It’s a series of non sequiturs. WHY?!

Me, to be exact, love the Tick, or New Wave and Alternative music, and other hip, happenin’ now stuff. And yet this song is stuck in my core memories. Not the whole show, just bits like this. Made me smile today.

I’m surprised at how hard his death is hitting me. I mean, I watched Emergency as a kid. I had a crush on Randy as Johnny Gage. My Barbie camper was a rescue unit. But I hadn’t thought about the show for years. Occasionally I’d find an episode on cable and watch a few minutes for the sake of nostalgia.

Maybe it’s how people are reacting to his passing that’s hitting so hard. EMTs, fire fighters, people who became paramedics because of the show. Tributes as if he was one of their own. I didn’t realize how involved he was in promoting the safety of first responders

Not to mention how important the show was, the impact this had. The fact that we even having EMTs to help us that are only a few minutes away in some part due to this show.

This loss hurt more than I expected it to

A friend of mine is sending out resumes to get called for a pastoral job. An RV park in Florida was looking for a resident pastor. Well, she has an RV and she’s a pastor, so… worth a shot right?

Not only did she not get the job, the pastor in charge of hiring had to call her just to say she shouldn’t be a pastor because she’s a woman.

My friend usually has an answer for this, but she was so flabbergasted that she drew a blank. I mean, who DOES that?

Her standard line is generally “take it up with God, it was his idea.” She couldn’t even manage that much.

I just wish people were more tolerant. Okay, your faith tradition doesn’t allow for women to preach. So say no and move on.

I was just listening to the SiriusXM Broadway channel and “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend” came on.

When I was growing up, whenever I’d see Carol as a guest on some show, she was almost alway doing the same voice.

But listening to this song, her voice changes. It’s low, it’s higher, it’s the stereotypical Channing voice, then it’s almost Merman-ish in its belting strength.

Now I’m wondering how much of her persona was a character she played in public. I have to admit I loved that early performance, and hearing the variety in her voice.

Can anyone illuminate?

I’ve seen this episode exactly once. I don’t know if I have it in me to watch it again. Do I need a spoiler alert to say why?

I’m about to pull the trigger on a heavily discounted Etrian Odyssey Origins collection on Switch. I’ve only ever played the original Etrian Odyssey on DS (well… a DS game on a 3DS but same thing really). The bundle is only $31.99, down from $79.99.

Thoughts? It’s either I buy the whole bundle or the Switch version of the game I’m already playing.

How different are the mechanics on EO3 from what I’m used to with EO1 on the 3DS? I seem to remember reading that one of the Etrian Odyssey games in the series was quite different in its mechanics but I can’t remember which. Was it one of the later games: EO4, EO5 or later?

I ask because EO3 on the Switch is on sale, something like $15 instead of $40. Very tempted

I’m playing the first game for the first time in a very long while. One thing I remember from back in the day is that I’d get creative with the names of my party and then forget their class. I tried naming them after their jobs. That was better

Now for the goofy part. I decided to name this crew after characters in NCIS. Ducky’s a medic, McGee is an alchemist, Tony and Gibbs are fighters and so forth.

How do you go about naming YOUR party?

Do not make yours first then make yours first then make yours first so no one else can listen to anything but your 70’s retro Journey music, and then ask the bartender to cancel and cancel and cancel your music because you want to hear that one love song before bar close.

And no, unless you’re close friends with the bartender, don’t insist on plugging in your phone to the sound system so you can listen to your tunez

I would prefer they go with the animated asbestos fiber in one of their other commercials over this AI slop. The disclaimer says it’s a real testimonial but the spokesperson is fake. It’s just creepy to me.
