How long can AA batteries power 13" of an LED strip?

How long can AA batteries power 13" of an LED strip?

Hey I am looking to buy a few of these strips and cut to 13" in order to provide trim lighting for a makeup organizer I am 3D printing for my girlfriend

https://orbisify.com/product/ultra-flexible-silicone-led-neon-strip-bendable-dot-free-lighting-for-custom-installations/

I want to power these by battery but the product listing does not include amps so I am unsure how long 2 AA batteries would supply power for.

Two questions for you:

  1. If you had to guess, how long do you think 2 AA batteries could supply this LED light
  2. Any ideas for the best way to connect the batteries to this lighting while being small and unobtrusive. I want to hide the wiring inside the makeup organizer and plan to include a detachable outer plate to access batteries

Any help or input on this would be greatly appreciated!

EDIT: I would greatly prefer the power source to be able to power the LED's for multiple days before a recharge

For guys running production shops: do you have a dedicated area for oil stained stuff to off-gas?

Our shop is low on space and our customers do NOT want to receive packaged furniture that is still off-gassing. Dedicating more space for stuff to off-gas is difficult for many reasons.

How do you guys dry stuff before shipping?

Thinking of switching to water based stains just to avoid this completely

How thick does a plastic corner guard have to be in order to be effective for large boxes?

I am designing the packaging for boxes that are:

  • 50" x 28 x 10
  • 32" x 32 x 17
  • 42" x 32 x 14

Each box weighs around 37lbs. Since these boxes are pretty big, I imagine that UPS will corner walk these in the warehouse or on delivery. I really need to protect the products bc they are very expensive.

I plan on using double walls, 1/2" foam lining the inside and bubble wrapping the product.

Someone in this sub mentioned that I should use V-boards or corner guards on the INTERIOR of the box (between the box and the 1/2" foam)

This sounds like a really good idea but I don't know what size the corner guards should be?

I am asking specifics because I have a 3D printer and can print the corner guards but have absolutely zero idea what size would be effective at protecting the corners without also be unobtrusive and taking up too much space.

Any input would be very much appreciated!

I need 10-30 of this piece printed in PLA. Must be in one piece and my printer isn't near big enough to do this.

The design is very simple.

Can I use rope instead of clamps to clamp together some dowel rod joinery?

I have a slatted style lounge chair and two sections of the chair are attached by 4 screws and 4 dowel rods (2")

It is very hard to use a clamp on the 2 slatted sections because the clamp cant fit between slats to hold the two sections together while the dowel rod wood glue dries.

I was thinking -- would it be possible to use a rope and wrap it tightly around different slats on the different sections in order to clamp the 2 sections together?

It seems like a stupidly simple workaround but Im curious to hear if anyone else has tried this

Dekeratinization and what to do at night?

I bought the CAR-1 and am loving it so far but I am looking for something to help with dekeratinization at night time when sleeping since I cant wear the CAR-1

I was thinking of getting the Manhood Restorer to wear at night but I wasn't sure how safe it was with nocurnal erections. I cant seem to find any firsthand reports.

Does anyone have any recommendations for night time devices to help specifically with dekeratinization?

Do rivet straps feel more premium than velcro straps?

Maybe its just me an I am overthinking this but I am creating the cushions for a set of indoor chairs with removable cushions that have straps that wrap around a part of the chair to secure the cushion.

I feel fortunate to be able to work on this project because the chair is fairly unique BUT I sewed the velcro straps onto the first cushion and it just looks like the velcro is out of place and not matching the rest of the chair. The velcro/rivets will be out of sight, however the person buying these still has to fiddle with the straps and I don't want them thinking the same thing I am thinking, 'these straps look kind of flat'

Should I consider using rivets instead of velcro?

How do you all feel about an in-house kitchen/food?

I am going to be fully managing a new production shop dedicated to furniture and some stoneworking tools with an attached office and warehouse this October. Feel blessed but also nervous

The new location is within 3 miles of a small town with decent food options

I am thinking of building out a licensed kitchen right next to the office and hiring a chef and cook in order to proivde hot cooked meals right on site to around 37 employees. I always hated packing lunches to work or eating out all the time so this seems like a no brainer to impliment

Could also occasionaly do a catering order from BBQ places etc..

5 years ago I worked for a hardscaping company that often subbed out metal fabrication work to a shop that I picked up from a lot. The boss at the fab place would always be cooking delicous smelling luches for his employees and I always thought it was a great way to make life easier and get to know the people you work with a little more.

My question
Have you worked at a place that had onsite and what did you think of it?

Renting out woodshop space to employees after work hours?

I would love to hear from anyone and especially if you own a production woodshop.

I manage a production shop for furniture that is well stocked with some of the best equipment. We operate from 7am - 9pm.

A couple employees asked if they could rent out a part of the workshop after hours so they can work on side projects and commissioned pieces unrelated to what our shop sells.

This seems like a good way to help my employess out and to make a little extra money. A liability waiver and some contract stuff would be pretty easy to draft up for them.

Has anyone done this or seen this at a shop they worked at?
Any potential drawbacks?

Is this the most effecient way to safely package a large piece of wood furniture

I have to package a large shipment of expensive wooden chair back rests. The package size is around 50" x 34" x 16" and 29lbs. I have almost zero experience with packaging stuff this large.

Since all of the back rest are going to different addresses so I plan to use UPS Ground --- I do NOT want to use LTL and palletize.

I am trying to keep shipping costs as low as possible via this method of shipping so I am trying to shave a couple inches off the dimensions by reducing packaging.

My plan is to:

- double wall cardboard
- put a 1/2" foam that lines the entire interior of the box
- foam roll wrap the wood piece
- double wrap the wood with 1/2" thick bubble wrap (1" thick total)

Will this be enough to protect a larger and slightly heavier product shipped UPS Ground or is this overkill?

What is the best way to store & ship a piece of wood furniture?

I have a few customers living half way across the US who I will need to ship some furniture to. Never had to ship any furniture pieces (chairs and a nightstand) before so this is kind of new to me. Does anyone have any 'best practices' for storing the furniture and shipping it?

So far I got:
- double walled cardboard
- wrap furniture in foam roll and then wrap in bubble wrap
- leave no space in box (packed tightly)

Do you think branded tape for the packaging adds a touch of professionalism to your brand and customer opinion?

I won't be able to get custom boxes quite yet for a new product so I was thinking of just using a custom tape with the logo on it to seal up the packaging.

Do you think this is worth it en lieu of custom boxes?

Should I bother setting up a second domain for manual+low frequency cold emailing?

I am selling a $170+ physical product that is useful for a small niche of businesses. I already have a google workspace domain that is warmed up and my plan is to send 30-40 cold emails per day to my targetted email list. All emails would be sent seperately, manually written, no imgaes/attachments, just one link back to website.

I don't want to ruin my domains sendability but I also wonder if this low frequency and targeted approach even requires a whole new domain setup.

Any advice?

Looking to hire a videographer for a 20 second product video

If you have a decent video camera, I need a product video for one product. It should be pretty straight forward. Most agencies that I have contacted in the area want me to get entire video/photo packages which is a little overboard for my needs.

I have the location already and lighting is taken care of. I am looking to complete this project in mid July

Please message me with any question and your pricing
