Ideas to create coziness in spring/summer evenings?

I’m missing the cozy evenings in winter and struggling a bit with anxiety from the sun staying out so late these days since I can’t seem to relax til the sun has set.

How do y’all create coziness in the evening when the sun is still out?

I resorted to closing my blinds, lighting candles, turning on string lights, even finally having soup (cream of mushroom 🍄‍🟫) and tea even though it’s warm out.

Anyone else missing winter evenings? ☺️

Hooded Oriole at LA Arboretum

This subreddit inspired me to go to LA arboretum today - saw my first hooded oriole!

I especially love their bright yellow color in contrast with the light grey/green (Mexican Blue Hesper Palm) and the severity of their expression.

I went midday so didn’t expect to see many birds, but also saw bulbuls that another post recently pointed out!

Still holding out for cedar waxwings 🤞

Pardon the reflections on some of these - my folks snapped these from a tour bus

Apparently the farms remove the tulip flowers shortly after blooming to maximize resource flow into the bulbs themselves from the leaves

My folks are in Holland touring tulip season, an absolute dream if you ask me. My dad just texted me this pic, I couldn’t believe it
