First of all, I have only tried Hermes with deepseek and MiMo (from Chinese models), and I use my Codex sub with GPT 5.4 mini for very deep tasks on Hermes.

I use Codex 5.5 high for my coding on my Mac.

Once said, I'm going to talk about agentic use,

I have always used v4 pro, because I thought: best model so best result, but in reality v4 flash is more instinctive since he is faster

And Hermes being such an incredible harness, pro models are not really useful imo

And v4 flash is cheap as hell ! I have a ton of cron jobs and i spent 1.65$ last week !!

I also tried mimo as i said, but for me less capable in autonomous work !

So yes I can recommand v4 flash for Hermes !

Mimo is like : i know how to do it better than you

I installed a bunch of things to make Codex generate MIDI so I can make music afterward, and I was blown away by the result !
