I finally got Daring and I actually was pleasantly impressed.
I wasn’t expecting much because I’ve not found many reviews about this or heard people talk about it either. I usually associate VS with very sweet/fruity/feminine scents, but this smells way more like an actual perfume to me.

The first thing I noticed was how aromatic and bright it is. There’s a freshness in the opening, but then the woody side starts coming through and it gets warmer and more interesting. I get this slightly earthy/green thing too, but it’s not in a masculine way. It just smells…perfumey. Like properly blended and put together.

It’s also surprisingly mature for VS. Not “mature” in an old-fashioned way, just less girly and more grown-up. It feels like something I could wear during the day, but personally I think I’d reach for it more in the evening. It has enough freshness to not feel heavy, but there’s enough warmth/woodiness underneath to make it feel a little more dressed up.

For me, Daring smells like getting ready for dinner on a quiet evening, you’ve showered, put on a nice outfit, your hair is done, maybe you’re wearing a little jewellery, and you’re heading out somewhere nice but not overly formal. There’s still some brightness and freshness from the day, but the fragrance has enough woody warmth to feel more evening-appropriate.

It’s the kind of scent I imagine wearing when I want to feel polished and feminine without smelling overtly sweet or dressed-up.

And I actually think that’s what makes it stand out among VS fragrances for me. It feels less like “Victoria’s Secret body mist” and more like a proper perfume that happens to be from VS. The longevity is also decent with 6-8 hours on clothes and 4-5 hrs on skin.

Also, the bottle is gorgeous, heavy, with raw curves and has thick glass. The muted grey-green with the pink cap feels much more sophisticated than I expected.

Really glad I bought it and I feel it’s a highly underrated perfume.

I was wondering whether to buy Yara Elixir or Khamrah for winters, as someone who loves creamy fragrances.

First impressions: I just received the DKNY Be Delicious Golden today and this is what I could gather from my first sniff. I get this fresh, sweet apple, but it’s not tart or sharp, and there’s also a soft berry-ish fruitiness behind it. Then the white florals start coming through, making it feel more feminine and pretty, and the drydown gets this really nice creamy sandalwood softness.

Imagine:
It reminds me of a sunny late morning in summer, when everything feels warm and golden but you’re still fresh from a shower, wearing a light dress, hair open, walking in an orchard with lots of greenery and flowers. There’s fresh juicy fruit around, sunlight hitting your skin. Just a very bright, sunny rich yet fresh fragrance, like a golden apple, to sum it up.

Folks, I’ve not been much of a fan of plum products in the past (tried them 5-6 years ago), didn’t like them much at that time.

So is there anything worth trying/getting from their sale? What are you restocking?

Tried the Wavy girl method for the first time, I used Orbis leave in conditioner and scrunched followed by Fix my curls flaxseed holding gel and scrunching.

I’m not sure what went wrong, because I didn’t get the results I’ve seen of others doing it.
