What is wrong with me?

I haven’t been to the toilet properly in over a week. I’d say about 8 days. Within this time frame I have been a few times for a very small movement.

Why do I feel fine? I don’t have any cramping, just bloated and feel heavy. But nothing else? Should I be worrying?

Stuck with Hen do itinerary

I am planning a UK hen do for my friend next year, she wants to do it in a city which is around an hour away. I know her very well and think cocktail making, bottomless brunch, or a nice dinner out etc would be perfect.

The problem I am having is her inspo/pinterest board is decor heavy. Signs, canvases, games, which I am all over. However, she wants to give people the option to head home on the train to keep the costs down. So a big apartment for the 15 of us wouldn’t be worth it as most will go home.

Is it feasible to host a small pre drink event at my house beforehand with all the decor and games etc at around lunch time and then hire a minibus to take us to Liverpool for the rest of the afternoon/evening, or is this 1 hr journey too much of a big break in-between? Will people be tired, or bored by the time we arrive?

Also I’ve never been to a hen do before so wondering if it would be weird to be drinking and eating cake at 12-2pm before we set off?

What’s it like travelling with one older child

What is it like for parents travelling with a child of high school age. Is it fun? Do they enjoy it? Or are they bored?

Anyone’s symptoms get worse on their period?

I managed to get to around 80% pain free; then my period came and all hells broke loose. A constant burning in my vagina entrance. Anyone else have a flare up on their period? Is there anything that helps? 🙏🙏

Can anyone else relate to my symptoms?

My pain is mainly around my urethra, and around 1 inch into the vagina canal. It’s very sporadic, I can go days without much pain and then all of the sudden it’s an intense burning sensation. I get stabbing pains in my clit and on my pubic bone area. Sometimes my pubes feel irritated too, like they are ‘trapped’ and ‘pulling.’ After masturbation, there is an ache and swelling. I can get a finger inside without much pain, but on the way out - it’s agony?? I’ve had PT therapy and she has given me some things to try but ultimately said my pelvic floor is not chronically tight but cannot relax fully.

I just want to know if anyone else has all of these symptoms?

Am I going to regret this later?

I left school at 16 and pursued a career sailing all over the world. I got my degree, left school at 20 and headed straight into full time job at sea. I work away for months at a time, I miss out on a lot of family time, holidays with friends, and general socialising. I’m now 25 and I managed to mortgage a small house that I only could’ve afforded due to doing these long stints working away. I also manage a couple of big trips a year ticking off my bucket list without it ruining my savings. I partied a lot in college so I don’t care about doing that, but I still have this feeling that I’m missing out on ‘life’ and I feel lost because I work away so much and genuinely don’t know if I’m doing the right thing.

Is anyone else in the same boat? Does anyone have any advice? Thank you for reading

Does this sound like hypertonic pelvic floor or another issue?

I’ve been dealing with stinging and rawness around my vulva particularly around my vagina entrance for months. I’ve had everything tested - all clear. It gets worse when sitting, weightlifting, and after sex it is so painful. It feels swollen and burns badly for hours after, sometimes even the next day. When it’s really bad, it feels like a lump is about to burst. Throbbing and pressure. I know for a fact when the area around my entrance is touched, it sets alight. Also dealing with frequent urination, and constipation, not sure if these are related. I have researched this extensively and from what I gather it sounds like vulvodynia which seems like a blanket term.

I’ve seen so many gynaecologists that say everything looks normal.

I am doubtful it’s just a hypertonic pelvic floor since the my main symptom is stinging, rawness, and burning. However I notice in sex that my vaginal entrance is particularly tight and the vagina canal feels normal. Kind of feels like a very small rubber band is being stretched to its limits. It does improve when walking / standing.

Has anyone else had these symptoms which turned out to be pelvic floor issues? Or was there something else going on?

A hot water bottle held on the area after intercourse works a dream

Just thought I’d share the only thing that helps me during a bad flare up.

EDIT: sorry guys, ignore this advice, apparently heat directly on the vulva can make things worse 😢

So many parents that say they wouldn’t have kids today.

I am in my mid twenties child free but on the fence about one child in the future. As part of my decision making I thought the best way to seek more of an insight is to ask parents around me what they think of it all. The vast majority say ‘I wouldn’t bring kids into the world today’ most of there reasoning is how society is, the economy, fears for the future etc.

I agree with all of their reasoning however is it not too easy for them to say that considering they have already got a family, and have already lived a lot of their lives and they don’t actually have to face that decision because they’ve already gone ahead and done it?

EDIT: I’ve been reading all of the responses to my partner and it is genuinely refreshing & fascinating to read such meaningful and powerful responses. Thank you all for sharing!!

Is it normal for a gynaecologist to put their finger inside & out of me repeatedly

I had a vaginal exam today, I felt comfortable for the most part until my female gynaecologist started to literally finger me in and out repeatedly for about four motions until I told her to stop. It took my brain a minute to comprehend what was going on as there was no explanation before hand.

I felt sick to my stomach and a knowing something wasn’t right, she maintained eye contact the whole time with little expression. It was strange. I have had many examinations in the last few months due to unexplained pain down below. So I am used to these examinations but this one in particular has left me feeling affected in a weird way.

Has anyone else experienced this and is this normal?

Has anyone else had an endometriosis cyst grow inside the labia/under urethra?

I am in intense pain regarding a ‘cyst’ that sits just below my urethra. However it looks nothing like standard cysts that grow on the body, it is covered in thick dense tissue/scarring and becomes very red, swollen and inflamed during my period which points to something hormone related.

Just wondered if anyone else has had this?

Any advice / I am loosing my mind

My vulva/vagina is raw, stinging and burning. All started with the area around my urethra swelling up 3 months ago. Eventually calmed down but now my vulva is so sore and is so painful in sex. I also believe that my discharge is very acidic, very sticky and white with a slight tinge of yellow and causing the area to sting. I have been tested for all common infections including STDs & ureaplasma. Everything seems normal. I have been tested for thrush twice but both negative however thrush cream was the only thing that helped my symptoms however it never fully went.

I am doing all of the usual cotton knickers, no soaps, unscented toilet paper etc.

Struggling to find any GP in the UK that actually cares. I have been misdiagnosed on three occasions and even once was diagnosed with a bartholien cyst which actually turned out to be a very swollen urethra\hymen area. Waiting times to see a gynocologist I was told is months or even years by my GP.

I appreciate any support/advice very much

Should I step down as maid of honor?

A close friend told me I was her MOH, at first I was unsure wether to decline as I know she has a tendency to ask too much of me and I already live a chaotic life so I called her and aired my concerns. I live away and work a lot. She reassured me that she wants to keep everything really chill and would only expect me to plan the hen do and to be there for her on the day, so obviously I said ‘yes okay then, I’d love to be’

Now all of the sudden, she is expecting me to source suppliers like searching for a photographer and emailing them for prices and be the middle man etc. She wants two hendos, one in our hometown & one abroad. She wants me to pay for my dress (which is cool because I’d rather choose my own anyway) and then she sends me a dress that she wants me to buy. She requested I sort out a cake, as in buy one and decorate it for her.

Then I find out that she sent a big bouquet of flowers to her bridesmaids as a proposal with a cute photo frame but I just got a text…

I usually like helping my loved ones. It fills my cup, but when I feel like I’m taken for granted and things are just expected of me because of a label it drains me and ends up feeling like a never ending chore.

If you got to the end of this - thank you for reading and do you have any advice?
