In the era of Campus Sports romance adaptations.. I'd like to ask, what is YOUR favourite Campus Sports Romance book, that you'd love to see adapted?

Off campus is finalllyyyyy showing people how awesome rom com books, even light CR college romance books are.

And with the new Boys of Tommen casting!!! Oooffff. Dare I say.. we are officially in the college sports romance era???

👉🏻👉🏻Tell me what is one book or series that you'd love to see get acquired and adapted on TV.

Honestly, I'm kinda suprised we haven't seen any news about {Icebreakers by Hannah Grace} I won't say it's my favourite, but it has almost same number of GR read reviews as The deal but it came out very recently. I'm sure the surge must have been huge, wonder what happened here. Almost all the recently released "peaked" books have been acquired already.

However, my all time favourite college Campus series is {#nerd by Cambria Hebert}.... and OMG is it sooo good! (Technically it has a trailer out which I think Cambria produced herself for fun).. but I wish it was picked up by booktok as well cuz its a really great series.

Oooooh to see Romeo and Rimmel on screen. 😭😭😭💗💗💗 and Braeden and Ivy.

It's one of those hidden gems from 2016-2018 era when great stories came out but most people don't know about them cuz they weren't picked up by Booktok. Thanks to whomever on this sub recommended it to me. 😅💗

Any thought provoking DR book you really liked..? (And why you liked it)

I'd love to read any DR book that made you sit and think for a while... it can be dark in relationship or in the environment.

Previously only books that affected me like this were:

  1. {Hunting adeline by HD carlton} book 2 of cat and mouse duet.

  2. {Stronger series by Jay Marie} even thought it wasn't DR it's a erotic thriller.

  3. {Mindfuck series by S.T Abby}

I guess all these were mostly impactful cuz of the environment they set in. But I loved the message the author was trying to send through these stories.

All of them really made me just sit and think for a while.

If you have any more recs please share.. thank you!!! 💗

❌️I just prefer if it doesn't have: ❌️

  1. Performative smut scenes... I don't mind RH in this case but imo RH books have a lot of performative smutty scenes.

  2. Fmc ending up with the cruel torturer evil mmc who isn't redeemed. Basically, her stockholm syndrome winning.

  3. No HEA.

So pls dont mention books like {Torment by Dylan page} or {under your scars}

Thank you again! 💗

Cop/ Detective Hero × Vigilante revenge seeking Heroine romance books..?

I'd love to read a book with this dynamic. In which Heroine is the alpha, morally askewed but with a code, is executing a plan for the greater good. Hero is initially against her, but as her storyline comes into play, he eventually switches side.

Sort of like Professor and Raquel from Money Heist TV show. But switch in gender. And instead of a heist, I hope the plan is something different, like maybe taking down a corrupt force in higher power.

● Already read Mindfuck Series by ST abby and loved it.

● Tried reading Crimson Moth/Heartless Hunter but it didn't feel like it. Hero was too blind and naive to see her side.

I wish to see some ethical dilemma from the Hero's side, where he's conflicted in deciding between what's right and wrong. Mindfuck series did this part amazingly well.

THANK YOU so much in advance!! 💗

Plastic surgery + Rape Revenge + Female Combat Fighter with a moral code..?

For context, I'm looking for a book like {mindfuck series by st abby} which is the blueprint for these 3 tropes. Plus it has amazing FBI Detective mmc × Female Serial killer romance.

I know for a fact this trope of plastic surgery + rape revenge used to be extremely popular back in 80s-90s, those movies and shows is what gave rise to books like MF series and also Gypsy brothers by lili st. Germain.

But I am having a hard time finding it.

Please recommend any book you can think of which has a : Genius Rape Revenge Plotline by the FMC but not overtly unhinged or psycho. Kinda like a female dexter with a moral code.

Tropes I want:

  1. Genius Strategist FMC devices yearsss long revenge plan on her rapist

  2. Combat Fighter Heroine/FMC

  3. Some FBI investigatory scenes. Would love if the Hero/MMC is the guy trying to catch her.

  4. Bonus: if it has the 80s trope of "plastic surgery" turning her unrecognizable lol.

Thank you! I'm sorry if im being too picky. It's just MF has given me the most ultimate hangover.💗😭🙏🏻

Graphic Cathartic Genius Female Revenge books with slight romance healing sub plot for the tortured heroine..

Hey guys, this is my first horror lit request post, I honestly didn't know I am a horror fan until I read this book. And I can't get enough of this storyline. Please help me find something (anything) similar to it. Thank you!!

Im looking for more books like {mindfuck series by ST abby}

Premise: The fmc (Lana Myers) seeks the most brutal retribution in a balanced way to all the 13 men who violently raped and castrated her and her brother 10 years ago. She's picking them one by one through a very calculated genius plan (with literally 0 margin for error) that is slowly revealed.. and everytime they drop a nugget, you're like. Wow!!

It almost feels unreal to see how far and in detail she planned their torture. And it's extremely gory (even SK would love this lol) but also Balanced..? Like the fmc never lost her moral compass and went full carrie on them. Instead she ONLY tortured each person in the exact way they tortured her and her brother.

Each graphic violent act is done not in anger but to re-establish the balance. For example, >!she'd ensure to cut each of their fingers but only because they used them to brutally hold her down. She chopped on their dicks because they castrated her brother, and fed them their dicks because they forced BJ on her. One person used lube on her, so she remembers to use lube on him to torture lol!<

Despite being obsessed with her family's vengeance and brutal mutilation, Lana was always insistent that she'd rather die and abandon her plan than hurt any innocent as a casualty. This really helped us empathize with her character.

I swear the backstory is so graphic and horrifying that when one of her victims is revealed as mutilated and skinned alive, literally every reader is punching the air like finally!! Yess!! You're clapping at the gore instead of getting horrified.😅💀

This is the level of cathartic feminine horror vengeance story I'm looking for. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Where both the inflicted torture and the retribution is so graphic that you can't help but wish they suffer worse. Lol. 😭😂

Another great part of this story was while Lana trained against the psychotic break (meaning she worked hard to not go insane and kill whomever annoys her for the smallest issue), she still wasn't healing emotionally.

Her end goal was to eventually kill herself after her revenge is fullfilled but her romance sub plot really helps her healing. It's a sub plot but so good. Made the story emotionally more fun.

Bonus: if the story has the lead over-smarting the FBI

Please! Anything is welcomed. Thank you!!

FIGHTER fmc seeks revenge on men who wronged her in the past

Before you recommend, please read this.

Okay, so, I know we have ton of stories (in romance and other genre) where fmc seeks revenge. Feminine rage is a trending storyline (along with older killer fmcs) in the book community, But that's not exactly what I'm looking for.

I AM ON A QUEST!! to find as many female revenge driven books. But more specifically books in which:

👉🏻Fmc seeks her own revenge. Mmc could help but he shouldn't be doing the dirty work for her. I want the FMC to be "ALPHA" and "EXTREMELY COMPETENT".

She learned to fight, became a kick ass badass, fully completes the retribution on her own.

**✅️👉🏻**Examples: like Lana Myers from {mindfuck series by st abby}, Jaden from {Stronger series}, the fmc from {her soul to revenge by Harley laroux}

She has her MMC (obviously, cuz its a romance 😂) but she doesn't NEED him to complete her task. She is a fighter who does all the dirty work on her own.

Some No's❌️ for me:

I don't think Brynne Weaver or J.T. Geissinger books are a good example, even though some of their books have similar plot (on the surface), yet despite advertising them as a "badass heroines", most of their stories always have the mmc helping the fmc in a crucial way.

There's always been a time or two when that "badass" fmc does something Reckless or Stupid in their books, and mmc would have to save her.

Another book of Brynne Weaver {black sheep by brynne weaver} that surprisingly had a badass fmc also made a caricature of the "trope". She made her a seductress psycho who is willing to kill innocents as collateral, and often "seduced" her victims to their demise. Yeah she had a emotional backstory but still it felt like her "femme fetale" features were the only reason she was able to accomplish her goals.

Also No RH and preferably NO Mafia Princesses fmc. Pls. 🙏🏻

How is M.L. burns' {the filthy duet} in terms of feminine rage/revenge plot? (I'm looking for more book like MindF series)

Hey, I'm not sure if this a suitable question to ask but I wasn't sure where else to ask this.

I'm looking for more books like {mindfuck series by st abby} and I found this duet {the filthy duet by m.l. burns} some time ago, but never finished it.

From the premise, it looks good. Feels like MF but in fantasy.

It's also tagged under "uniformed mmc".. is the mmc also a cop in this book?

Overall, how is this book in terms if feminine rage, revenge, competent fmc trope.?

Is it as graphic and brutal as mindfuck series?

Thanks!

Older DR series were less about sex and more about the (dark) plot...

I have been thinking how older DR books, by old I mean anything released before 2023, were more about the plot than just sex + trendy tropes.. right?

For example:

  1. {Gypsy Brothers} and {Mindfuck Series} delivered well on the emotion of revenge and feminine rage. By going in DETAIL about who wronged them and why. They explained more (far more) about the plot than just sex and romance.

But recently released books like {nemesis by seraya} and {Butcher and blackbird} doesn't work cuz even though they have the (almost) same plot, they skip over the background plot so fast, to just sex and romance. Like Why??

  1. {Cat and mouse duet} worked cuz it was 30% romance/sex, 70% vigilante plot. Other newer alternatives like {Watch Me Break} has like 20% "vigilante, kill bad guy" plot, 80% just stalking and sex.

I think previously, authors used to focus on plot more than they do today. Newer books (even from older vet authors) are mostly about trending trope like: "bully romance" "public humiliation" "enemies to lovers" etc.

Instead of delving deeper into why these tropes in the plot happens.

  1. {Deviant king} great bully romance, cuz the reasoning made sense. And it was given in depth. Newer RK books have the mmc bullying fmc for literally no good reason. Like {God of malice}

Bro.. we want the plot back. Not the tropes.

According to you which series had the tropes were deeply (appropriatly) described through the plots??

{Pretty Little Dolls by K Webster} who is the main mmc?

I am about to start this duet. Depending on whether the plot is what I think it is, or completely different... 🥲

I did some research on the plot, and it looks so good. A fmc having escaped a SK, becomes a badass fighter cop, seeks to find him to take her revenge. AND it has romance, with a supportive protective cop mmc??

Fuck yeah!!!

But after more research, I'm confused..

Is the SK Benny her "main" mmc???

Or is the partner cop is her main mmc. I think his name is Dillion?

Can you please spoil this one thing for me.?

Who is her MAIN mmc?? The one she ends up with at the end.

Specific scene: dirty, emotional, reunion sex, with high angst.. with "How could you leave me..?" vibes

So I was reading this book called {nemesis by seraya} and its basically about a fmc having to leave her love (mmc) years ago, to seek her revenge on someone else. She didn't wanna drag him, but mmc spent 7 years searching for her. And when he finds her, he has this animalistic wild punishing sex with her.. he's so insanely in love with her, but he's also mad that she left him.

Similar scene happened in {Until I get you by Claire Contreras} and almost happened twice in {mindfuck series} when Logan finds Lana >!first in the woods!< and then >!In Greece!<

I don't want Dark pyscho Mmc recs.

Just recs in which: Mmc is a super nice, gentlemanly dude, not dark at all, but he's overcome with his angst during their reunion.

Fmc maybe left to protect him, and he's spent so much time pining for her. So when they reunite I want him to lose control.

Are there any more books with a scene like this? I'm sure there are, but I can't remember.

If anything comes to your mind, pls suggest. Thank you!!! 💕 💞

Book with this specific plotline: Female Lead is out to take revenge on *HER* SAers..

Hey, I am looking for a great, cathartic revenge book.

Specifically with this plotline: Female Lead is out to take revenge on men who raped HER in the past.

Nothing else, just rape revenge trope. I know it sounds cliché, and I have read plenty of them:

My all time favourites are {Mindfuck series by S.T. Abby} And {Girl with the dragon tattoo by Steig Larson}

Both series are GOD TEIR.

Emphasis on HER (fmc's) sexual assaulter..Not someone else's or a vigilante serial killer who hunts down other's SAers, as was done in books like: They never learn by Layne Fargo or Sweet Pea by C.J. skuse. They are good but not just what im looking for rn.

If you have anymore recs please let me know.

Thank you!!

Mystery, dark humor, great audiobook recs? (Preferably with a female lead)

Hey, I'm looking for a good full cast audiobook rec in mystery thriller genre. But something with dark humor. Like:

  1. Listen for the Lie

  2. First Lie Wins

  3. Mindfuck series

All great on audiobooks and have slight dark humor from female leads.

I know there are tons of great full cast audiobooks but I'd love if it has a slightly funny sarcastic lead. I don't mind if the plot is intense.

I'm fine with gore and graphic plot details. Infact I'd prefer a dark comedy, especially centered on horrible crime but the lead is still cracking jokes.

Good girl's guide to murder was amazing on audio too.

Finlay donovan and Bella Mackie books are great but they were okayish on audio. And also they weren't that dark.

Please recommend me if anything comes to mind.

Thank you so much! 💓

{Coerce by candice wright} is this the twist?

I am like 20% in this book.

I think the little 5 year old girl in the beginning was, Ivy. Atlas, prolly saw her on the picture and got obsessed with a 5 year old?..

And presently, the flower sending stalker is actually Atlas trying to scare her so she'd depend on him more. (Idk if I'm right though)

BUT is that the whole plot?

Please tell me there is more to this plot than just these storylines.

Please tell me if there is more to the side plot!!

Thank you!!

Looking for FMCs like Lana {mindfuck series} and Jaden {Stronger series}

I feel like I have been posting similar sort of book requests, but nothing seems to fit. So I'm just gonna make it as basic as possible.

I'm looking for books with FMCs like Lana and Jaden, meaning: Morally Grey FMCs with a strong sense of justice. They would gladly inflict brutal killing and torture but they never hurt innocents or try their best not to.

❌️ I tried reading {Black Sheep by brynne weaver} but the second fmc plans on killing the innocent mmc, just cuz he was "hindering" her revenge plan, I dnfed it.

❌️ then I tried {a deadly temptation by holly bloom} which was going fine, until it was revealed fmc became a hired assassin (possibly killing innocents for hire) so she can seek her revenge.

Bruh! I wanna root for a fmc who has not gone over the edge. Or as MF series says again and again, who fought against a psychotic break despite having been through so much.

The only two fmcs I have read like this are Lana and Jaden, both of whom contemplated hard before killing and ensuring they deserved it or not.

Neither ever tried to hurt innocents or cause casualties unless it was absolutely necessary.

I have read Love Ruinous trilogy as well. It fits as well.

Tbh, im looking for a fantasy book with a fmc like Lana Myers {mindfuck series by st abby} but it might be a long shot. So to be specific, I just wish to read a book in which fmc is the leader of the group, headstrong, take Charge, she might not be the "dedicated titled leader" but she's always the one to solve Mysteries first. And she's the one who delegates the work best.

Here are a brief arcs of different fantasy fmcs that I really liked:

Example 1. In {fourth wing}: Violet is pressured into a completely different career path than she planned her whole life. I liked how she assimilated to the environment.

Even the characters who started off hating her, becomes so loyal to her that they would risk their lives for her.

This! The way she treated everyone, I liked that part. She was very Take Charge, leading lady. Knew how to delegate work well in group tasks. (I like violet's personality alot every time she wasn't around xaden)

Example 2. Tisannah {daughter of no worlds}: Tbf, tisannah had much more dire situation. So it made sense why she was so take charge. But I loved that scene when she has enough and snaps on Max. Says something like: "you can make fun of me all you want, but what I'm doing is for thousands of people in my country who are dying"...basically, she calls him out on his first world problems.

Loved how she was willing to do even the most basic mundane tasks to start, to help people in her country. Didn't care what everyone in this polished country thought of her.

Example 3. Nevada from {hidden legacy by illona andrews}: you can see a trend here. I like human fmcs who are the head of their group.

Nevada was the mastermind, the problem solver, the leader of any group. She was take charge, solved mysteries the fastest, and was amazing at delegating work.

💗👉🏻This is what I'd love, a fmc who is (titled or non titled) leader of the group. She's clever, and is the one to delegate tasks first.

It doesn't have to be a queen/ruler kind of fmc book. Just any sort of romance in which fmc is the one to handle situations in the best way.

❎️I'm not looking for anti heroine fmcs like Jude from {cruel prince by holly black}: who are capable but they are always trying to prove something.

Few months ago or maybe a year ago, someone in the sub suggest a anna zaires book to me. I told them I tried her {Twist Me trilogy} but didn't like it cuz Julian was kinda very toxic. He physically beat her, and abducted her even though he didn't love her..

They suggested me a spin off series I think, said it's much different and more green flag than twist me series.

The plot was supposed to be like: the mmc has been stalking the fmc for a while, he falls for her, but he wasn't abusive. (I think he's a Hacker as well)

All this time I thought it was {tormentor mine}, but I'm starting tormentor mine, and it doesn't seem like the story they mentioned.

Is there any anna zaires book in which mmc stalks the fmc for a while? I think he's supposed to be a hacking genius. Not sure.

Please recommend me some of your most loved Darkish/ Lite DR books with Intense plot but not a glaring red flag relationship..

I wish to read a CR book with strong passionate relationship:

👉🏻 But I don't want light romance in which characters break up for most mundane reasons, and

👉🏻 I don't wish to read DR right now either, where characters start committing murder for most mundane reasons.

Just something in between..

I'm cool with morally askewed actions but I hope they are acknowledged for being morally askwed. Like in lights out, how Josh was constantly contemplating if he's going too far with stalking or not. And same with allie.

Looking for stories..

✅️Like:

  1. {Butcher and Blackbird}

  2. {Lights out}

  3. {Until I get you by Claire Contreras}

  4. {Mindfuck series by S.T Abby}

  5. {Binding 13 by Chloe Walah}

❌️Unlike:

Arranged/forced marriages/ Mafia DR books like {Painted scars} or other books with Glaring Red flag obsession {Cat and mouse duet} or Rina kent books.

Basically stories where plot is intense so characters can make morally questionable choices, but not OTT unhinged that you'd call them dark romance.

Thank you!

No RH, HR, Mafia mmc or Bully Romance please.

Looking for a thriller suspense book with a badass fighter fmc/heroine, criminal/outlaw, but easy to root for.

Not like gone girl or the kind worth killing. (Fmc were not great people, used innocents as collateral)

More like:

  1. They never learn by Layne Fargo

  2. Mindfuck series (Lana Myers is basically perfection)

  3. First Lie Wins

  4. Loved, girl with a dragon tattoo.

I liked how fmcs made sure to never hurt innocents, despite being morally grey. Any more recs?

Please and thank you.
