool yesterday. It looked green. We shocked it and let the filter run all night. Now it’s still green, we have this spots at the bottom and the chlorine levels are reading high. What could be going on?

My 4 year old is going through this weird phase of constantly saying he’s not hungry even when he is. What is going on?

My son is 4, almost 4.5 and he’s going through this phase of constantly saying “I’m not hungry during every meal and snack time. I’ve started saying I’ll just leave your food here for when you are and walk away and 9 out of 10 times he’s eaten the entire meal before I get back. But why is he saying he’s not hungry then? I’m so confused. It almost feels like a control thing but why out of nowhere?!

I bought a parking pass for this Sunday’s game. How early should I get there?

I know the parking has been terrible lately so I bought a parking pass through the Mets website for general parking. I just got an email saying there’s going to be a World Cup watch party at another stadium close by. How early should I get to citi field to not hit too much traffic? The game is at 1:40.

I need advice on how to go about starting to fast. I’d like to lose 10-15 pounds so I cans start feeling healthy again

I’m going to start fasting for the first time. I’ve never fasted but I don’t typically eat breakfast. But I do eat before bed or else I have trouble sleeping. I’ve never had trouble losing and keeping weight off until I had a baby. Now I’m almost 15 pounds heavier than I was and I feel terrible. My body feels tired and weak and I feel irritable and have terrible sugar cravings. My goal is to lose the weight through fasting to reset my body. I don’t want to over eat and I want to stop craving things that make my body feel bad. I’m 35F, 5’4 and weigh 145.

Can I realistically lose 10-15 pounds by September with fasting and light exercise? Any tips for starting are really appreciated

I’d like to lose somewhere between 10-15 pounds before September. I’m 35F, I’m 5’4 and I weigh 145 pounds. I’ve never been this heavy in my life and I feel it. I don’t feel lien myself at all. My body feels tired and not as strong and I just don’t feel healthy.

I used to fast before I had a baby but struggle now. It was just part of my life. I also used to be way more active but I just don’t have the time anymore. I’m tired of feeling this way. I want to get healthy and feel better before our vacation in September.
